IC: De'kra winced, as Nerwen's introduction had not helping. Hoping against reality that he might help, De'kra clicked with reverence, "You are right, this landmass of sand and rock is in peril. It is both threaten by traitors in empire that border this mountain, Gigantic beast, and by old foes that seek vengeance. This land might not survive these days. It is indeed why Team is here, to try to save this landmass."

IC: De'kra is unsure how to respond, though he is pretty sure his first instinct is inappropriate. Such glorious wings, with such elegant feathers. De'kra already knew that if things turned sour he would probably be of little help, he could not harm a bird, even though the Rito had human features too. They were too...majestic. Noticing that he was staring with awe, the echo dipped his head in respect, against all instinct.
-
IC: De'kra nodded, and clicked, "Odd that so little is known about Rito. Sure they keep to themselves, but I would think at least some legends about them would emerge. I agree that help Rito and their greatest trouble might help, but I worry what their greatest problem might be. Dragons can fly to great heights, easily up to mountains. And Rito probably are well train for reason. It might be possible that reason Rito are skill in battle is because of dragons. I believe remaining dragons are wild, so empire would not know if wild dragons and Rito are at odds. I worry that if that case, Team will have to decide between allies of wild dragons or Rito...Sorry if that idea offend Leader. I have no proof of this, it just speculation. And Hammer Hero probably can tell you of I habit of make theories any chance I can get, base on Quest 4. But it something to consider, difficult decisions and tricks seem common in Dastan, and Olegaia in general. Either way, if nothing more to tell heroes and I, heroes and I can leave now." The echo paused to listen if the voice had a comment, but it was silent. OOC: I won't put it past these quests.

IC: De'lra clicked, "you say they reject and humiliate emperors in past, you know way they enact this? Are there patterns to rejection in history? Is rejection more apathetic than hostile? Like they just not care about emperors, rather than hate them? Also, you seem to describe culture and strong military. Since you imply Rito not attack Dastan Empire but ignore it, I am guess that Rito military reactive rather than active. That make sense to you? You know what they might react to? Ancient prophesy, bad history and Dragon Knights/Lion Knights, or maybe just dangers on mountain?"
-
IC: De'kra clicked, "I will try. Before group arrives, can you tell I what you know about Rito? Team had heard a little of them in Dastan, though only that they dislike emperors yet not actively fight them. Civilian inform Team though, so it is easily possible that they are wrong. Can you tell Team why you hate to ak Rito for help? I heard someone at palace describe them as war-love, is that part of it? Can you tell group how one should act around Rito? Is submissive best, or assertiveness respect? What you suspect will have to be done to gain their trust? And will there web fall out from alliance, one that should be prepare for? I am sorry if I ask too many questions, but and Constance I think I ask too few."

No! its Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring all over again! Don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee! But is De'kra on team Orc-Hunter, team Ring-Killer, or comic relief? ...I will post about it tomorrow, I have to sleep.

I only remember one time, but I might have just forgotten. I do have a lot to juggle in my head about De'kra, so I will assume you are right. But since I never put that reason in the RPG itself, I can rewrite it. Tell me what you think of this: Perhaps Tarn using that weapon is making De'kra second guess what he knows about Tarn, and if he remembers Tarn correctly. De'kra has suffered from amnesia so he knows his memory might not be too good. Quest 20 was a stressful time, so De'kra might wonder if he had preceived Tarn as a good person as something to "hold on to" in the quest. Like latching on to the lesser of two evils. I am not saying Tarn was evil of course, but De'kra might wonder if that could have been what happened. Likewise De'kra knew Atramor prior to this quest as well, and that first impression was wrong. So that might factor in here, and as always Quest 4's ending could play a role. Would this explanation work better?
-
Well remember De'kra only has had contact with Tarn previously in Quest 20, a quest De'kra wasn't fond of. Honestly Quest 4 was better, as De'kra could trust those heroes. The fact that Tarn kind of sat back through much of the arguing and death threats towards De'kra doesn't paint a good picture of him in the echo's mind, and right now De'kra doesn't know how guilty Tarn feels. He is socially awkward after all. No, he is clearly the noble Lhikan in this. (sarcasm)
-
No, right now he sees you as the Nidhiki of the equation. Which is not as bad, because in the main universe of Bionicle Nidhiki sided with Lhikan. (and then tried to betray him in a war later, but that is not here nor there. Still, Nidhiki got what was coming to him) Point is, De'kra is thinking Tarn is corruptable, but not necessarilly evil mastermind material.
-
Ah Lion King, that is so funny for reasons no one but me gets right now. Basically De'kra nicknames people based on who they remind him of in his past. He was one for Xander, but I on on the fence if he should really be able to use it or not. Still, he could probably come up with it on his own. And yes, De'kra just recount the story of the Empire.

Heroica RPG - Quest #30: Ambassadors to Dastan

IC: De'kra shuddered violently, before he clicked, "Sorry. it not hurt as much if I say it..." The echo paused, as he debated something in his head. Finally De'kra muttered something about a terror dock, before he clicked, "You see, I remember a lot more of I homeland now, compare to Quest 4. What you ask about is sad tale, one that can repeat if not prepare for. Now I suppose you could say that close to I home was island city, guarded by eleven heroes. Each had great command over element, like fire, air, or water. They defend their island city for ages, but something happen." "There was "hero" call Tuyet," clicked De'kra as his body began to tighten, "One who grew tire of Heroes' code. You see in I home, heroes not allow to kill or torture enemies, unless conditions are absolutely dire. I mean fate of world dire. It is way of make sure their incrediable power not corrupt them, and way to help public trust them. But Tuyet grew tired of defend citizens, and decide it would be best to destroy every enemy, so that there no longer threat. She became fanatical, and began to leech power from her fellow heroes. One of heroes name Lhikan try to stop her, but self serving teammate name Nidhiki help Tuyet kill him. Tuyet took over island city, and slaughter all evil doers. Other heroes saw peace this made, and join her in her purge, moving on to other islands. I homeland was spare, but her empire was still close enough. But soon she move on to groups who had done no crime but might be threat one day, in attempt to maintain order. Peaceful inventors were kill because they might make weapons against her, villagers who speak against her or just behave differently were lock up, and soon beautiful city was dystopia, rule by Tuyet. And despite her claims that her rule was for greater good of all people, she would abandon that city in blink of eye if things went wrong. Any honor she had was lost. Eventually some true heroes rose up, but it took over 3000 years for rebels to muster their forces, and city was destroy in final battle. Last I ever hear of that city it had still not recover. I call them Tuyet and Nidhiki, because I see...similaritiesl." The echo glanced down at his blades as he concluded this, before letting out a final shudder. "You right," he clicked, "Heroes have to learn from mistakes." -

IC: As he walked De'kra spotted Xander, and cautiously approached the barbarian, "I sorry for that battle," he clicked awkwardly, "I should have stood and Team. Not and Tuyet and Nidhiki." OOC: feel free to ask about the nicknames -
Thank you. Sorry if I seemed to panic or nag back there. Yeah, I realize that some people miss the references, but I am on the fence as to whether that is bad or not though. I mean it makes it hard for players and characters to understand his references, but I think it helps set him up as an outsider. No one in Heroica knows about the Empirei or any other thing he might mention, so it kind of pushes him away from the norm. And since many players don't know the events either, it could add to their character's confusion. Like how we in Dastan are not reading the other quests. Does that make sense? Either way, if anyone ever has questions, I might be able to answer them. I won't give away key stuff like who De'kra was in the Bionicle story or who the voice is, but stuff like what Gali did in Karzahni would be fine.

Heroica RPG - Quest #30: Ambassadors to Dastan

OOC: it appears that we have slowed back down OOC: sorry for this long monologue, but the pace seemed slow enough to justify it. Hopefully it doesn't seem too out of the blue. IC: De'kra nodded at the words of Cronk, before following Sarick towards the palace. As he traveled, the echo heard the voice speak within his mind, The echo replied softly in his native chirping language; De'kra paused, before he responded again in his tongue, De'kra winced at the words, as his mind replayed that "battle." Finally he answered in his language of clicks and chirps, De'kra froze, and his entire body tensed. Finally he whispered in old Matoran, The voice replied with a vocal smile, De'kra waited for another comment, but there was none to be found. Carefully De'kra resumed following Sarick, though suspicion flowed from his mind. -
Well, I haven't had a chance to really watch William as he is in a different Dastan Quest, so I probably can't help with specifics. I do think demonic possession and dark sides are overused, but I am not sure if that is what you are referring too. Roleplaying need not be so dramatic anyway, you could just be a farmer from a small isolated village who never left his small town. The culture shock of dealing with all the strange heroes and weird situations Heroica has would give great Roleplaying, even though the character themselves is rather plain. I am not sure if I am making sense here, I am kind of babbling. Now again, I am probably "speaking the crazy," but if you are stuck on demons and chaos, why not twist that common theme? Chaos for instance is not inherently evil, it is just the lack of order. I for one associate free will with chaos, because what is more chaotic than people thinking for themselves, rather than obeying a single unifying thought? Sure chaos is bad if taken to the final extreme, but is order any better when taken to the farthest point? It might be interesting to see a demon or a follower of chaos who is more benevolent, wanting to free people from tyranny instead of just causing destruction. Does any of this make remote sense? Also, can I get some feedback now? I don't mean to be rude, but I worried about how De'kra cones off right now, and the la k of comments is only fueling that concern.

Heroica RPG - Quest #30: Ambassadors to Dastan

IC: De'kra untensed his body as Cronk spoke, before he dipped his head and clicked, "Of course, people of Dastan must come first. I should have learn that lesson back in Quest 4, I will not complain while there is work to be done and lives to save. But what you think heroes should enact now? Rolando hire Team and he traitor, are heroes and I sure Dastan will have Heroes and I? I will try to help either way, but what is Team's next move? You have plan?" The echo's eyes had defaulted to a fiery orange, as he looked at Cronk hopefully. -
Since this is roleplaying related and that goes here now, how has De'kra come of in this current event? Does he seem In Character for himself? Do his actiond seem natural for him? For instance, does the eye thing seem out of place? I think I had his eyes turn green previously so I don't think it is random, and it was hinted to indirectly as well, but I have had his whole backstory in my head since day one so I might be blurring actions taken and actions planned. Thoughts?
-
...no. But this does raise an interesting question, though I am not sure whether or not to put it here in in the theatre section. Well, I might as ask it here for quoting sake. Simply put, if your character was not their class, what class do you think they would default to? Like if De'kra had not been started as a Rogue, what class would you see him as?
-
De'kra doesn't count, he isn't roguishly enough. You can probably find paladins who would make better rogues than him.
-
And even worse, one of those Rogues is De'kra. But seriously, I don't think there is anything wrong with a party that isn't dysfunctional. You can still have interaction and character development without your party hating each other.

Heroica RPG - Quest #30: Ambassadors to Dastan

IC: De'kra nodded at Galen's words, and took the blade. "I not worthy to hold sword," he clicked, "But I will try to keep it safe until you decide. I know I words are worthless, but I still apologize for what has happen. It should not have happen. It...should not have happen.." Carefully he walked over to Sarick, and handed him the blade. "I know you can not use this sword," he clicked, "But you were one to rally better heroes to make right choice. Please watch this blade, until Galen ask for it. If he not ask for it then give it to another, or keep it for yourself. I am sorry to you leader, I should have put more faith in you. One time I am cautious, it was when I should have trust." -
No, just the Ji Pei. Their whole thing is technology, like how Shadeaux and Hinckwell are traders.
-
You do have quite the varied party, any thoughts on De'kra's alignment?

IC: De'kra's eyes flared, before they reverted to an icy apathetic blue. Finally he replied in a cold voice, "And that is point. I still feel guilty about I mistake, and I probably always will. You not seem to regret this at all. I know I not want to harm other heroes to great degree, and I know I talk a lot. I panic and I blame myself for mistakes others have made. I make rash decisions sometimes, and others pay price. I know I probably put too much faith in others, even after betrayals. I still put trust in people after all that happens in Eubric, Uland, and all of Olegaia. If demon came to I and said it want to help improve world, I might listen. Maybe that make I gullible. Or maybe it mean I not have to worry that I am alone." OOC: Achievment unlocked: Self Awareness Level two. Learn a new personal pronoun! -
Heroica RPG - Quest #30: Ambassadors to Dastan

IC: There was a freakish calm in De'kra's movements as his eyes alternated from an icy blue and a fiery green. But his voice began to build up in rage as he began to speak, "It was not necessary to fight like that. Group could have kill Constance if they had work together, or realize she innocent if they had thought harder about it. She zealot about Dastan, how could heroes think she was guilty of be traitor? It make no sense that she would aid outsiders like Wren. You know, I might have given sword to Cronk, and if he had refuse then Nyx. Karzahni I might have accept it if Nyx refuse! But not when battle end like that! That bomb was not necessary! But no, "heroes" decide to unleash whatever that weapon was rashly! That abomination was complete overkill, it knock out every hero and rip attackers to shreds! It was like unleash fireball to catch thief in crowd market. Oh it will catch thief, but it will cause massive unnecessary destruction to everyone and everything! It is slippery slope, try to win by any means necessary! And means were not even necessary here! Means were just "easier!" But that way it is in Olegais is not it? Who care if it not your problem, and who care who get hurt? Mercy and altruism myths at best here."
