In preparation for the upcoming Mafia School game, I thought I might as well post the new official rules in here as well. These rules are the official "standard" rules for EB Mafia, and will apply to all Mafia School games. Do note that all hosts (apart from Mafia School) still have the freedom and flexibility to change or add to these rules for their own games. Without further ado, here they are. The Offical Standardised Rules of EB Mafia 1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Mafia. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Mafia, while the Mafia needs to outnumber the Town. Third-Party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5 vote penalty against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. -
Oooh, I wonder what it could mean?

I'm so glad that you're running a Fabuland themed game! Your collection is very suitable for it. Seriously, there's definitely nothing better than a whole bunch of little furry animals getting together to cause some serious harm. They're so cute and innocent, particularly their faces. Just look at Mike the Monkey, isn't he adorable? And he is a drummer too! Anyway, I would like to play please. I'm not a furry animal, but hopefully you have space for a dragon in there somewhere. I promise not to disappear, apart from usual daily commitments, that is. Pwease unca dinckley? -

With the end of the current game, it is the correct time for me to hand out awards. As you all know, the Mafia Appreciation tag is a highly valued award given out very sparingly. The prerequisites for the award are as follows: The Mafia Appreciation tag is a prestigious award given to a member who has demonstrated quality participation over the course of at least 4 EB Mafia Games to a notably high degree of excellence, whether playing or hosting. Tags will be awarded between games and announced in the General Discussion thread. Tags are awarded at the discretion of an informal select panel of Games staff, headed by the Games Moderator. After some consultation, I have decided to award Lord Arjay with a Mafia Appreciation tag. Although fairly new to the Mafia scene, Lord Arjay proved himself as a cunning fox in his first game, Hogwarts Mafia, driving some of us on the scum side (yes, me) utterly mad. Having survived this game, Arjay gave an admirable effort in Eurodina, this time playing as one of the Mafia families, and was one of the last to die in this, surviving till day 14. He has since survived the most recent two games, making him one of our most promising new players (or at least really lucky ). Thus, as he has now completed four games, I feel he is more than deserving of this tag. Seriously, don't underestimate this guy. Congratulations Arjay, a very well deserved award. There are several more of you who are in the running for one of these. I would love to give out another 4 or so, however it is meant to be an elusive award, and I like you all to have a challenge. So, my challenge to you is keep playing and prove yourselves worthy. Otherwise, you get fed to the dragon. -
As I said earlier, a very good effort JimBee. You made an interesting and fun game to follow which I enjoyed right through to the end, even though I was dead. I would agree with a few that the balance was probably a bit off, further heightened by the success of the town on the first day in particular, but overall it was very well produced and definitely worthy of going in my index. Plus, it's nice to have a town victory every now and then, isn't it? Since everyone is posting their roles, I'll post mine too: I would have liked to have had a chance to use my role, it is a slightly more unusual one which I've never had before. By the way JimBee, I blame you for my death on night one, I always seem to die early in your games! Plus that time you killed me instead of converting me like Shadows suggested in Noir. Yeah, good times. I'll have a couple of announcements to make shortly, stay tuned people.

Awesome game everyone, I am looking forward to seeing all the roles etc. I have to run and catch a train, so I'll have more to say later. I was the thief, so I could steal items. I am curious about what items there were out there that I could steal.

Just to be clear, these are custom parts, correct? Not parts made by TLG?

Dragonator hovers a claw over the ban button. Hmmm, I do sort of like playing with my food though, so you can stay. Quarry is right though, what I was meaning was that 72 hours is the new standard in my as yet still top secret EB standard rules. So there you go. -

What you're doing is fine JimBee, stick to your guns. Messing with the rules now just gives some players leeway to complain later (not that they would ever do that! ). 72 hour days are standard, in fact we'd never had days shorted than 72 hours until Bloodbrick. We've even had a few games with 96 hour days! You'll find that some days the players may want a bit more time to come to a decision, so no point changing it now and then having people getting annoyed later on. -
Happy birthday man, come back to us. I want my damn mini Alamut, after all.

Top secret ones, of course! You can try and discover them, but they are hidden deep within my cave, so I'd recommend not going alone. More people means more for lunch. More food that is. -
We've grown a lot, but we're still a friendly bunch, so if you're ever in doubt or can't find something, give one of the staff a shout and we'd be happy to help. There's always new things to discover looking around, and lots of great people to talk to about them. I hadn't heard of Papo, just looked a few up on Amazon and they don't look too bad. I've never really looked too much at Games Workshop, I figure one expensive hobby is more than enough, but they do make some wonderful figures. Mafia is a hell of a lot of fun. We are going to be running a game for beginners when the current game finishes (in about a month and a half I would say), so if you're interested now is definitely a good time to be starting out. It's a great way to get to know other members in the community, and it's fun getting to kill a few of them too. You may have found it already, but the Mafia Index contains all the links to past games if you ever want to take a look and see what it is about.

Welcome to EuroBricks White Nun! It's great to have another fellow Kiwi on the boards, I think you might be our first Lady from this far down under as well, so that's pretty cool. I enjoyed reading your essay, and although you will find some people who would rip you apart for even thinking the word MegaBloks, we do in fact have a few around here who love it equally as much as Lego, so don't feel bad about that. Although we all know Lego is far, far superior. Castles and Elves, you have to be my favourite new member! And there is a dragon in your picture, so that helps matters a lot too (even if it isn't a Lego one). We have plenty of very talented castle builders who frequent our site, so make sure you check out the history forum here for inspiration. Also, since you have a background in games, you might like to check out our gaming forum. That's my department, you might say. We have a very popular series of Mafia games going, there are some war games floating around, and if you stick around you might even see an RPG later this year. Lastly, if you're looking for tips on finding Lego in NZ, you definitely need to check out this thread. Lots of the locals hang out there, we're a friendly bunch, so feel free to drop by any time. Very nice to meet you, I hope you enjoy your time on our site.

While I disagree that new hosts should try to teach people how to play, do not fear that we have abandoned you. The senior faculty of Mafia School is working on a couple of other projects as well. -
Right... So, this is just an unfounded wishing topic? Maybe when we have some real information about 2012 sets a topic would be appropriate, but until then, I see no point in making up stuff, there is a thread for that already. Topic closed.
