I'm curious, are there any plans to incorporate the other regions of the world in quests? Since there is information and backstory on other lands, I have to assume that these nations will come into play one day. I can easily see missions to protect foreign "ambassadors" from assassins, or quests to escort traders to a merchant ship, with rewards of strange exotic weaponry.

De'kra returned to the hall, leaving the library behind. There was going to be about nine days until the heroes were chosen for the two quests he had signed up for, and that was at the earliest. Since he had plenty of time, he might as well spend some time listen to the heroes speak of their great quests, to give him some preparation. Not to mention that the more he hears them talk, the better he could get at understanding their language. And the better he got at "Freespeech" the more he could learn about this world, and possibly learn more about his past.

De'kra thanked the hominid, and looked through some of the books on the Dastan Empire. The dragons of the east struck a cord in the shades mind, something about gigantic reptiles seemed so familiar, especially their use as mounts. There also was a spark at the mention of militaristic mountaineers, especially them riding dragons. Could that be his homeland? It seemed a little doubtful, since he had washed up on the east southeastern region of the sea, while the empire was northeastern. Still, he didn't know the currents of this land, nor if the Dastan empire had grown since last recorded.

De'kra walked into the library, eying all the books and scrolls of yesteryear. So much knowledge lurked in this region, ever growing, ever expanding. Perhaps this place might know where he came from. Though from what the shade could see, the maps only contained the Lost Kingdom of Ennon, Moone, and the edge of the High Kingdoms. Only the edge of the continent was shown. De'kra walked up to the simian librarian and asked, "What east...of...Crystalline Sea?"

De'kra notices that two new quests have been added to the board, numbers 6 and 7 respectively. The shade glances at their descriptions, before turning away. Rogues would not be permitted in Quest 6, so that was not an option. The other seemed a little suspicious to De'kra, especially it's title. Not to mention having to give up your trusted tools for untested weaponry. It sounded like it might be bloodsport, besides; it required skilled fighters. De'kra was level one, he won't last. No, this rogue would stick to Quests 4 and 5, although he would probably and preferably to get Quest 4, since he was not a skilled combatant.
-
De'kra glanced over at the lists of quests from his unlit region of the room. Though his writing was lacking, as was his speech, he could read the text of this land fairly well. At the moment he hoped he would be chosen for Quest 4: Taming the Lions. Getting a stronger weapon would be nice, but more importantly the other mission requires stilled fighters. De'kra knew he was not skilled enough for that mission, though the cave would shield him from the light. But in the end, the cave sounds hadn't harmed anyone, they just were noisy. The foes in Quest 4 however might be stealing supplies, which would be a real problem.
-
De'kra turned away, and retreated back into the unlit regions of the hall. As darkness engulfed him the shade relaxed, glad to be further away from the accursed light. There was a memory of light, the first and for a while only memory he had, beside the languages in his mind. Every since the shade woke up on the shore, the light had pained him. But why, what was this memory of light? It didn't harm him physically, he was as strong in the light as in the shadows; so why the pain?

Forgot about Galidor, that's what trying for a decade to forget the horribly unlego designs will do to you. Their fusion power was really pathetic, all you could do is trade limbs and stuff. In Bionicle, Slizer, Roboriders, and Hero factory, you could create a completely different form, Galidor was pretty much just humanoids. Only the real skilled could do anything with them. It wasn't really Lego, more like glorified Duplo.
-
Right off the back I say the Hordika, while one arm was a nice fusion of gear and joints, the other was a stubby limb that just looked poorly done. And their heads, useless as masks and hard to use in set building. Not to mention the hollow chest and the projectile I could never get to work. I would mention the implausible story, but this is about the figures. Others than the Hordika, not much else comes to mind. Most sets do have design flaws, but they all seem to make up for it, at least to me. I haven't gotten much of the Hero Factory sets though, so I can't accurately judge them. The stars were the only other figures I had a major issue with, but I think that was because they were a cheap ending to my once and future favorite theme.

De'kra nodded and held out his fist. The shade glanced at his hand, his eyes wide. The move was instinctual, to bang fists with a fellow. Was it a part of his past: sealed away inside his head? Would Hybros know this behavior?
-
De'kra nodded, his fiery eyes looking closely at the other rogue. "I first not-miss I East Southeast shore," clicked the shade, "Follow map here. First hut of many huts I see Two-Headed-Chicken. Heroes here there. Heroes help villagers?" De'kra seemed a little more confident in his speech, though he had a distinct accent.

I am not sure if that is true. Sure, Mars Mission had exotic aliens like Life on Mars, and both were on the red planet, but aside from that I think they were quite different. Mars Mission was a war, battling over resources with only one way to play. But Life on Mars was a first contact story, with both worlds about equal in tech. While you could have the Martians and Earthlings go to war, the theme was laid out in such a way that the two races could come together. It wasn't a good guy-bad guy story, it was a story about two races interacting. The aliens weren't evil, but the earthlings weren't necessarily either. It seemed a little more...real...than Space Police III for example, where all aliens are bad and all earthlings are good.

De'kra turned to face the vertern rogue, his face unreadable. The shade sighed as it looked at Hybros, though there was no malice in it's voice. "I not know...tongue," clicked De'kra, "I not know...I. I mind not-full. Mind full one year, last year. Not one year old, mind missing. Not-missing I island shore. Help...hermit...not-miss chicken. Hermit send I here and chicken talon. I not know more." The shade tilted his head, wondering if the similarly dressed imp would know De'kra's past.

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
Tanma replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's inconceivable! That aside, this project is massive beyond belief. But at the same time every stud of it is covered in details, thanks to the unique ground techniques. The one thing that vexes me a little is that known of the recent pictures show what the whole thing looks like combined. But that is just my impatience to see the completed project, every chapter of this creation is perfect. -
Actually my character name is De'Kra, the k is on the other side. It is derived from the Bionicle Prefix De(Sonics), and the mostly fan prefix Kra(Shadows). If it isn't too much trouble could you fix my entry in Heroica Hall, as it also is spelled Dek'ra instead of De'Kra. Sorry if this is a problem.

I put Life on Mars, as they were the first Lego Space sets I ever received. It has fond memories for me, plus as far as I know it had the first aliens who were not Minifigures. Those Martians also had a very unique build, compared to the Space Ploice III criminals like Kranxx and Slizer. The Mars Missions aliens also had exotic bodies, but unlike the Martians they couldn't move their arms and heads. Not to mention the appeal of Mechs... I also voted for classic space, since it was the longest lasting Space Theme.

De'Kra walked through the marketplace, the sun burning his mood. Slowly he approached Gnomeo's stand, and eyed its many tools. With a gesture De'Kra exchanged five pieces of Gold for a Bedroll. Now with only five pieces of Gold left but now owning a place to rest, the Shade moved on, pained by the light of day.
-
De'Kra walked into the massive hall. The taxing light of the sun was lessened here, and he could relax. The light of day seemed almost to pain him, though he seemed neither stronger nor weaker in the dark. His face was obscured by shadow, a dark mist that only his fiery eyes could pierce. The shade walked away from the hall, and approached the list of quests. The enity signed up for both Quests 4 and 5, before retreating to a dark corner of the hall.

Over the years I have made a lot of Bionicle creations-some complex, some simplistic. Now some of these are years old, so the quality might not be as good. It is a good idea to be aware that I took this images with an Ipod touch, a piece of technology I do not fully understand. Regardless, here are some of my old creations. This was a race I designed for Bzpower's Expanded Multiverse project. They were intended to be hybrids of Av-Matoran and the Agori, hence their name of Avagori. Another race for said project, they were supposed by be rock lifeforms native to a massive industrial world. The green tubes on their back fill them with rick minerals from their homeworld, allowing them to survive. Their lifestyle is very slow, like mountains changes happen to them slowly. Again from the EM, this is a small bird like creature that can carry and use masks. Their origins are connected to an ancient civilization on the planet of jungles and tribes. A small creature for the project, it uses air pressure to leap into the air, and it attach itself it tall objects. A little armnored Agori I made with a skin color mohawk. This one is a bit...bigger than the othrs. Made mostly on Brutaka but wth pieces from many other sets, it is intended to be the final guardian of Atlantis; powered by three keys. Now I know that Atlantis stuff goes in the Action themes section, but since only three parts aren't Biolnicle pieces I felt this would be fine. I will probably post better pictures of this in time. Note that the blue and gold Glatorian's blades are sort of a fin/wing combo. Those fins are held out on arm joints, allowing them to expand into mlore wing-like forms.

I have a question, does your character need to be a Minifigure? I know it says any race, but would non-humanoid races be fine? For instance, I was wondering if I could use a bat for my character. I realize that it would cheapen quests if I could just fly over obstacles, but I figure that since my puny bat must carry around weapons and tools; it won't be able to fly more than a few feet off the ground. Would this work? I understand if this would not be allowed.

As noted above, Onua's third main mask looks a little...odd on his Mistika body. You do have a point about the colors though, Pohatu's orange is a little too...bold. Personally the biggest problem I had with the newer Nuva was Kopaka's weapons. To me Kopaka is only Kopaka if he has an awesome sword and a shield.

Wow, the detail is incredible. The marketplace, the arena, so much is going on. Not to mention the rocky shore, where the pattern of rocks and plants never seems to repeat. I am simply in awe at this creation.
