  1. Star Wars: the holiday special debunks the entire 'Wookies were enslaved by the Empire' nonsense with its mere existence. Say anything you want about the movie, but George Lucas provided the creators with all the needed material on the Wookies and never mentioned they were enslaved and treated somehow differently from the rest of the sentient species. I think this stupid idea, forming a large bulk of modern SW lore, originated from Timothy Zahn's "Heir to the Empire", and it was heavily implied that Imperials landed on Kashyyk to capture Wookies and sell them to third parties (?!) (Pellaeon's backstory). In the same book Han Solo claims that "Wookies were nice before the Empire started enslaving them", which is quite strange considering he previously claimed that "Wookies are known for pulling people's arms out of their sockets when they loose" in ANH - the absolute best SW movie ever, by the way!!! Why do SW fans claim that they hate the Prequels, yet the Prequels are the first thing they associate with Star Wars? Are they hypocrites? Also, why do SW fans believe Ben Kenobi's and Leia's lies? Are they naive? None of them had any reason to be honest. Hell, Ben lied to Luke about his father. Finally, why do SW fans think Anakin looks and behaves like the Hyden Christiansen version? Are they stupid? Darth Vader would never behave like that (what's most important, he'd NEVER have slaughtered any younglings like animals - yes, yes, I claim that Vader from the OT wouldn't have commited such an atrocity! That's not in his character) Sebastian Shaw is the real Anakin Skywalker! ...Do I need to say I sincerely believe everything I typed above? Was I provocative enough?
  2. Great build as always! The textures of the floor and door look very nice and add realism to the scene. Hiding Vice Admiral Cesco's golden shoulder bars with a fur collar was creative! Isn't the Dark Guard Carnor Jax, by any means? TJ-13 is the cutest Lego droid I've ever seen in a MOC
  3. Those minifigures are only slightly improved. Mary Marvel was updated to look more in line with Bruce Timm's original artworks. Poison Ivy now has a face made of stickers, rather than painted with a gel ink pen
  4. Since I acquired especially sticky white stickers, improving my Imperial Patrol trooper (the Empire's policeman!) was only a matter of time:
  5. ...But didn't, thinking I already said that long ago. Best way to do Vector justice in Lego, though...
  6. The camera angle adds realism to this digital shot. Looking at the scene makes me feel like a minifigure! The only complaint I have - the shadows on the AT-AT are a little too much
  7. Ok, thanks for correcting me! The 4+ A-wing also looked horrible, IMHO Agreed. SC have the absolute most advanced designs amongst mainstream official sets
  8. I don't think I like the new Jedi Interceptor. But this new set introduces new parts (located on the sides of the cockpit) that should make MOCing the Eta-2 easier (if appearing in yellow, dark red, dark blue, dark green, etc...). Minifigures are nice, Anakin finally doesn't have burns on his Jedi robes. A new R5-D4 minifigure SHOULD be a welcome and fine addition to anyone's collection, if better than the 2012 one
  9. Twice the sugar - double the cavities!
  10. Thanks! As of the windscreen, there apparently was no other reasonable way to secure it
  11. That's sad. Black suit Spiderman is incredible!
  12. I agree with you on this moment. Miller's crimes deserved to be acknowledged by the studio indeed. But I personally don't think the movie is as bad as they say. I didn't even notice the bad CGI everyone complained about. I liked the story, but the whole "The Flash saves his mom, and Batman becomes completely different" idea is weird to me. A deleted scene suggested that his time travels even influenced the Beatles (?!), which implies that Barry was born in the 1950s (!?!!). But the movie was fun to watch, and Keaton's Batman was cool. Not the 'absolute worst DCEU movie ever' at all, IMHO - first Suicide squad was much worse, with the whole idea of the task force X being proposed to counter an potential 'evil superman' instead of what they did in comics being stupid
  13. Shazam! was very different from the rest of the DCEU - it was actually very fun to watch. IMHO, it had a perfect balance of funny and dark moments. In some ways, it's better than the New 52 comic it was loosely based on - while sadly not introducing Black Adam and some other characters, it had more focus on the cast and therefore turned out to be a better story overall. Not that introducing so many characters at the same time is a bad thing either... I didn't love the second part, but I still think it's overhated, just like The Flash
  14. Thanks! Appreciated
  15. The I-16 is back! The first production model of the famous fighter aircraft lacked its iconic Watter tunnel cowling and had a sleek NACA cowling instead. It was equipped with a M-22 engine - a licensed copy of the French Gnome-Rhone "Jupiter" VI. It became the fourth type of aircraft produced at the 21st plant in Gorky (they later manufactured the La-11), so it was designated 'type 4'. It's probably the most obscure I-16 variant, but for me, it's the most beautiful. This particular I-16 was flown by future Spanish Civil war fighter ace Ivan Trofimovich Yeremenko, who later participated in the Great Patriotic war. Long ago, I already tried to recreate the legendary plane out of Lego - it was my first Lego model of a real life aircraft - but it didn't satisfy me. After acqiring some dark green parts, I built this new version at 1/32 scale. This cockpit may look too cramped, but it still fits a pilot minifigure - I tested it myself: Of course, the landing gear can be retracted: The fighter plane in flight configuration: I hope you like it!
  16. I slightly upgraded my I-15's wings and pilot seat. Here's a picture of it with its monoplane counterpart - the I-16 M-22 (type 4):
  17. The second design's narrower feet look more accurate to me
  18. You mean the old, yellowish white? Yes, that's a nice option. The problem is that it's not an official colour - it's produced by the sun... But if you mean that TLG should create a new, similar official colour (between white and tan), I understand your point
  19. From my point of view, the Snowtroopers have always been among the absolute worst Lego Star Wars minifigures. The 2014 Snowtrooper Commander minifigure is, without any doubt, the absolute best Snowtrooper minifig. I acquired its torso today and decided to create my own version, simultaneously upgrading my old Snowtrooper minifigures. Unlike the Snowtroopers on set, the Snowtrooper officer wore a face mask not out of fabric, but of solid vacuform plastic. I decided to replicate it with a paper mask with a cusom drawing. The Snowtrooper officer was armed with a DL-44 blaster pistol in a holster, shown on the 2014 minifigure torso. Since I laid my hands on especially sticky white stickers, I decided to go as far as giving my Snowtroopers arm decor. They are my perfect Lego Snowtroopers now - but I wish TLG realised new, better minifigures, with tan arms and legs instead of light bluish grey and dark tan.
  20. So sad that the DCEU's failure directly influences TLG's decisions on DCAU products. I personally would like to see more than just the Gotham city skyline and Batmobile sets. I'd prefer a BTAS/TNBA based Arkham over an abstractly comic-based one. Mostly because of the minifigures it could include. It was also pretty much consistent, compared to the comics. Possibilities of recreating the 'Trial' BTAS episode scenario and Dr. Leland's office from 'Harley's holiday' or 'Double Talk' would've been nice, IMHO
  21. How could Sony's Spider-Man get a CMF series, and the DCAU not?!
  22. Two new minifigures - Lex Luthor and Aquaman from S:TAS As opposed to my previous Lex Luthor minifig, this one depicts his classic look with a suit and no cheekbones. Aquaman's figure is identical to official sh0533
