Just curious, for anyone watching Quest 30/209 at the moment, is De'kra still in character? I was kind of unprepared for this event, and would like some feedback.

Heroica RPG - Quest #30: Ambassadors to Dastan
Tanma replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
IC: De'kra's eyes sparked a bright green, as his mind erupted in rage. That...witch...had suggested using that bomb, he knew what it could do! He was just as guilty as Tarn, the Nidhiki to his Tuyet. Was he trying to make things right? Because they were not going to make this right! And most of all, De'kra didn't deserve that weapon. There was a part of his mind that must have known Constance was innocent of being a traitor, it didn't match her profile at all. It was just like Quest 4, only worse. She was too loyal to Dastan, and with a special like Deceive he should have known Felton couldn't be trusted, at least not fully. He had struggled to think of reasons not to attack, reasons to be neutral, but he had pushed the most obvious ideas away. Her hatred of outsiders had been a burning sensation to his ears, it was just like the callousness of the houses of Eubric. At some level in his mind, could he have registered that even if Constance was innocent, that it was better that she would be dead, like the house leaders? That even if she was innocent, she deserved to die? De'kra shuddered at that thought, that such coldness might lurk with him. Taking the sword from Atramor, De'kra handed the Dragon's Heart to Galen. "I not deserve such power," he clicked to the room, "It should really go to leader of all of heroes, but he not skill in it's art. Galen stood by leader in battle, leader would prefer he have it. He deserve it far more." De'kra noticed Nerwen touching him while saying something. "You alright?" he clicked with concern, "Potion and Cronk's power help?" OOC: leader is Sarick by the way. -
I knew it! Well, my first guess was that you would try to use your horse to outrun the damage, but the decoy was my second guess.

OOC: De'kra, Nerwen, and Xander have been give potions, though Galen has refused his. IC: The echo watched as Cronk healed everyone, though De'kra had alreay used three of his potions healing himself and others. As the heroes recovered De'kra clicked, "Thank you Cronk. Wh-what you think heroes should enact now?" -
Yeah fallout from this is bould to last. It will never be over-finished!

IC: De'kra darted back to Galen, who had apparently refused the potion. De'kra shuddered, time was getting more unwoven. Not only did battles freeze long enough for long discussions, but events were happening out of order. First the commander's answers, then Galen's refusal, the time stream seemed unstable, but why? The echo pushed those thoughts out of his head as he returned to Galen. "Nerwen still not conscience," he clicked, "Cronk not available, and you seem to be near death. I am no expert on human bodies, but you need to heal now." There was a brief pause before De'kra whispered to himself in a sad tiny chirp, "Even if Constance was guilty, this was not worth it." OOC: someone needs to make a quest relating to these problems with chronological order. OOC: Don't worry, De'kra is just making sure everyone is okay. Then he will snap at Tarn/Tuyet. -

IC: De'kra looked around to spot Xander stirringt. Quickly the echo darted over to the barbarian, careful to avoid walking on the other fallen heroes. "You alright Hammer Hero?" he clocked as softly as he could, before his tone grew grim, "Tuyet use some sort of bomb to devastate battlefield. Everyone is hurt, though you and other correct heroes took most of damage." The echo looked around as the Metasimian helped Tarn to his feet. There was something familiar about the Metasimian, though not in a meaningful way. He probably had just seen him in the hall a few times. OOC: he probably would have used it just in case anyway. -
Before I discovered Heroica, I asked my sister what class of character she could most easily see me Roleplaying as. Her two responses were a Rogue, and a Priest. At the time I only agreed with the Rogue portion, but it is interesting to consider in light of current events.

Heroica RPG - Quest #30: Ambassadors to Dastan

IC: Nerwen was talking to long to recovery, and De'kra could only grow more frantic. The guards were agitated now, and Felton was being led away. How had this gone so wrong. It was supposed to be a battle, not a cauldron of chaos! How could this happen? Had Wren done the deed, it seemed like her handiwork? No, something else had happened. As the shock lessened De'kra remembered Atramor speaking to Tarn about something... The echo stumbled back in horror, as the events leading to the explosion finally clicked. Heroes had done this, heroes De'kra had worked with! How could someone do such a thing! This attack destroyed good people, ravaged their bodies and charred their skin! Even the allies of Tarn and Atramor were roasted by the attack! It was...horrifying. All this chaos, all this destruction, all this pain, because a bunch of heroes wanted the battle over quickly! And this rash attack harmed everyone, no one was spared! How could so done willingly use such an explosive attack around such frail people? Tired of waiting for Nerwen, De'kra raced over to Galen, and poured a potion into his mouth. -
Let's just hope that we are all up to it, I find myself already thinking that my last post didn't do the scene justice.

And thus the journey to Assassin is complete. Ironically the final justification for it happened when De'kra reached level fifteen and killed a person for the wrong reasons.

IC: De'kra winces as he awakes among the smell of ash and flames. Slowly he rises to his feet, and downs a potion. As his senses return, the echo stumbles back in horror. The room was completely destroyed, rubble lay scattered about among flames and heat. And scattered about were the fallen bodies of the other heroes. As he recovered from the initial shock, De'kra activated his cloak, searching for the most wounded. Everyone on Constance's side was out like a light, their health at it's lowest tiller. Quickly the echo dragged himself through the rubble, and pushed Xander's hand into a potion. "Not drinking! Not drinking!" said the echo with growing panic, "No, mouth!" the echo moved the potion in a frantic motion and poured it down the barbarian's mouth. After a quick check on Xander, the echo raced over to Nerwen. Quickly he poured a potion into her throat, just as the Emperor and company entered. As Felton and the others spoke, De'kra clicked to Nerwen frantically, "are you okay? Galen and Leader are near dead, they need heal if you can." -
Not necessarily, all Atramor affected was round two, you could still maime him to death in round one, if I understand the system right. Atramor's actions will just give him back health for round two if you didn't manage to kill him in your attack in round one. Either way, it all comes down to Tarn and Xander now...

Agreed, the Roleplaying elements that come from such a destructive weapon are limitless I already have De'kra's reaction planned, if the bomb works of course and nothing major changes.

Yeah, I tried to have an open mind about the factory when it came outt, but it just isn't as good. It just
I still am not sure who my overall favorite is, there were so many greats. I did always like Kopaka, probably because he is (incoming pun) so cool. But I also enjoyed the Kikenalo, along with Jaller, Kapura, Lihkan, Krika, and Tren Krom, if we are count...

Quest 28: The Breakthrough-up Also, thank you so much Tarn for using the bomb (assuming you survive the first round)
-
...that Bomb must be used...

Anyone hear of Gunnerkrigg Court? Its a webcomic I found about three weeks ago, and I find myself intriqued.
-
No wait, I have another suggestion. Perhaps the identity of the true foe can be deduced by recounting word for word everything Nifty-Hat and Badgermum has ever done and said, including prior quests. The heroes should think long and hard about this after all... But on a serious note, what did Tarn and William get, and why do I think that De'kra is going to react badly too it?

Heroica RPG - Quest #30: Ambassadors to Dastan

IC: De'kra sjhakes his head at the healer and clicks, "I suspect Cronk would target Constance as best he could, I doubt that he would not try to harm heroes. Either way, Let Team hope Heroes and I miss each other, and only hit Felton and Constance. Any suggestion to I attack? I plan to target Constance from Back Row, but if there reason not too I will listen." The echo readied Kapura, who glowed a calming flame against his hand. OOC: Constance counts as a humanoid right? OOC: also, you are Makutaspawn. -

IC: De'kra nodded and clicked, "I not understand that logic of mouse stache, but I will accept it. I suggest that as long as you can you not target other heroes, and that once Felton or Constance fall, or both of them if you must, you flee. I plan to enact that as well, if I can. I mean no disrespect to other heroes side and Felton, but once Constance, or Constance and Felton, are dead, there is not much point to fight on. And I prefer not to fight I allies. If you have good reason for I not to flee once those conditions met I will listen, if not please understand." -
Thank you, and no you did not seem angry at all. Although I am not a mod (and frankly couldn't handle the stress. I admire anyone who can actually take that stress, and still return for a second or third mastering) I have to agree that I enjoy seeing Moderators and Players trying to outwit each other using the moderator's own rules. That is probably why I enjoy Darth's and Droids, the two sides are constantly adapting and outwitting each other, to the point where the whole RPG changed direction. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if the heroes of Quest 4 had turned on Issac at the end. The Brobric/Lion war might not have happened, and the Knights might not have grown so proud to attack Dastan. If the heroes hadn't thought about the situation more, they could have completely changed the Dastan Quests and possibly destroyed Quest 17 entirely. So I have to ask, did the three of you have a plan if we had realized what the Shadeaux had done?

Heroica RPG - Quest #30: Ambassadors to Dastan
Tanma replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
IC: De'kra clicked, "Loyalty can be noble quality, I can understand your decision Hammer Hero. Not to mention that and all that has happen in Dastan, everything is confuse and itis hard to tell who to trust. I will bare no grudge even if I am right. Just try to remember I suggestion not to target other heroes, exclude accidents of course. I still have to stand and Felton, I am sorry but I think that Constance more likely to be guilty." De'kra paused, there was something wrong here. But try as he might, he could not tell the source of this alien feeling. OOC: Muh-ha-ha-ha. -
Ah, okay then. I see where you are coming from then. I just want to know one thing though, will there be other battles for the members of Quest 29 after this? Just curious, if one was to compare and constrast this discussion with the one about the meeting of Quest 31 and 29, is my tone less defensive here? I realize the text samples are fewer and smaller, but is there enough for a verdict?

I can understand doing what the Questmaster says, but this seems...illogical. The way it seems designed is quite...cynical, you can only make one decision, you can't change it, you can't decide to stop. It kind of throws off the sense of being a part of the game, because you can't change your mind or think outside the box. Instead you only have a few moves and can not reverse them once decided, while humans in real life can adapt and can change their plans depending on what occurs. And based on what many members of Quest 29 have said, there is no logical reason for them to fight each other once this is over. While I understand under most circumstances a player will eventually have to fight, I am suggesting that those who wish to stop do so, and let their allies duel. If their allies win they never have to move a muscle. I believe it has been mentioned that a hero can pass up their turn in a battle, though usually doing so would earn the ire of their comrades. De'kra can actually do one better, as a Rogue he could flee the battle at any time, and remove himself completely. And anyone with a smoke bomb could remove their entire side as well, and since I assume the NPC's can't resurrect themselves, they still will be dead regardless if the other group flee.
