LEGO Batman Movie Screen-Accurate Bactcave & Wayne Manor Recreation
Max_Lego replied to Moneytachi's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's the helicopter that dropped Batman (disguised as the Mayor) at the power plant in the beginning. I suggest using screenshots of that scene for more information. Reducing the speed of the video helps a lot One of the most elusive GCPD vehicles from TLBM is, in fact, the VTOL aircraft flown by Barbara Gordon in her promotional video BTW, it's not entirely true. It introduced a Bat-themed 2007 Lego Creator 4953, seen in the very screenshot on your profile picture, but I guess that doesn't count, since it cannot fit any minifigure... -
I'm so glad you didn't give up on your AT-AT. Good luck! I hope it's going to be awesome

[MOC] - Rebel BTL-A4 Y-wing bomber V2 (~1/32 scale)
Max_Lego replied to Max_Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I couldn't tolerate the inaccurate front landing gear leg any longer and redesigned it: Note that now it retracts backwards, just as on the original, not forwards as before -

Although the redesign was radical, I didn't think it deserves a new topic, so I post it here. I enraged the ship's hull, making it longer, wider and the small details more accurate (basing it on Gold 5 movie model). I also replaced the vectral rings with much, much better ones - which I am very proud of. Now the model has much better proportions and is almost exactly at 1/32 scale! The underbelly was also redesigned for better accuracy (though the forward landing gear is, sadly, still inaccurate): The model still stands well on its landing gear, though the vectral rings still need supports (transparent on picture): -
Thanks! I got the idea from John Mollo's statement that the Imperial crest was inspired by XVIII-century fortifications. I think it's up to @Professor Thaum to decide what K. Kaas is going to do. Please forgive me, but Rax cannot serve any Emperor - his allegiance is to the one and only true Empire, and he is part of a plan to restore it. Rax doesn't like warlords and distrusts them, believing they betrayed the Empire's ideals. He may temporarily ally with them, but will only serve the one known as the 'Chess meister', who is currently dealing with soul-consuming dinosaurs in the Unknown Regions...

Thanks for the appreciation of my work! I gonna post my upgraded Y-wing soon too! I agree that the 75218 X-wing is the best, though the recent 'ugly' has its own pros. I also bought it at some point, and it helped me a lot. And the unique helmet mold from this set is perfect for Luke Skywalker, IMHO Exactly, but it's still more of a joke. Pellaeon's a dirty coward Rax's gonna dislike him in my fanfic (and he already does in Mysteries)
-
More specifically, they are 75218 (X-wing) and 75175 (A-wing), recoloured with blue parts. Don't you want to try and design your own versions? I think they would be much better if you did, you are very skilled at designing Lego MOCs. BTW, Captain Pellaeon would've been proud of Taggart... He's lucky that he doesn't serve under Rax.

On a happy note, I just noticed that this Two-Face minifigure looks like the Pete Holmes Badman version: TLG seems not to consolidate the perfect balance of facial features. Remember those creepy 2014 SW minifigures with excessive facial detail (though Luke's face could've worked well for the ROTJ version)? Now Lego faces seem to lack as much detail as possible. Also, remember when 2014 TDK Batman had an unique Bale's face under his cowl? I don't think we'll ever get anything like that in the future

I must say that, for a minifigure without leg printing, Ledger Joker looks surprisingly good. I still don't like the hair colour - for me, it's too light. Harvey's hairpiece isn't perfect, but looks decent Also, why is Jonkler stealing money for himself, not burning it? Is he TNBA Jonkler? ...Aaaand, of course, it's Superman who's got the mech suit, not Lex. The Aslume is now official

MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules
Max_Lego replied to MKJoshA's topic in Mysteries: A Star Wars Role-Playing Game
@Sentinel_Brix, I don't want to be unfriendly. I see your point about losing the creative freedom, and I assure you that I have no intention of personally returning to L9 as of now. In fact, I don't think I will be building anywhere the Light Side is present for some time. I think @MKJoshA said that if you scored the necessary points first, you should not worry about my much too late activities. Sorry if I offended you -

If the Light side already took L9, does it mean that my activities are illegal? Is it against the rules or 'dirty playing'? I don't want to play dirty -
MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules

Was it I who violated the rules? If so, I shall remove my entry and apologize. I believed the Dark Side and the Light Side had a competition for grid squares. Correct me if I was wrong ...Also, Velusia belongs to the Empire canonically -
*Your entry has earned 12 XP + 2 bonus for a total of 14 XP (S:4, T:4, A:4) The water world of Velusia, inhabited by peaceful fishermen tribes, had become an Imperial fortress world sometime before the Battle of Endor. Located not far from the main fortress world Anaxes, it was now under the influence of the legendary Field Marshal Cody, now visiting his old friend Panaka on Naboo. When the two TIE fighters, belonging to Krakoo Kaas' Imperial remnant, with whom Cody had cautious friendly relations, flew in the planet's atmosphere, the commandant of the main nearby fortress (which was built on an artificial island), contacted Cody immediately. - Since they are our... Erm, allies, - the commandant said, - I only gave them a friendly warning. Thankfully, they didn't intend to fly near military structures and only executed some maneuvers among the rocks in the non-inhabited sector, returning to their cruiser in 20 minutes. - They better not fly TIEs in a breathable atmosphere, - Cody replied, - even the TIE Striker isn't prone to severe structure stress while performing acrobatics like this... But, after all, this is none of our business - all we have to do is to keep an eye on their activities without spoiling relations with Kaas. You did the right thing, commandant. I shall contact and politely ask him to cease such activities in our sector. You know my diplomatic skills. - Thank you, sir. If I may ask you, is everything proceeding as planned? - Well, yes, but 'the Dark one' seems to be a little overacting... Besides, despite his extreme modesty, I believe he thinks too much of himself and his role in the plan... We must wait till 'the Chess meister' returns from the Unknown Regions, and he will make the final decisions. As of now, situation normal. - Long live the Empire, then? - Long live the Empire.

[MOC] - The new Batman adventures/B:TAS GCPD police car
Max_Lego replied to Max_Lego's topic in LEGO Licensed
After finally building my long-planned TNBA Batmobile, I felt utterly dissatisfied with my two police cars. I thought they were far too simplistic and not accurate enough. I reworked both of them, redesigning the rear and interior, but most notably finally adding rear-view mirrors - here is the result: -
Beautiful as always! The everything is so smooth, and the water is simply fabulous. The Creaking mob (its behaviour seems a little too weird to me, btw) is very well recreated. I wish I had so many plates of such different colours... Good job!

The almost ideal pirate ship - (theoretically) affordable, yet looks fascinating and is beautifully done. Brick-built sails are awesome. I'm sorry that I didn't vote for it on Bricklink - I discovered it late...

[MOC] - Redesigned Alex Ross' 2005 Justice Batmobile
Max_Lego replied to Max_Lego's topic in LEGO Licensed
The fairing of the front wheels was too long and ugly. Shortened them and added some minor details -
Fascist Italy's small WWII adventure in Russia cost them a heavily modified WWI-era dreadnought Giulio Cesare, commissioned in 1949 by the now-Soviet Navy under the new name Novorossiysk. The heavily worn ship had to be repaired several times and was constantly upgraded. This little model was very tricky to build. Nevertheless, it turned out to be better than I expected it to be when finished. Yes, I know that the barrels of the two-gun turrets are too thick, but I think it's better than 1x1 clip plates...

Remember all those times I claimed the Star Wars Prequels are bad? I didn't make my point correctly then: the Prequels are VERY good movies!.. Seriously, they ARE very good. ROTS is a magnificent movie in particular. ...That is, until you remember that they are supposed to be prequels to the OT. And they automatically start being horrible SW movies, while still being very good on their own (it's just my own unpopular opinion; as far as I know, I am the only person in the entire multiverse who cannot stand all those times the Prequels blatantly contradicted the Originals) Zack Snyder's movies may actually be nice movies... But many DC fans hate them for whatever reason. I personally don't like how characters act there and the decisions they make - for me, that makes little sense in context. BTAS is a cult classic but got only two sets as of now. I don't think DC Super Pets doesn't deserve tie-in sets, but it's very unlikely. The dog appeared in the 76096 set, and three DC Super hero girls sets had a puppy version

Alright, Zack Snyder had the creator's right to turn Superman into a murderer who doesn't care about the lives the people he is supposed to protect and is perfectly OK of endagering them. That's something Homelander from the comic would've done, but hey, at least it's new! Instead of criticising the ones responsible, they decided to unleash their hatred on the poor actors who were only doing their job. SW fans are utterly evil and inconsistent with their criticism. I personally don't mind Jake Lloyd's Anakin at all, and I like Jar Jar very much. But Hyden Christiansen's take is not how I imagine Anakin. And it's not the actor's fault. I may hate Filoni's Clone Wars, but they did one good thing - they fixed Anakin, allowing to take him much more seriously than the whiny child murderer from the Prequels. This is how Hayden portrayed him in Ahsoka - he's not a bad actor. Jared Leto's Joker was bad because how the director viewed the character, and so on... I believe actors deserve backlash for hostile or stupid behaviour only, not for their portrayal of imaginary characters. I agree. But Snyder actually can create a good movie - with the condition of being in the iron grip of a smart producer... Violating hyperspace rules is not even about disrespect - it's about blatant lore-breaking. SW is a universe which is supposed to have a noncontradictory canon. But it may serve as a disrespect marker, IMHO Overall, I agree that the source material may be adapted in many different ways, without being strictly faithful to the original (but for me, there are exceptions; if I were a director in charge of adapting, I would change Zahn's Thrawn trilogy to the point that it becomes unrecognisable, while adapting Miyazaki's Nausicaa manga as faithfully as possible), but I still believe it should be done smartly, without violation of logic and common sense. And, of course, - if the creators want to profit - it should appeal to the fanbase
