  1. It doesn't. You can finally destroy something that was already destroying itself but stopped mid-process and announced a 'reboot' It's not his only source of money for living, I guess?.. Reviews are subjective. Matt Reeves' The Batman was very successful and is getting a sequel despite being not a deconstruction of Bruce Wayne's character (albeit a forced and senseless one - there are far better ways to deconstruct him) , but a movie that takes itself too much seriously. Many people enjoyed Ryan Johnson's The last Jedi, some of them even believing it's the best Star Wars movie ever. Almost all SW fans agree that ROTS is the best SW movie ever. This doesn't mean they are good movies. This is a very good argument. Sometimes, when you don't have an adaptation that is faithful to the source material, a basic understanding of the general idea is enough. Tolkienists hated Jackson's movies but changed their minds after the Rings of Power happened. SW fans hated Prequels until the Sequels happened. Jackson's LOTR and SW Prequels aren't faithful to the originals, but they at least have some respect. That's why people like Burton's Batman movies despite the many obvious contradictions to the mythos. But when you don't respect the original idea, you may compensate this with a new, creative take (Ledger's Joker from TDK is nothing like comic Joker) that fans will find interesting and won't mind... If it's smartly done and works in the movie's context, of course. Maybe... Maybe not. The DCEU failed partially because Zack Snyder didn't understand DC characters, especially Batman. I don't think Gunn understands Superman, no matter how 'comic-accurate' the costume looks (it doesn't)
  2. As my younger brother said: "Gunn is a Marvel guy. His goal is to destroy DC cinema from inside up." And even if not, let's not forget that Gunn always was a big Scooby-Doo fan... Being sincerely into something doesn't guarantee respect for the source material and fanbase
  3. Awesome! And this LAAT from the 2003 Clone Wars is built mostly out of ordinary, non-deficit parts and still looks cool. Like it!
  4. It's okay, I now see that. Luke has the right to suspect anything - even if Na'al told him about the 'madman from Pavo Prime', he shouldn't know it's he who secured the lightsabers... I planned to include a nod to your story in one of my next builds!
  5. The A-wing is my favourite Rebel ship, and I am looking forward to building the ROTJ version in addition to my early production one. This build is awesome and without any doubt much better than the official set - additional praise for being an improved version of a 2009 MOC. The amount of detail is tremendous, and the shape is very beautiful and streamlined. You perfectly captured the simultaneous sleeknes and chubbiness of the original. Great work!
  6. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! It mustn't be Jar Jar's and Brandei's fault, but it seems that some precious lightsabers were lost and are now used by unworthy... Whoever animated those poor stormtrooper corpses... Rax should've counted the lightsabers! Seriously, I must get more involved in this RPG, referencing events occurring in the Galaxy... The military officers may not be alligned, but they aren't isolated! Your build is beautiful as always, @Sentinel_Brix! I am looking forward to what happens next! Now that Baldarek is here, I should try to introduce Kyle Katarn...
  7. I became a Batman fan after watching The Lego movie (2014) - since there were no TLM sets with Batman in the first wave, I looked at contemporary Batman sets and became interested in the character and his enemies. Since then I always attempted to build my own Batmobile, only recently finding my favourite comic version - from Alex Ross' 2005 'Justice' comic - and recreating it out of Lego parts. But TNBA is my favourite take on Batman, and I couldn't ignore the Batmobile from this cartoon. This simple yet effective design is also my favourite - sorry, BTAS Batmobile, at least you were incuded in the TLBM garage, unlike your TNBA counterpart... I am a strong supporter of 8-stud-wide Lego cars, and this Batmobile isn't an exception, unlike the beforementioned one - for me, building cars that are too wide is mauvais ton, unless justified. Besides, it had to match my two TNBA GCPD police cars. The car's rear has three exhausts, as seen in TNBA episode 'Growing pains' - the central is a rarely used jet booster (this Batmobile seems to have a primary internal combustion engine - my respect!) The cabin has full interior and should fit both Batman and Batgirl - I was too cautious to put my favourite Batgirl minifigure with perfectly custom-painted hair iside (albeit I tested it with a spare one): Just like any of my recent Lego car MOCs, this one also has front wheels that can be steered: Hope you like it!
  8. Created two new characters from STAS - Bizarro and Ubu: I have this bad (or good?) habit of updating some of my old minifigures, which I did with some: Improvements from left to right: - Two-Face - black sticker on the left side of his torso; - Gordon - sticker wrinkles on his face; - Hatter - gray hair and frown stickers, new leg details; - Joker - sticker shoes; - Scarecrow - custom hair and new face, hand-drawn over Palpatine's with a gel ink pen, new rope on his neck; - Batman - painted his belt with a golden permanent marker; - Superman - replaced red underwear with a dark red one; - Supergirl - shortened skirt, so it's now shorter than Barbara Gordon's (the hell is wrong with B. T. ?! ) - Darksied - replaced Benny's cracked helmet with a normal one
  9. I know (I mentioned it in the beginning), but considering the fact that it's not canon (SW lore claims they are thermal detonators) it's more like a joke, albeit rooted in early development ideas...
  10. Stormtroopers with lazerswords!.. Why not? This is what the cylinders on their backs were initially supposed to be! After all, hunting lightsaber-wielding Jedi is much easier that way. Besides, it's quite a nice explanation for why their E-11s are designed for left-handed usage... ...So, you ask me, why didn't they use them in the OT? Well, because there was never a situation where the usage of those swords would've made sense. Sure, they may be helpful sometimes, but overall limited in usage. I also imagine them being somehow worse than lightsabers. But, hey, it's just a joke theory I came up with (although I take it seriously...)
  11. Beautiful! A very cute little Falcon
  12. Jonicle: mask of Phantasmagoria Jonicle 2: the Legend of Man (stupid) Jonicle 3: Shadow's web Jonicle: Ledger returns ... Did I get the competition right?
  13. I feel like they were trying to do the only right thing while squeezing Lady Gaga in. The movie may be a disappointment, but what else could Arthur do in his situation? I'd give the movie maximum 4/5, but I don't think it's so bad either. IMHO, it would've been better without Gaga's character, despite her somehow pivotal role in the plot. Or maybe without the singing that doesn't really add much...
  14. I'm pretty sure the designer had this in mind while giving Tails the "I'm gonna kill you!!" face. Though it may be just a reference to Sonic Adventure 2, parodied in the video
  15. I saw the leaked images of the Cyclone set. It's a well-designed and -built set that somehow looks very crude. The rounded nose is the only thing that hints at the walker's airplane origin. Metal Sonic is well-designed, with dual-molded arms, but still manages to look weird to me
  16. The builds are nice, but if I were designing the ARC cannon, I would've considered that it was mounted on an AT-DP with AT-ST-esque chassis: Though, tbh, you did redesign the legs, so please forgive me...
  17. BEST. FANMADE. SPEEDER BIKE. EVER!!! It may not be the iconic 74-Z, yet it's awesome! Building it around the new motorcycle frame was a very good idea, and the rangefinder pieces work great as controls. You manage to nail your speeders perfectly The 'natural' part also is very beautiful. Wish I could build trees and plants like this... Oh, I just don't have that beautiful stump piece of yours...
  18. Well, he was in Legends - I only took it further... In Canon, he also was Imperial Moff but was killed by Saw Gerrera before he could tell Palpy that the Princess of Alderaan was Padme's daughter. Palpatine gone - carry on... Thanks! Well, thanks - but, even though you didn't say it, I must point out that the guy in the dark tan uniform isn't Brandei, though he looks similar. I didn't think of a name for him while posting the build, but now I want him to be Major Enric Pryde (even though I hate Sequels, I find the usage of oldschool First Order officers an interesting idea). Brandei is somehow the one of Thrawn's captains I memorised best (unlike Dorja and the others), and I always imagined him being close to Rax
  19. Thanks! I am planning to build the Batmobile and, probably, the Batboat from TNBA
  20. Looks great for a MOD of an official Star Destroyer playset. Good job!
  21. @Feuer Zug, thanks! Your Gee Bee model Z is very nice. The I-15 aircraft had a licensed copy of the Wright Cyclone R-1820 F-3 engine with a Townend ring
  22. That's a cute little race plane! Looks very nice for its scale
