Ninja Castle Subtheme return potential

I don´t see them doing that with Ninjago around honestly. It is not impossible but still very unlikely I think. -

Black Falcon replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Compatibility isn´t really something I would take to rule out sets based on. In the end the only thing that matters is whether and IP got more sets or not. In case of Sonic that really surprised me though, since it didn´t seemed to sell that well to me honestly. Of course we never know how well it is really selling in the end ;). The size - and with that the price is a good point, but then again they would likely not base the popularity of a set by the total number of sales but by how well it is doing compared to other sets of this size. Also I don´t think the licensing would be an issue. In the end when they were able to agree on licensing for this set, there shouldn´t be an issue for licensing for other sets. In the end it will really depend on how good this set is doing and with Dungeons and Dragons having a huge fan-base aswell as the fact that you don´t need to care about the franchise at all, if you are a fan of fantasy stuff this might be just as appealing to you, I would say it doesn´t seem that unlikely that they would do more, though in the end it would likely be two to three years till that happens. On the other side there are surely a lot of Ideas IPs aswell as one time Icons Sets such as Dune that the set would have to stand out from those sales wise to get more. That beeing said, time will tell.- 686 replies

Jurassic Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Honestly, I kinda disliked the Breakout set because of the buildable T-Rex and wished it would have been a moulded one - though its size would have been to small probably. Second issue are the stickers ofc. So anyways I once saw it in a Lego store and since then I own it - some sets just look much better in reality than they do in pictures -

That is what the medium raptor would be for me, yeah. Still very good for the magazine IMO, since I can´t remember getting any other dinosaur in the magazines than the baby raptor. -

You could probably tell 5 Designers to build one and get five different styles out of it, so I don´t think it would have to look to similar to it. The Horntail is another example for a wyvern btw. I guess you are referring to the 2022 horntail, not the 2019 one?- 686 replies

Black Falcon replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Honestly, that is the one I meant when I said that is the only one I found and I didn´t like it. It just doesn´t look good - the Dungeons and Dragons one looks way better to me, no matter if it is going to be a wyvern or a dragon. Well I don´t really mind, whether it is the one or the other, so I will just wait for official pics that will hopefully show us this creature in high res and without the tower, so we can have a good look on it - and well of course the same goes for the other creatures and minifigures.- 686 replies

Which Ninjago Set are you reffering to? I tried to find it the only one I found didn´t look that great to me.As to whether this wyvern is bad designed or not, I will judge when we get better pics. The legs look a bit big to me but very likely they did this to stabilize the wyvern, so I can live with that.- 686 replies

Hm, but I would say that the tail starts right behind the legs that are visible - as for the way to forward legs, we are looking from the front so we might need to wait for better pictures that give us a better view on the dragon from a different angle.- 686 replies

You sure about this? I don´t see anything that would make me think there would be legs there - instead I would think they made a wyvern, not a dragon.- 686 replies

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Black Falcon replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
MF? Yeah well, none of the old ones really would fit to the set, that´s why I would love to see them designed like the stickers. If they would need to make new frames aswell though I can see why they didn´t do it though. Anyways I would already have been happy if they just used the tiles they used but with prints since you could just reuse that part in other themes like for the Winter Village set or Harry Potter etc. I would love to get a set similar to the Mill Village Raid with a barn, windmill and maybe other buildings too, and ofc many different animals. I think there are many people who would buy the set which won´t see the set at all, since just a minority of those who buy lego actually visit their website or stores I think. I agree on how the sets seem less great when you have certain expectations of them, such as it was the case with this set. I often like Lego´s Set better than the fan model though, but ofc it sometimes is also the other way around. There seems to not have been one so I created one. Actually surprising given that it seems to be a quite popular set people are waiting for too. Then again, I think we talked about it a few times in this thread and likely also in others in this subforum. Anyways here you go: -
Since there are the first leaked pictures out now and we seem to (surprisingly) have no thread for it yet, I thought it would be the time to just make one ;). First of all the facts we know so far: Pieces: 3745 Estimated Price: 360$/320£ Release:1st April 2024The Set was made based on a fan design from an Lego Ideas Contest, you can find the winner announcement here. The leaked picture is, as always quite bad quality and can be found in the usual places, so I will wait to judge the build when we got better pictures of it. So far I would say they added a lot details including D&D creatures such as the Beholder and seems to include at least 6 minifigures including a dragonborn using the vidiyo-dragon head in green. Nice catch, as always I fail to see so many details in those low quality-pics. Rogue looks quite obvious but I couldn´t have identyfied the High Elven Druid exactly as this. Also it seems like we are getting a D&D CMF in September: 21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF - Page 3 - LEGO Historic Themes - Eurobricks Forums

Disney Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don´t think they ever were going to do this for the live action film - maybe they considered it at the beginning of the design process, but first leakers wer claiming it would be the original quite a long time ago - though that didn´t stop people from speculating it would be otherwise still. -

Yeah, I would have loved if they would have made a new part for this, something that looks like those stickers. And actually, if I could choose one part to be a print instead of a sticker it would be those. In the end most of the stickers are pretty specific to this set or refering to past Lego Sets, but those shutters could be well used for other themes as well, like Harry Potter for instance. -

Those limits are maximum limits, so I don´t how Lego failt to keep this guideline in Sets when they have less ;). Anyways for BDP those Limits do make sense, since they are made to prevent People from making Minifigure-Packs instead of Sets. I still agree with the fact that there are just not enough Minifigures in this set though. -

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Black Falcon replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That would make sense if they were to include new shields. But the unprinted ones all already existed so you don´t need a placeholder for it. Anyways whether it is a shieldsmith or a shieldpainter having just one shield is a bit disappointing, they could at least have added some more existing shields from the castle. Well it makes sense the painter has some material lying around to work with. Just would also make sense that she has some finished work aswell. -

I wouldn´t agree with that but I think the reason might be how good things sell. Disney and their franchises attract a lot of consumers including kids and likely those sets sell better than castle does. I actually think that the Eldorado Fortress might not have sold that well, hence the cut in it´s EOL-Date. And that might have lead to a gut in the Town Squares budget. I mean if we compare the number of prints, minifigures and animals the Lion Kings Castle had (though they might have given it more budget because it was an aniversary set) The Town Square is clearly lacking in all regards compared to it. Even the Eldorado Fortress seems to have a better budget when we consider the sails and printed parts - unless the Square has more prints than expected. Really looking forward to see reviews of this set. Anyways, it isn´t just Disney but also Ninjago for instance seems to get better budget since it is selling better. -

I am happy there is just one Guard, as each guard would mean one peasant less. I wouldn´t mind if they would have added no guard at all though, of course with the guarded inn it makes sense that there is one. But really I prefer peasants over guards especially since we already got many of them in the castle. As for the rest I agree with you. Seems unlikely they would add a cow in a GWP when they don´t even add it to the set, though I would love if they would do something like that. Then again they would likely only reuse existing torsos and one thing of minifigs in a set is the number of new torsos. For me it sounded more like the things he mentioned were things that were supposed to be part of the set but got cut from it. -

It is not just the animals but the minifigures too. For a Set of this size 10 minifigs really would have been the minimum I would have expected and getting only eight actually is the same number of minifigures we got in the old market village even though the size of this one is bigger. And if we are comparing both of them same goes for the animals. We have three big animals in the old set, two cows and one horse in this we didn´t got one, though I feel like the cow should just be included for two reasons: First of all it was one of the main things in the old village and it would just have been great to add something from the old village to the new one. Secondly, they made a cheese maker in this set and all they have to make cheese from is one goat. Sure we can buy more cows and goats and sheeps and whatever else from PAB, but as I mentioned above, there is a big difference in the price they are asking there and how much they would have increased the sets price if they were included. And yeah, if you ask me if they would have added maybe two minifigs more, and also more animals as in the prelim this set would sell better even though obviously they would ask more money for it. And in the end we all would benefit from better sales since it is more likely we would get more sets like this in the future. I guess the decoration/design makes it to that. Anyways I would have rather liked to get a Wolfpack shield instead of this one. Sure it would be strange if the shieldpainter would paint their shield, but I would just like to get their shield. The painter could just paint one of the existing ones instead. Or they could have just made a new shield not belonging to the Lion Knights. Jedi Bob should get a wolfpack print on his cape. I would guess 5 months but we just can be certain when they actually show up. Anyways they will be gone fast so it will take some time till they will stay available It seemed to me like he wasn´t very happy with both the Stickers and the missing cow (and very likely also that he couldn´t add more minifigs, hence the missing parents). And yeah the number of stickers are very sad I hope there are at least some printed pieces for this set. The shield so far is the only one I noticed. Waste of budget to me. Either it was made for another set and they just used it, or they should have used their budged for something else like more prints or a shield for the wolfpack. My guess for a GWP would be a Wolfpack one. Likely based on the wolfpack renegades. I wonder if we could get shields for this one since they don´t need to make new torsos or anything. Still seems unlikely but I guess we can just hope they would do it. -

It would surprise me if the Medieval Town Square would only stay around for less than two years so there should be plenty of time to get them. Though I agree that the Classic Spacemen came to Pick a Brick quite late. Anyways the minifigures will be sold out quick when they first show up at pick a brick for sure but after some time it should be easy to get them, like with other popular figures. I don´t know, I see many stickers even on the lower quality pictures already and considering that the other Sets like Lion Knights Castle, Galaxy Explorer and Eldorado Fortress had not Stickers at all, this would be a very poor decision. Though of course it is possible that they still will be prints as we had stickers on the first photos of the Lion Knights Castle too, which turned out to be prints in the end. Then it would actually be pretty awesome since there would be some very nice parts with this set. Honestly I would have rather paid some more to get the things they removed from the prelim back. In the end sure you can buy a cow and such at pick a brick, but if we are beeing realistic here, if they would include a cow more they wouldn´t add the same amount of money to the set they are asking for it on pick a brick. It will be exclusive for three months at least. But I would expect that one of Lego´s exclusive partners will get it too later like with the Galaxy Explorer, Eldorado Forgtress and Viking Village. Though of course it is also possible that it will stay exclusive. -

The only reason really is because the Blacktron GWP minifigure was avaiable. Anyways I wonder why that one was avaiable, as normally GWP exclusive minifigure aren´t sold at Pick a brick.
