LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Black Falcon replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, well I think we can be happy about it, because IMO it didn´t look that great. -
Oh with the Aarakocra, I´ve read through the list 3 times and everytime I didn´t find the dog lol.

There are both, two legged and four legged dragons, with the two legged ones called wyverns - we even discussed whether the big dragon in the D&D set would be either the one or the other. I would kinda expect four legs for the small one, I guess the dog is meant to be in the big set, since I haven´t seen a mention about it in the CMF discriptions? I wish they would do that - but at the same time I fear it aswell, because I would be highly exited about it but at the same time, I could also be very disappointed, if it doesn´t turn out to look really good - and especially looks really like a wolf and not like another dog. I would expect a new mould for it, since all the existing moulds look to much like dog. Though I agree it might be not that easy to design a mould that really makes us say, yes that is a wolf, not a dog. After all Lego isn´t doing a scale copy of it but is doing a legolook version.

I would guess if they would make a new film about them, it might be possible to get sets but without that the chance is quite a lot lower IMO. Best chance would maybe be through Ideas.

On reddit it is noted that the cape and the lightsword were added by the leaker and might be different in the set. -

Not sure if that is the set it was made for, but the Dungeons and Dragons Set seems to have the same door. -

Stll interesting they knew that then though. I mean you don´t exactly go there and tell everyone, well I want them for D&D. Anyways, if it wouldn´t have been them, it would be castle fans and resellers. I think avaiability of those figures was quite bad, because they were quite popular. I would wait for the final pictures to show up before judging it. I mean we don´t even know how the minifigures really look and so on. Eitherway there is still time to get that set, not like we would have to buy it day one. Though, I also still have enough Sets I want to get but very likely I won´t get all of them - not that I actually would have the space for any lol.- 686 replies

That would be 4 then, though Hair and Face were also exclusive so actually 6. If we look at the GWP we have the the new white baby head + Torso, the new blue head print and stickers - which would be 4 already plus the new transparent elements. Though if it is true that it works like every unprinted part needs one budget point (or however we want to call it) and a second for every print we would actually need two more for the white space baby.

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Black Falcon replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I personally don´t see an issue with people saying what they expected from a set or would have wanted to see included, as long as it is not just to say something negative and there are actually also the things they like mentioned. Also I have to say that I actually think that the discussion about the vegetables was quite interesting and was adding more to the conversation in this thread than just to say it is fantasy, they can do whatever ;). -

Exactly my thought. Normal figures will always wear the same clothes unless you have a second one with different painting. And you can also just swap out weapons a fig is holding quickly.- 686 replies

There are some people out there that already use Lego for their roleplaying so I can totaly see this happening. In the end Lego has a lot advantages compared to the usual figures and evnviroments used as it is way more cutomizable and changable. I mean you could build a whole playboard with working traps, movable walls and secret passages aswell as customized opponents. I think when you have begun doing so it will be hard to stop ;).- 686 replies

Black Falcon replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Ah thanks, thought he also meant a wave 4 Forestmen set. But yeah I agree that both of them don´t look bad and I might get the forestmen set. As for the Mountain Fortress, it isn´t bad an certainly has some very nice details but overall it didn´t appeal to me that much. But not every Set can appeal to everyone so that´s fine. -

Black Falcon replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well I wouldn´t just rule out all coming sets of those themes just because you didn´t like certain sets. Icons and Ideas still bring good sets out, but as always now every set might appeal to everyone, though I agree with you that the newer classic themes sets have a hard time compared to the Lion Knights Castle. I do think they were very generous with that ones Budget because it was a 90 Year celebration set though. Do you happen to have links? -

Black Falcon replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Why not? No theme will ever please everyone but with Dungeons and Dragons you can please Fans of this franchise, Fantasy in general and Castle in one go. And surely there will be some parts that are also usefull for other themes. They are not doing it for the ideas set but for the same reason they did the ideas Set. With Dungeon and Dragons celebrating it´s 50th anniversary it is the best time to do it now, while you can do other themes next year as good as this. Also I can´t say much how many characters are missing from Animal crossing but there are many already in the sets, so no idea what we would need a CMF for - and honestly those figures don´t really have that detailed prints so a CMF kinda seems like a waste on it to me, but that is just a personal opinion. As for Fortnite, they might do that one day but I am not really more interested on that one than I am for Animal Crossing.- 686 replies

Ah that makes more sense than including two halflings and not including any Elf at all. I had to look some up when the list got posted here. I knew some of them but certainly not all.Githyanki is a race I never heard before for instance.- 686 replies

Ok, honestly I didn´t think you meant this serious but even better if we are really getting it. Might be the first series where I might a whole box. The Aarakocra might become my favourite if done well and I am glad we get many different characters, though i would have kinda prefered to have more random characters instead of the enemy ones - and well something else instead of two Halflings :P. Anyways I expect many cool parts and torso prints from it.- 686 replies

I wish they would, it is very unlikely another license would have more appeal to me than one that would give us several fantasy minifgures. Though I fear the chances for it aren´t great.- 686 replies

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Black Falcon replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
They changed all other Shields to - and it doesn´t look that different to me, though it is kinda hard to find good pics of the new Logo. I am still voting for Wolfpack-GWP for this year - as for other sets, we still have two moments sets for this year, one space, the other one could be pirates, which could mean we already get a new castle set for next year. Time will tell. Well, I would have loved to get the shield, but realistically it wouldn´t really fit in the set. Back in the old Sets the Wolfpack were bandits that raided carts etc - so a shield was usefull for them but this guy is more a sneaky thief, so a shield would just hinder him. I see more of an issue that the wolfpack is known as bandits and the shieldpainter likely wouldn´t want to make a shield for them. However I just hope, that now that we got the wolfpack we also will get a set with them, where they are including shields. They could even make a gwp and make the shield for it since they don´t need to make a new torso - though of course it still seems unlikely and it also would be bad to only get the shield through a gwp. I would have loved to get just a new cool shield that is totally unrelated to any faction honestly. Way better than an other Lion Knights shield. Also as we have seen in the Designer interviews they had included a normal Lion Knights shield but that one got replaced by a plain one, same as the viking shield. Still asking myself why they did that at a point where they even revealed it, knowing that those videos will be shown to the public. -
Jurassic Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
The Elves dragons and other creatures are a similar case like the Ninjago Dragons IMO. And they all have a certain size, where it is easier to do. The posability depends on the moulds though. And yeah I was very disappointed by how they made the Brachiosaurus, and also dislike the newer dilophosaurus mould, because you can´t even move the legs anymore, the old one was just so much better - but yeah the more parts the more it costs in the end. -
Ninja Castle Subtheme return potential
Black Falcon replied to Fulcrumfan91's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Noone here expressed a negative opinion about the theme, but a set beeing released for it is just very unlikely because of the reasons mentioned. Sure the classic Ninjas are very different from Ninjago but I still don´t think Lego would do a Set that is competing with its own theme even if both have a very different aproach. Wolfpack got three sets and that was it - though they also appeared in other sets but even then it´s just 6 Sets in total they appear which were released from 1992-1993, so they were actually around just a short time compared to the Forestment for instance but still they are one of the most famous factions I think. Why are those themes obscure to you? Wolfpack just got a minifigure in the new Medieval Town Square so at least a GWP including them sounds very likely to me actually. -

It can basically mean anything. Maybe they already have plans for something, maybe he is just hoping for more or he is just referring to a GWP. -

Jurassic Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Black Falcon replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Honestly, that wouldn´t look great at all. They made the same with fluffy in the Harry Potter series and I am really no fan of that one. Also it would be very hard to build dinosaurs with bricks especially the smaller ones but even the T-Rex. Anyways I´d prefer Brickbuild over a mix in many cases, though for the Dragons in Ninjago I would actually say the mix is great. Another thing is that many buy those sets for the dinos only, and I do belive without the moulded dinosaurs, the sales would be a lot worse and the theme likely already retired. Yeah as I said a moulded dinosour wouldn´t fit size wise anyways, The issue is just that the bigger the size the better and more detailed you can build an dinosaur/brickbuilt creature in general. The T-Rex from the Rampage set looks way better than the breakout one for instance. And I my issue wasn´t that the breakout one wasn´t a moulded dinosaur but that it, while generally beeing a great built it had some major issues. One thing for sure are the grey parts or the stickers for the eyes but I think what I most dislike about it is the feet. They don´t look like T-Rex-feet at all, more like he is wearing shoes :)
