  1. IC: De'kra clicked in response, "Team should not hurt ally soldiers, nor soldiers hurt Team. Especially in war time. No matter who wins such fight, both will be weaken from fight and not able to defeat rogue Lion Knights as easily. At least allow discussion before rash actions are taken, there is nothing to lose." "If soldiers not listen to reason and Cronk," De'kra commented softly to the other heroes, "I have an idea. Maybe Xander could use his turn to give his horse to Galan, who could flee battlefield. Galan could ride horse to Emperor to inform him of situation, hopefully before anyone is hurt. Then news could reach people here, and stop skirmish. Could this work?" "If that idea would not work," clicked De'kra in conclusion, "I will engage Soldier B from front row if fight is not avoidable." The echo fingered Kapura, ready to use him if necessary, though hoping not to have too.
  2. I suppose so, they just seem similar to me. Maybe it's because they are both mainstream fictional creatures. You see them so often they just seem kind of dull and usual, to the point they seem to blend. Like how European dragons and werewolves are completely different, but both seem kind of boring to me.
  3. The reason I am personally wary of that interpretation is that it makes fampirs seem more like glorified zombies rather than their own entities. I suppose the sunlight thing and the bat form is different enough, but not all versions have the latter ability.
  4. I know that, if it was I won't play this. That thing made me strike that word from my vocabulary, I can only say gloaming now when I refer to the meeting of day and night. However the point still stands, we are unaware if Olegaia vampire operate by the same rules as typical classic vampire. The garlic connection implies that they operate by classic rules, but I don't want to make any judgements. It always struck me oddthat vampires are undead in fiction, because usual vampires are made through infection. It seemed to me like they operated like that invisible race from Star Trek the Next Generation, the one who infected Le Forge. Not undead, just infectious. But that was just my take on it.
  5. But do we know if Olegaia vampire are undead?
  6. Those rogues are going die. I suggest running as fast as you can, you already know that garlic hurts him, and he has power over bats, and that he is possible undead, I think that is enough information to call a retreat.
  7. IC: De'kra clicked, "You try to stay safe as well. Remember what I said about Rito. It not that I suspect them of anything, but any information should be recall." The echo wondered briefly to himself why Arthur disliked the healer of the group, before reasoning tha it was irrelevant. De'kra is always initially wary around Mages and Clerics, especially the latter. And like Tomas before her, this healer seemed fine, although a little overly assertive earlier on.
  8. Luckily nobody in Dastan suspected that Xander carries a full sized horse in his pocket...
  9. Heroica Hall presents: Night of the Lepus.
  10. IC: De'kra clicks, "Group should purse Russel I think. Not only he most likely traitor, but he was and heroes and I in cultists caverns whole time, group has no clue if he took something from cultists when Team was busy fighting." Turning to Arthur and the rest of the other group De'kra clicked, "By way, in town Team heard about race of bird people in Dastan. They call themselves Rito and live in mountains. From what we heard they not fond of Dastan Emperors, and have little contact and outside world. I not sure if they might help rogue Lion Knights, as sources claim they not actively hostile towards empire and make no attacks or anything. But Rito could always give passive aid that hard to trace, like ignore fact Lion Knights take refuge in their mountains or something. I not sure if they would that, I hope they not involve cause they bird people, but you never know. Just keep they existence in mind."
  11. I wasn't going to post again tonight, as my eyelids are under attack by gravity and the light of my computer is painful to look at when sleepy. But let me just say...Awesome.
  12. Okay Okay Because it singles individuals out. As I said, it no longer is about a situation where there is a lot of roleplaying and it is hard to jump into, it is about individuals who are making things harder for everyone. It shifts from a discussion about a situation, to a blame game. I suppose if it had focused more on the where/when (Quest 29/31 crossover) rather than the who (De'kra and Arthur) it would have been easier to swallow, as no one was directly blamed for the situation. But in giving names the focus can shift to the individuals causing the situation. Understood, I apologize if I got overzealously defensive.
  13. Xarrzan: perhaps you are right, but I disagree on one main point. The talks, at least to me, occurred after Skrall and Cronk had calmed the groups, so it seemed like some side talk would be fine. If the heroes were still choosing their attacks then yeah, it would have been out of place, but I felt like everyone had been talked down. At the moment I felt like the groups were feeling up each other, and one talk led to another. I agree that the odds are that players here are not hostile, but intent is hard to read over the computer. Plus certain, potentially innocent, key words were said that provoked me. And intent aside, it is hard to notice anything but a key phrase. In order: I read it many times before I replied. Saying "I don't mean to be rude" and "almost" does not negate evety impact words have, from one who knows. Rather the words still stand out, and in fact reading them multiple times can make the words/phrases seem "louder." Likewise tone can not be read on the internet, and thus it is impossible to know when someone is being sarcastic or sincere. If you were innocent of hostility I apologize, but that is how it came across to me. I do not deny the Bionicle things were not connected to the events at hand, but you bunched it all together in an absolute that we were off in our "own world." (which is insulting in oh so many ways, half of them probably unintentional on your part. Still, a berserk button is a berserk button) For an example of plot related speaking one of the things De'kra suggested to Arthur was that Wren might be involved in the journals, which directly involves the plot. We also spent a fair amount of posts discussing the potions we got from the cultists, and whether or not Arthur should drink it. Arthur also suspected if Karzahni was connected to Abraxas, a foe around since Quest 3. And the mention of Olisi was De'kra's subtle way of seeing if Arthur's behavior was because he saw a possible future version of himself doing terrible things. The thing is that you didn't talk to us first, or at least me. Instead you spoke right to the entire Roleplaying group without giving us a chance to talk about it in private or for us to stop. There was a time and a place to ask other players about this, but shouldn't the players you were singling out by name have a chance to give their take on it first? And why use names? Just ask what players think about large amounts of roleplaying and walls of text in general, you don't have to put anyone on a metaphorical chopping block by naming them. You had claimed you were having a hard time jumping in, so I had assumed that you would have been online reading for sometime before Galan's comment, and thus would have had plenty of time to hint to move on. I apologize for misunderstanding. There were plenty of ways to word it without being hostile. Like not talking about the discussion of Arthur and De'kra at all, but agreeing that the missions were indeed urgent and/or collaborating about what plan of action to take. Nothing has to be directly said to players, subtly is fine. Again, you didn't ask if walls of text were good. You asked if De'kra and Arthur's walls of texts were good. Once you name names, it changes the game. Suddenly it isn't a behavior being analyzed, but individuals. And even if done innocently or just to list examples, it can make the individuals feel like they are being probed and judged.
  14. I missed the above Some things on this, from my point of view. First thing, you sound kind of hostile. Okay, just plain hostile, no passive modifiers this time around. I mean "Flipz and Tanma's own "world?" "spamming?" Do you how that comes off? I have no idea if those feelings was going on for a while in Quest 31 and thus annoyance with it built up over time, but that is part of the point. I didn't know. Try mentioning these thoughts to the players privately before getting upset, odds are they are not trying to take over the RPG. I tend to RPG as I go, the only time I planned for a side part was in Quest 4, and I asked for QM permission before hand. I don't mean to hijack anything. But if you don't talk to me about it, I can't do anything. Do not forget that this is an RPG. If it is logical for character interactions, it would be OOC and poorly played not to do so. De'kra and Arthur haven't communicated in a while and Arthur seems different, De'kra is going to be curious. We do care about our characters and so we would take that time to let them grow. Perhaps there was an excess of commuing and some padding, but hardly spamming. All of it made sense in context, it was still about Heroica and it often still involved the situations at hand. (wondering if Wren was affecting the books using Cronk's guess about Hans, anything about the potions, ect...) If you felt like you couldn't talk, why not tell our characters to move on like Galan did? Since he hinted that we should stop talking, the two of us have been focusing more on the plot rather than Character development.
  15. Its not necessarilly traitorous to turn on your employer and aid the opponents, sometimes it just means putting principle and honor over blind faith. If the heroes of Quest 4 had done that, there would have been no War in the North, less violence in Dastan, and the real criminals might have been stopped.
  16. Again I have not watched it, but my sister is pretty "bummed out" by LoK. And her mild depression is serious as her defaut reaction to disappointment is anger and snarking, never moping around. Now when I asked her five minutes ago for her thoughts on Korra, she entered a quick hard to remember depressed rant. (she must never read this post) The main point she attempted to get across was that she felt like the show did more telling than showing. I take it to mean that people use exposition too much rather than acting things out. She also moped about the love triangle, but she admits that is a result of her inability to understand how anyone could love Mako.
  17. IC: De'kra nodded and attempted to use the Cloak of the Elven Spy to scout out the enemy power levels. "I not sure it works unless I know where enemies are and have line of sight. I have not attempt to use it this way, so there chances that it will not work."
  18. I had no idea Erik could tell when his name was said with a c rather than a k. It reminds me of a certain Lich.
  19. Agreed, I'm with Erik on this one too. Blue dude was in the wrong, but he had good reasons and seems willing not to repeat again.
  20. To clarify, the catch Arthur got was De'kra's He just didn't comment on it.
  21. OOC: good catch by Arthur IC: De'kra shook his head, "Karzahni land also not realm, you can walk there from Great City of Metru-Nui, or any other location in...I universe. It not a separate plane, just different island encase in massive dome, like all islands back home save two glorious lands. As for Zoot himself, I never heard of him or any other people worship in Uland in I past. I was not familar and concept of physical chaos before I came here, though physical evil was known. Karzahni could however scan minds of almost anyone though, which Wren can too. But all in all I think there no relation. In I memories all I knew of as gods were Great Beings themselves and Ma..." De'kra's eyes dimmed for a second and his emotionless face fell, before he continued, "Not important right now. On matter of diet, people of I homeland not need to eat so much, but when they need to they eat through their hands." De'kra glanced at Galan and replied, "It might be good idea to head out soon, though team should wait for Commander's answers. After that Team could probably head back to Emperor if time urgent."
  22. OOC: maybe the reason De'kra and Arthur get along is because they both love exposition. IC: De'kra shook his head no and explained, "You know how I sometimes describe things as Karzahni? Karzahni is place near home where villagers were sent to be...heal. It always frightful place, and volcanoes of burn ice and terrible monster crabs. But ruler of realm, who Karzahni was name for, was terrible healer, and anyone who came there end up twist and distort. Karzahni ruler began to keep villagers sent to him to hide his failure, and force them to build monuments in his honor. If villager not work, or even just stay still for minute, theyir bodies would turn to stone. When I compare place to Karzahni, I say it place of eternal undeserve pain, where cruelty and evil rules." "This face of Karzahni ruler," continued De'kra, "Or at least, his mask. It pretty much same thing, as if he lost his mask, much of his strength would be lost. It is same and almost all mask wear people back home, it so bad for villagers that they slip into comas if they are without masks for short periods of time. But Karzahni has one of kind mask, made by Creators themselves. It is Olisi, Great Mask of Alternate Futures. Olisi allows user to see possible future, or another timeline where different choices were made. One can see alternate past, present, and future and Olisi, though it not as dangerous as Olmak. It is powerful weapon though, Karzahni ruler would use it to break will of villagers sent to him, by show them all ways they could have mess up, or could mess up. And if you threat to him he might show you reality where you not make mistakes of past, utopian timeline. You might feel such joy to see old friends alive, that you willingly forget you are in vision, and forget true history for you. but unlike Olmak if you break this mask and it not work again." "I am pretty sure Karzahni ruler not involve in I amnesia though, " commented De'kra, "Last I heard he was driven mad by great evil I often mention, after Karzahni ruler show him world where his plan fail and Great Spirit Mata-Nui punish great evil for his betrayal. Great Evil not like pain he felt in that vision, probably help to fuel him to his success. Regardless Karzahni ruler is vegetable now, at least his brain is that of vegetable. Not count mobile plants of course. You think artifact like Olisi might be connect to journal system, similar word to it in runes. Might there be possibility that Olisi could distrupt journals?"
  23. OOC: anyone know what this is? (Note, the Matoran language is an entire language, I do not doubt that there are other currently unknown words that could fulfill the requirements of these letters. So feel free to reject De'kra's not yet mentioned theory in your plans for the journal) IC: De'kra glanced at Arthur to notice a slight intensity, lurking beneath the surface. De'kra gazed carefully at the journal once more, hoping to find more specific runes. Finally he caught sight of a damaged word that said -l-si. De'kra turned to Arthur and commented, "I think I found something in runes, might factor into journal ability. Might you know this image?" The shade drew an image in his journal, that of a strange patched together face with two large horns, an few spikes on the top, and with a demented grin. The echo showed the image to Arthur, his face still unchanging.
  24. Not to mention whose quest Arthur is in at the moment...
  25. Yeah I am glad I have yet to watch LoK, as I get the feeling it would turn me against the whole franchise. Originally I just couldn't find the time to watch it, but after my hard core fan of a sister got depressed over the writing, I began to actively avoid it. According to her the only interesting characters are the three young Airbenders, and Bolin to a degree. She claims the main issue that in Avatar: the Last Airbender the writers had a team od editors, while in LoK they do not. I am not sure how accurate that it though. Agreed, every episode I start off by yelling at Fury. I just want to rip out his voice box with Loki's funky helmet so help me. The recaps have started to get on my nerves a little too, I am okay with recaps on occasion like for multiple part episodes or finales, but so much of an episodes plot gets ruined by constant recaps. Yes television we know he is a Skrull, we remember the finale of Season 1. I agree action should be the primary focus, but I do appreciate the character interactions as well. So I agree on that point, but not completely.
