  1. I remember seeing something like that on the train section of EB. Very nice, but either it had the wings removed or if it was too fast for the camera to pick them up.
  2. While I'm waiting for my sets to arrive, I too played one of my old Castlevania games (Bloodlines for the Genesis/Megadrive). Funny how the main villain for both MF and Castlevania is a vampire and they both have other ghouls and beasties to do their bidding (Hell, the grim reaper takes orders from Dracula)
  3. Like I said, I at least want to get the Mines of Moria just for the parts and so I didn't completely miss out on LotR. Plus the Hobbit hair pieces can prove useful. As for the Monster Fighters, I plan on getting every one, possibly multiples (I need some swamp men and skeleton horses for my undead army). Plus having multiple of the monster fighters themselves can lend it self to useful parts anyway (Like Rathbone's outfit, Frank Rock's hair, etc). Same goes for Lord Vampyre.
  4. Although I am not a fan of the original set, this mod makes it worthwhile. I like it.
  5. Some of you might want to slay me for this, but I think I'll like this theme better than LotR. Those sets are great, sure, and I'll pick one up for the new horse mold, but these MF sets are a combination of fun, spooky, and cartoony, and though I really want the Mines of Moria, the Vampyre Castle takes precedence.
  6. I'm still waiting on the Monster Fighters sets now. As for Discovery Mills or something, I've never heard of it unless it's in Atlanta.

  7. Since I kind of missed out on these series, this will probably be on my "to buy" list under the Monster Fighters. As for why I think they chose these guys is for the Summer, I assume, kind of like if they had the CMF monsters for Halloween (Unlikely because of MF, but who knows)
  8. Hang on, you're in Columbus? I live there!

  9. If they were to do a show similar to Ninjago, I'd be happy, though I'm not sure exactly how they'd be able to stretch the story out to around an average season's amount of episodes based on a few sets. Plus it doesn't have an existing game like Ninjago does. Also Ninjago has a bit more of a compelling storyline that moves quickly but covers a lot of ground. However, all of this said, something similar to the Atlantis special would definitely work, and I could see that stretching out a few episodes. Either way, I'm all for a Monster Fighters special/series, if it's anything like the videos they have on Lego's site in terms of voice acting (They got Rathbone's voice perfect IMO) and I'm curious as to what the other monster fighters/monsters themselves will sound like.
  10. Originally I thought this was going to be the worst set in the theme, but now I realize I'm horrible wrong. Any EBers know a good place to get a heaping slice of humble pie? Anyway, the glow in the dark bandages on the mummy are a nice surprise and the skeletal horse makes this worthy of getting multiples (My undead knights need some ghastly steeds). It works as a set and a good parts pack if you're into ghoulish MOCs like me. As for Ms. Lee, the scar down her eye definitely adds character, and I love the garlic and stakes leg printing. Someone looks like she's read to take on Drac-I mean Lord Vampyre. Great little set!
  11. Well, I broke down and got more of the sets from Lego. Definitely looking forward to having them. I too am a fan of the classic Universal monsters (Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein is a classic, and so is Hold That Ghost), so a lot of these are right up my alley. Even if they don't, they have sort of a ghastly fun attributed to them, like the Ghost Train (Not much for a play-feature filled set, but the design is top notch) Anyway in regards to a second wave, a Jekyll and Hyde set would be interesting to see (Maybe have a transformation area similar to the one in Isla de Muetta), and a ghost ship would be amazing, just so much as it's not as disappointing as the Flying Dutchman Spongebob set. (Great idea, poor execution). Invisible Man was one of my favorite Universal monsters but unless they do him all covered up or use some trans pieces for, say, the head or his legs (A simple 1x2 trans-clear panel would work for the legs) but I'm worried his set would resemble a toned down Frankenstein lab (Since the Invisible Man was a scientist as well). Really it's not the lack of characters, it's the matter of what kind of set would work for them to please KFOLs and AFOLs alike like this wave most certainly has. Jekyll and Hyde and the ghost ship I could see, but the Invisible Man would be quite a tough nut to crack.
  12. Now that you mention it, it does looks a bit like pajamas in a way.
  13. The way I decide to buy a set is if the build looks substantial, if it has good play features, parts, and yes the minifigs. The Ghost Train looks like it'll satisfy the first criteria (Which is why I'll buy it all things considered) and the minifigs are great, even if the ghost polybag will be available. You can never have too many happy haunts (Considering the only spooks I have haunting my Lego collection are skeletons). I'm just saving it for last compared to the other sets in the line. In terms of parts, that flame is unique because of the GitD injection plus the neat face on the front of the locomotive.
  14. Really if I had to skip out on one of the MF sets, this would be it. It's depending on whether the polybag will be available, but nonetheless, it'll lower the price on Brick Link for sure. the only reason I'm getting it is for completion's sake. Even if you can get the ghosts in a polybag, you can never have too many happy haunts.
  15. I think we found Cthulhu's teddy bear. That said, great job, even if I was a little late to the party.
  16. Even though I'm going to get every set in this theme at some point, the Ghost Train has gone to the bottom of my list. It's not a bad set, it's just the ghosts are going to have their own polybag coming up (They popped up earlier in this thread) and I can stock up either with them or on Brick Link, and the two monster hunters appear in the two cheapest sets in the series. I will have to give the train props for no stickers anywhere and injecting some glow in the dark stuff on the flame. If anything, The Zombies is the highest on the priority list because I assume it won't be as readily available outside of Lego and some other stores. That and I'm a huge zombie nut and this set satisfies me in every possible way (Again, no stickers, plenty of play features, a substantial build for the truck and the grave yard, generous amounts of zombies, etc)
  17. Ah, okay. Like I said I never did get a recent huge set but the PotC set surprised me because of the fact it was only a $20 set and it had the deluxe treatment (Including shiny gold parts rather than pearl gold), but it makes sense for them to save it for the bigger sets like the brick separators. I just wonder why the Superhero sets didn't do that because of the comics that came with them (Catwoman and Capt. America excluded)
  18. The only problem with my super heroes is a crack down Iron Man's torso and Tony Stark's angry face is a bit scratched. Other than that, the others, both DC and Marvel are in great condition. This is in West Georgia USA BTW. (Columbus)
  19. Well I caved in and bought the Swamp Creature set online at TRU. I can't wait! As for the others, as I've said, I'm waiting for them to hit Walmart before I get them so I can avoid the huge mark-up online. (Have you seen eBay's prices for them? $175 for the Vampire Castle?) As for the brick separator thing, I haven't gotten one yet, but then again, I haven't gotten a huge set recently, so I'm bound to get a couple with this line. Also I recall some of the smaller PotC sets having the cardboard backing on the instructions (My Isla set had them).
  20. I understand, but I couldn't find a Lego horse nearby before I got the idea. Plus it'd tie in to that little comment about me giggling like a school girl. On topic, though, that fire extinguisher funny also made me chortle.
  21. Superman:You and your kind paralyzed one of my portrayers so you must suffer! Sorry, I had to reply to this.
  22. This is that MLP idea I had. Apparently, Superman isn't much of a brony after the Christopher Reeve horse incident, so the Man of Steel took it upon himself to take matters into his own hands.
  23. You know, Oky, now that you mention the pony thing, there was one idea I had involving them but me, being the unorganized buffoon I am, I lost my camera. I won't spoil the rest. Anyway, back on topic, I like the Agents pic. The color scheme is similar to the S.H.I.E.L.D. stuff.
  24. I'm not sure, but I plan on doing the same thing, since a random lab out in the middle of nowhere would be a little far fetched. Then again they did say it was supposed to be a basement lab.
  25. Very nice work, and a 7 year old did this? Are you sure you didn't do it and you're just giving him credit? Kidding. I really like the Ecto1 and the addition of the logo is good for a youngin. The only complaint is the ghost in the logo, since it's a bit inaccurate, but I bet one of the new Monster Fighter ghosts would fit the bill.
