  1. I read Batgirl Year One but, sadly, didn't enjoy it. Same with Burnside Batgirl. But it's just me
  2. Yes, I was referring to TNBA specifically I mean, they upgraded her look compared to B:TAS, made her younger and changed her personality from adventure-seeker to a person who wants to help. I don't really care about other versions of the character, but the TNBA one is my favourite DC character overall
  3. I'll see what I can do. I currently don't have Batwoman cowls, so I may try to acquire two on Bricklink. Thanks!
  4. Alright, I'll try! Would you also like me to craft General Zod from Superman Adventures #21?
  5. Sorry, my bad... I just had this idea for Rax's 'parade' uniform for some weeks and couldn't resist the temptation to craft it. I don't think you need to recreate it 100% accurately! Thank you, @Sentinel_Brix! I hope I didn't fail you!
  6. *Your entry has earned 10 XP + 2 bonus for a total of 12 XP (S:3.5, T:3.5, A:3) Rax was surprised to receive an invitation to the Imperial warlords' Gala from Elena Vonreg - he was absolutely sure that other Imperial remnants' leaders will never take him seriously (in fact, he counted on it, and, frankly speaking, it was part of his goal). But upon receiving an direct order from Grand Admiral Thrawn himself to accept that invitation - his mind was blown. Together with Jordan Arendale, THE EMPIRE'S GREATEST COMMANDO!!!, who was assigned to his command by Cody, and his trusted friend Jar Jar, Rax put on his custom 'parade' uniform and headed to Castle Vonreg. The castle's hall was dark and dull on the inside, decorated with some precious artworks the Baron didn't value enough to hide from visitors. There vere some mosaics out of shiny stones and a full ancient Mandalorian Beskar armor. Rax wished those treasures belonged to the Empire and displayed to the public in a museum, but he knew he should hide those thoughts as far as possible. Elena Vonreg herself greeted the trio. - Greetings, Commissar Rax, and welcome to Castle Vonreg! - she said, - this is a very handsome uniform you wear! Are you a Grand Admiral, by any means? - No, no... Of course not, - Rax said, I just like the combination of white and some Imperial Army red! By the way, your uncle has a beautiful collection of artworks! - Well, thanks, but... - a confused Elena said, - but I would've preferred them to be in a museum, honestly. I thought you'd understand me... - Well, they are your uncle's property now, - Rax answered carefully, - I don't think he'll give them up... "Could she really be sincere? - he asked himself, - those warlords make me feel miserable... I was hoping for Moff Krakoo Kaas to show up - Cody told me he's a very nice person, - but all I see is this Gilad Pellaeon bad guy... Alright, the Chess Meister told me to find out as much as possible about them... And Jar Jar is with me, alongside with THE EMPIRE'S GREATEST COMMANDO!!! I have no right to complain" - Anyway, the meeting will start in exactly a standard hour, - Elena said, - would you mind a little tour? - Thanks! My dear friends, - Rax told his comrades, - I think we should accept this generous invitation!..
  7. To be honest, the GUN truck isn't really a military truck - it's just a huge scary truck, so I don't really see the problem. Even the GUN troopers can be made as Lego minifigures, I think - and even if they can't, ACU guards from Jurassic world can replace them effectively
  8. Maybe the whole Schumacher rumour is fake? I don't think TLG would step into THAT territory... The Riddler is smart. That's his entire point. He is supposed to be a smart guy who envies Batman and wants to humiliate him. In the movie, he's like: "YoU cOmPlEtE Me", which is lore-breaking. His plan is dumb and makes literally zero sense. You are right. Instead of the selfish genius the Riddler is, we got a traumatized and vengeful nobody, whose stupid plan successfully worked, and yet he screams desperately in his cell as if he failed. HIS STUPID PLAN WORKED! Batman had literally no right to feel himself a hero - he didn't prevent the tragedy from happening, as he didn't prevent anything bad from happening in this movie
  9. UT-AT is very good news. I'm not a fan of Prequels and TCW, but I shall be glad to see them Galactic Marines, Bacara and, of course, Ki-Adi-Mundi, who asks about the droid attack on the Wookies! If the Marines get new helmet molds, it would probably mean that the Snowtroopers may finally get decent minifigures. As @Classic_Spaceman suggested, a two-piece helmet would do fine. I don't know what to think of the $1000 Death Star though. I hope it doesn't have any exclusive minifigures of new characters - those should be relatively affordable, in my opinion. If they are included in such a set, they would be almost impossible to acquire. Yularen from the May the 4th polybag already is...
  10. Fair enough. Nope - I remember the TLBM teaser from 2016, which didn't tell anything about the plot either. I was too excited for a Lego! Batman! Movie! back then to care about it. I know people are excited about a new Superman movie, and I wish I was too but no. The only valid one, perhaps. I don't see what to praise in this movie sans the atmosphere. Colin Farrell's Penguin had a small role and couldn't save the movie. But his TV show turned out to be quite decent, as far as I've heard - because of the lack of Battinson among other reasons Agreed. Sopranos is a classic
  11. A teaser trailer also should tell at least something about the story. AND IT DOESN'T. The snippets are too short to make any conclusions. And that's terrible Fow what? Many people say they like it, but the only reason they can name is the atmosphere. Also, not everyone, I tell you, not everyone liked it! And I am pretty sure that the popularity of this movie will make the DC bosses take mainstream Batman in the wrong direction. If they wanted to deconstruct Batman - which they didn't intend to - they should've done it differently. Even Frank Miller's cringey The Dark Knight Returns deconstructed the character much better than Reeves did
  12. @Classic_Spaceman, I think your points are fair enough. Thanks But I am still sceptical enough though
  13. The MCU is not about nostalgia. But, yes, it's about making MONEY!
  14. My complaint is that I don't know what to think about this trailer. Most people admitted having nostalgic feelings while watching the trailer. I don't have the same nostalgia as the people who witnessed the Silver age of Comic books. The trailer doesn't really tell what the movie is going to be about. Sure, it's about Superman beginning his career and... And? What is Lex Luthor up to? Who is this monster Superman is fighting? Why do Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner wear Maxwell Lord uniforms? Is it going to be a deconstruction of the superhero genre then? Superman doesn't look mighty. Superman from S:TAS looked absolutely mighty (but was somehow lame, IMHO). Cavill looked mighty. Corenswet looks... ordinary, like an everyman. Maybe it is the idea, but still looks weird. Seriously, I don't think the movie is going to be bad. But I am not sure it's going to be good either... I am glad someone understands my disdain for The Batman...
  15. I think that the MCU is still more than just visuals Also, the MCU doesn't really have a reputation for being 'comic-accurate', to the point that few people remember Marvel comics at all
  16. Guys, I owe you all an apology. Watching the Superman trailer and reading the feedback made me realise the mind-blowing power of aesthetics! Now I understand why Reeves' The Batman was so successful! And how wrong it was to discuss Star Wars in the now-Aslume thread. I was so utterly wrong! ... Because who cares about ideas if the picture looks awesome? I absolutely don't intend to start any arguments, I just want to admit how wrong I was. The Batman had a comic-accurate Gotham (no), comic-accurate Catwoman (no!) - and became so successful! This new Superman is absolutely comic-accurate (hell no!) - I am pretty sure that not only it is going to be successful, but it also will unironically save DC! It's all that matters. Nobody cares about the portrayal of characters, the idea of the movie - a beautiful picture and some nostalgia will do the job. Making money is the 1st priority after all. Again, I mean no offence. I just agree to disagree. I also agree that no Lego sets based on this movie is wrong. TLG wasted a great potential! Again, mods are welcome to ban me if they feel it's the right thing to do
  17. Yes, Big totally needs a bigfigure new mold... And a new mold for Froggy, since using the old regular frog would be a wrong thing to do, at least I think so
  18. Beautiful! Such an adorable build out of a small category set! I like it
  19. Any new characters would've been nice, be it Maria and Gerald, Team Chaotix or Cream and Cheese. But I think that TLG is very reluctant while introducing any new Sonic characters to the line. We don't know anything for sure, but may hope for the best... I lost hope for movie-based Sonic sets already...
  20. OMG... That's definitely something! So many creative ways to combine parts into a mech... As you said, without any SNOT! Your entry to the contest is the most creative among all of them, IMAO. I hope the judges will share my opinion! Congratulations!
  21. The new trend of TLG is to produce TCW-based sets, so I'm not surprised
