  1. I think me and De'kra would get along, I already have a one-sided friendship with him outside of Heroica. Quit ignoring me! Fight, talk, do something! Why do you keep laying there! Why won't you talk to me! Why... Aside from that the main obstacle would be my inability to separate myself from the characters I play. There is a point where I forget where I begin and De'kra ends, and it is hard to be friends with yourself. (and kind of sad) But most of the time I recognize the boundry between what humans call reality and fiction. And other times I get depressed when characters insult De'kra and have to wait to calm down before I can reply. But at least that helps me figure out how De'kra should react at points when our behaviors are parallel. It gets really bad when I keep dying in games. I still get Legend of Zelda flashbacks, and I still am slightly scared of segmented arthropods. Help me Medli...Quill...Tetra...anyone... ...Yeah I was dying repeatively in the first dungeon, De'kra's luck in Quest 4 is actually realistic for me.
  2. ...how would they acquire unicorn meat? I suppose that virgin hunters could go into the forest to lure out a unicorn, and then when the unicorn is relaxed, the virgin would slits it's throat. Maybe there are entire cattle farms run entirely by virgins, to keep the unicorns docile. Phoenix wings make more sense though, and since a Phoenix will reincarnate all you need is one.
  3. Yes, watch A: TLA. It was a thing of beauty. If you need quick information on the show, the cast, and the nature of the avatar, it has a nice wiki which also has information on LoK. Just remember that the articles with the word fanon in the title are fan made, and not show accurate. But it is far better to actually see the show yourself. I agree that it won't make sense for Aang to be resurrected twice. Keep in mind that Aang's resurrection was quite odd. One, he nearly died in the Avatar State. That was bad, because if an Avatar dies normally, a new one will be reincarnated. But if an Avatar dies in the Avatar State, the cycle of reincarnation would be broken and no more Avatars will be born. And two, he was only saved thanks to the unique North Pole water from the pool of the Ocean and Moon Spirits, introduced way back at the end of Book One. Judging by the fact that the Avatar cycle still exists I am guessing such an event is rare if not impossible, so the effects of it might not be known. But we don't know how old Amon is, he might have been born in the several weeks Aang was mostly dead. Interestingly I have yet to see a full episode of Korra, though I am trying. I think part of the problem is that in a way it would be saying goodbye to the Gaang, and leaving them behind in the past.
  4. I recently saw Chimpanzee as well. Most of it I liked, but I felt a little annoyed by the characterization of certain Chimpanzees. Throughout the movie Freddy's troop is described as a team, a group, and so on, while Scar's troop is called an army or simply "the rivals." The second I heard Scar's nickname I couldn't help but think, "designated villian." I also noticed that we never saw the children of Scars troop, only the adults. It was also implied that Scar's troop caused their own famine, ignoring the fact that they have little control over their food sources. Likewise they failed to explain more about the rain dances, which are done by many troops, and seemed to only use the dance as a sense of "evil." Freddy's group seemed to be constantly described in better terms, although less perfect hints could be seen when Oscar was searching for a new mother, or how Freddy had to reaffirm his bonds with his allies to keep them. I did like that they actually showed a hunt onscreen, and I did break out a smile every so often. It was nice to see the instances of tool use as well, though I am a little annoyed about the rain dance thing. Of course I am a Chimpanzee...enthusiast, so I would find issues at a film on my favorite sapient race no matter what. The film was rated G, so obviously they could not dive to deeply into all the features of Chimpanzee society, and just how grey it gets. The fact that some Chimpanzee wars end in the genocide of a troop probably won't sit well with children. However it did a better job than I had expected a disney film to do, as it touched many aspects of chimpanzee societies. Of course like humans Chimpanzee groups have different tools they utilize and different behaviors, but they did cover some of the more common features. Chimpanzees can definitely be loving towards each other, there are other cases of Chimpanzees adopting orphans I have read of. Overall I liked it, despite my dissecting thoughts.
  5. IC: De'kra nods at Cronk, and targeted Spider C from the front row. Since none of his weapons had different effects towards vermin, the echo decided to use Kapura. The customized blade had already impressed him despite his mistake in battle, as it's flames revealed that the mongrel was actually a wolf. There was some conflicted feelings over attacking wolves, but spiders? Spiders were fine to kill. They were probably the only creature De'kra hated, at least the only creature he remembered. At least these spiders didn't have four legs...
  6. Just curious, as this is a vague idea at the moment nothing more, what if the quest didn't feature your character at all, but it was caused by their actions. For a random example, a hero accidentally summoned a demon while he was intoxicated, and has been banished from the village in response. The villages need help to defeat the entity, and so they apply to Heroica. However since the hero caused the problem, they are barred from helping in the quest. That way all the action focuses on the actually players, and not the QM's character. All the QM Character could do is be haunted by their actions on another quest or at the Hall, like how De'kra felt guilty about Quest 17, which he caused in Quest 4.
  7. IC: De'kra clicked, "I not wish to exist as rude Cronk, but leader already target Cave Rat A. Maybe you move to attack Cave Rat B instead? Might team also need to attack Vampire Bat and other cave rats, to stop high level foes from get free hits? Team have thoughts on subject?"
  8. IC: De'kra winced at the odds, before commenting, "If leader no object, I attack Cave Mongrel from front row. I blade Kapura deal extra damage to beasts, and mongrel foe heavy hitter that group need to not let get free hit. Bat and rats also big priority." As he readied to attack the shade felt relieved that no wolves were attacking this time around.
  9. Sounds good, I can't wait to see how it rolls. (although quest 29 obviously comes first) Though I do wonder what the Ji Pei plan is that Byblos vaguely implied might exists. But hear me heroes! No longer is she the cleric we knew! She is Fire! And life Productive! Now and forever she is Phoenix! ...it felt appropriate. She does have a fire elemental sword, and she can move to an advanced class now.
  10. By Mata-Nui yes! I always thought the Shadeaux might actually be better of the two, for a number of reasons. One; the Hinckwells chose a crown for the symbol which implies that they are elite compared to others. The Shadeaux also don't hide the fact that they work in the shadows, not only does everyone know it but their symbol is a bat. (not that bats are shady types, but they are nocturnal) And let us not forget the heirs from quest 10... Hopefully De'kra is back in time for that quest, I have wanted him to work with the Ji Pei for some time. Not that I want Quest 29 to end soon, it just started and I am already looking forward to it.
  11. IC: De'kra nodded softly to himself and commented, "War will exist as harder and few dragons, though I sure Dastan advance since Great Dragon-Lion War. I believe other hero name Arthur also in Dastan, he had skill at war machines. I not know state of Dastan war machines, but it might exist as worth look to seek he." De'kra reviewed what facts he had found on Dastan, which sadly was lacking. But he had managed to find information on a large war between an unknown group of knights and the Dragon Knights, a war that led to the creation of the Dastan Empire. Apparently the Lion Knights was the other kingdom, which explained why the knights were here. No matter how far you travel, home is where the heartlight is. "Any knowledge remain about the chimera?" asked De'kra in his high pitch voice, "also, what known about cultists?"
  12. Interesting idea, though once we cross paths we will have assumably a lot of pages to catch up on. I think I am willing to try it, though I have already looked at the start of one of the others.
  13. IC: De'kra dipped his head in thanks, glad that the emperor had greeted them in person, and explained the lack of explaination. Already the quest felt different from Quest 4 and 20. "You know motive for Lion Knight attack?" asked De'kra as he bowed, "Last I heard Lion Knights were in war and elves on Uland. Elves lost and treaty was sign, but why knights attack here? Any clues?" OOC: my stats seem good.
  14. Nice line up for Quest 29, we get both Cronk and Rogue Prime(Galen). I wonder how interacting with Cronk and company will be like, De'kra has only ever interacted with Sarick and Xander, and not for long. Though De'kra does know and admire Cronk, though he isn't a follower of Ennoc. Should be interesting anyway.
  15. How would that work anyway? Because from all I know of that animal-fights game series, it would lead to situations like; As I play a Rogue I am not an expert on spells, but it could work in my theories. I picture the way the scroll of confusion works is by distorting the senses of a foe, causing them to see and hear things that aren't real? So people and landscapes appear twisted and strange to the affected, and when opponents attack their allies they believe they are fighting some terrible beast. Much the same is when a foe is alone, they perceive horrible specters around them. And should the visions hit them, the senses of the confused would convince them that they are indeed wounded. Like that season 3 episode of Teen Titans; Haunted. Of course I have never really payed attention to spells, so take bywords which a large quantity of salt.
  16. IC: De'kra commented from whereever he was in relation to Arthur, "Chaos as far as I know equals disorder, at least in this world. Back home foes could create disorder through amplify emotions, but that not here but there. I not exactly sure why the great taboo though, I mean yes Wren evil of highest order and need to see through Olisi, and this city so unbalanced you choke on it, but chaos not necessarilly bad. Like how order not necessarilly good. Absolute order leave no freedom, like dictatorship. Things tend to go bad when people go to extremes balance key. If Wren try to unleash total chaos, she insane or idiot. Not just because of logic flaw of course." De'kra sighed to himself, reflecting on the importance of balance. Freedom is born of chaos, of not being restricted. But at the same time without order one has no limits and is empty of styructure. And as an amnesic De'kra appreciates structure.
  17. I think I am guilty of this early on in Quest 20, though I wasn't trying to get another quest to occur, I just wanted updates. Still, it was rude so I apologize. On the matter of the earlier question of De'kra's fighting style, I always thought of him as always trying to move about in battle. Because he is smaller than most minifigures he would have less strength and weaker stamina (as Quest 4 proved) but would in turn be lighter on his feet. The way I picture him in battle is dodging his opponents' blows, and using the momentum from avoiding blows to deal some hits. Always in motion, because if he stops he is down. Like a fragile speedster. I like to think his vastly different luck in battle in Quest 20 is just because he got better at dodging during the course of Quest 4, which is why he started to improve in the later half of his first quest.
  18. Without spoiling anything, I came up with De'kra's form while playing with a Jawa Lego figure. I hope to update his image soon, though I need a working camera first. I forgot the exact influence behind De'kra, but I know of several sources of his character, Bionicle obviously being one. Fullmetal Alchemist also has some sway in his origins, but if you want to find out how, you have to read the manga for yourself. "Butterflies in the sky, I can go twice as high. Take a look, it's in a book..."
  19. IC: De'kra shrugged and clicked, "I guess that make some sense in some places, though back home weather never change much. Still heavy part not always make sense, because if you go to far off place to buy heavy thing, you would need transport to carry it home. You could use that transport to carry you heavy thing there, and after exchange use transport to carry trade heavy thing back to you home. Might not work if item you trade for light in weight, but it would still work in many situations."
  20. IC: De'kra click, "I no see how it superior, it only complicate exchange. And I not sure of other civilizations, but I home not poor. Or rather, everyone back home have same amount of...wealth. From what I see of Eubric, many people not able to afford basic needs of survival. Here only citizens suffer, while overlords rule disconnect. Back home people not have many metal tools, but they typically have enough food to survive, and when they not have food it because of war. And then everyone suffers, elders too. No disconnection."
  21. IC: De'kra clicks, "I personally confuse on matter, back home I people not have gold system. Instead people give actually useful object for another useful object,, or just to give aid for no cost. Everything belong to everyone, except for personal weapons and masks, and occasionally art. It...hard to grasp system where rounded chunks of bad metal use to get goods and services, and goods and services not for all. I mean, home briefly use system of metal gears in exchange for goods and such, but home pretty much abandon it immediately. And even then gears made of useful metal. Took I year to get hang of gold system, enough to hate it. Still, in this city of overlords and slaves, it not too surprising."
  22. I have a question for those of you who use Tv Tropes or are genre savvy on your own. How would you classify the heroes at the Hall in Five-Man-Band style? Who comes off as Heroes, Lancers, and all the other roles? You can organize the teams of heroes by quests or common interactions, I am just curious what people think.
  23. OOC: I see what you did there. IC: De'kra nods softly, and chirped, "Back home all loves defined by those three virtues, unity, duty, destiny. Virtue of destiny was to exist as best you you could exist as, duty was what define you, gave you purpose. Unity merges weakest villagers into powerful force, turns fallen nations into reborn kingdoms. And unity even simpler than that. Unity how villager elder led his people, he part of them and thus keep they interest at heart. That has shades of duty too, but unity plays part. Unity could kill gods, if done right. Uland lacks all those virtues, houses of Eubric abuse citizens, for example Shadeaux start war for profit in Quest 4. Prodigy peasant child was kill in Quest 10, but no one notice save ironically Shadeaux youth. Leader of education center she went to still cover up her death. This land sometimes hurt I like death, it feel almost as wrong as void..."
  24. IC: De'kra nodded with a mood as deep and dark as his body, before he clicked, "But most people no come back, and those that come back no remember if they see anything. Most no have to live and know pain before them, I mean really know." "I sure where Makuta now," added De'kra after a grim pause, "last I saw her was before barbarian try to attack I before he randomly pass out. Also, what you think about many quests to Dastan? You think there reason three teams of heroes go to foreign country at same time?" The shade echo resisted the urge to glance about the hall towards the portraits of the veterans, though it wasn't easy.
