LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Rwbricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If this comes to pass, it would be… interesting to see the reaction to the fact that the next gunship would be blue, meaning that despite technically getting multiple gunships since 2013, none of them have been system-scaled with the regular color scheme. I can’t tell if LEGO is more likely to do something like this or not. As someone who didn’t have much interest in a full-sized starfighter but who doesn’t have Plo Koon, I am happy that it’s a microfighter. I know Tallie Lintra (the A-wing pilot from TLJ) remained exclusive to the microfighter, as did Theron Nett (X-wing pilot) and the updated version of the Skyhopper Pilot. Given that Plo will likely use a new mold, though, he may appear elsewhere. ACTUALLY, I’m pretty sure that the new mold for Plo Koon will be used for Ithia Paan for a set based on the Khofar battle from The Acolyte. My source is my desire to get non-Young Jedi Adventures High Republic-era Jedi robes. Totally reliable, 100%. /s -
In Spider-Verse, that Peter did have tons of Spidey merch and albums and such. I’m not sure how he managed the financing (these payments for Spider-Man are going to Peter Parker. Eh, they’re probably roommates), but he seemed to have capitalized on his apparent popularity. I mean, even Kingpin purchased Spider-Man masks. Excited for the potential Superman sets. Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Rwbricks replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
The tiles are very interesting, they definitely seem to suggest (to me, at least) the possibility of an add-on. Being able to make a small modular NYC street would be great. For what’s there in the set, the build and car are good, but not worth $50. Gwen, Spot, and Jefferson are also good, but I do not like the blue on Miles’s torso. It just makes it look like a different suit to me. Glad to see Miles gets an extra head and hair, though. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Rwbricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My initial reaction: “Ah, now, you do plan on having minifigures in your- in your minifigure series, right?” They’re not terrible, but they’re not great, either. I have minimal interest in F1, so maybe I’m just not the target market (unlike something like Spider-Verse, which I’m very excited for). I like the helmets, and the builds are interesting, but not interesting enough for me to get multiple. Also, it would have been nice if the heads underneath had different face prints, just something else to increase the appeal. -

Those raptors are so wacky that I think I want them. Truly a strange timeline we’re in. We’ll have to see if this set comes with more dinosaurs than the Jurassic sets (if those are still coming). The Iron Man mech is good for what it is, but the minifigures are great. Hopefully this trend continues, and hopefully Anti-Venom is as good as these two. -
How to Train Your Dragon - 2025 Rumors & Updates

Given the facts that this currently appears to be a one-off set in Icons and that has is no minifigures, do we think it will be general HTTYD branded, as opposed to leaning towards live-action or animated? I could see that working, especially if there are no big differences between Toothless in the films. -

No Ezekiel Sims? Who else am I going to put in my MOC of the Amazon with Cassandra Webb’s mom researching spiders before she died? I do not believe there is one definitive look for Oscorp, but this would potentially give LEGO free rein to make it look how they want. -

Do-do-do, dooby-do, here comes the Spider-Man I’m so hyped for the Spider-Verse series. I was hoping for a general Marvel one, mainly to give us the missing characters from ‘97, but this is a worthy substitute. As others have said, there aren’t a whole lot of build options, so this is a great opportunity to get a bunch of the characters. That being said, I do hope that Peni and Vulture are left out of the CMF and get their own respective sets. I have no idea how he’d fit, but I’d love Kingpin in the CMF, too. -

Reed, Ben, and Johnny are included. LEGO knows that Sue is invisible, so it doesn’t matter either way. -

Poor Gwen. If only Sauron wanted to cure cancer. The other set is titled: Treehouse Showdown: Spidey-Rex VS. Goblin-Raptor. For $60, I’m not sure if they’ll put in a large dinosaur mold or just have it be brick-built, but I’m intrigued by the name. -

Was it confirmed or corroborated that we’re not getting Thunderbolts* sets? From what I remember, it was just the dubious Gambit leaker who said that. -

“They had us in the first half, not gonna lie.” Agreed about the Sentinel. I got the mansion, and aside from the characters, the Sentinel might be my favorite part. It’s so well designed, the only complaint I have is the locked knees can make posing weird. Still, it’s great, and it would be a no-brained to make it widely available. That being said, hopefully it’s on the cheaper side, or there’s multiple included. Even $30 feels like a bit much for just one. -

Same here. Whoops. But now I kind-of want one. The Tusken Raider Brickhead is the only one that I’ve purchased, and it’s great. -

I would love a remake of Rey’s speeder with modern pieces and techniques. In terms of making the main characters accessible, I could see Takodana, Kylo’s T.I.E. Whisperer, a Pasaana chase, or something from Starkiller, if Exegol’s off the table. -

Technically, he was missing for six years, but that's not really here nor there. For The Rise of Skywalker, I would not necessarily call it awful, but it is definitely disappointing. This was also the film I had the most expectations and theories for going in, but still. Hux was wasted, Finn and Poe didn't do much, and I hate that Rose got sidelined. I liked Rey's arc in the film. Though I would have preferred her not having a special bloodline, I understand how it fuels her struggles with belonging. I also get what they were going with with Kylo's arc, but I wish they had fleshed out that "everything he thought he wanted isn't actually what he wanted" instead of making him subservient to another big bad. For Palpatine, I am not sure that I love that he came back, but the way they did it made sense to me, and I love Exegol and the Sith cultists and all of that. There are many small things that I like, so I cannot say that I hate it, but it is a big letdown. Amazing. Every word of what you just said, I loved. I agree about Luke. I completely find TLJ to be in character for him. I can also see when people say that they wish he wasn't in that situation to begin with, too, but then I rewatch the movie and love it. I was not a fan of Duel of the Fates, either. I liked the B-plot with Finn and Rose, but everything with Rey, Kylo, and Luke were just not it. Especially that Ben/Force Ghost Luke scene. Force Ghost Luke grabs a lightsaber blade, and tells his nephew that he's not a Skywalker, even though "no-one's ever really gone?" And Kylo's "redemption" in that is so much more rushed and just worse than in TRoS. All he basically did was go, "oops, my bad" and then die. Some of people's opinions about the Sequels I can kind-of understand when I read this. In regards to Luke in The Last Jedi, I maintain that he did not try to kill Ben. He was struck with an overwhelming vision of death and turned on his lightsaber, but instantly regretted it. The only thing of him turning it on and then trying to kill Ben is from Kylo's story, which was a lie to begin with, and Kylo also conveniently left out the part where he went and slaughtered the other students after. However, I will say that the fact that it can be perceived as Luke contemplating killing Kylo is a flaw, one that should have been made more explicit in the film. On the topic of Kylo's story, I love (not sure if that's the right word) how manipulative he is to try to get Rey to join him. In TLJ, it's "You have no place in this story You come from nothing. You're nothing, but not to me." Then, in TRoS, when it's revealed that Rey does have a powerful bloodline, Kylo just goes: "Hey, you come from a dark background, just like me. You should join me." I totally agree. The Force Awakens is just so endearing, it's got great energy. This is my general ranking: A++: ANH A+: TFA & TLJ (tied) A: RotJ & RotS & R1 (tied) A-: ESB & Solo (tied) B+: TPM B: TRoS B-: AotC I must note that all of these tiers are extremely close, hence the weird-letter grading. I enjoy them all. The shows are trickier to rank, as I have seen each only once in entirety. It probably goes: Rebels, Clone Wars, Bad Batch, Mandalorian, Andor, and then the rest. It's hard for me to accurately judge these since I haven't seen many of them in a while. For both rankings, too, part of what gives certain entries higher scores is how much it stays with me and how much I enjoy it outside of watching it, if that makes sense. Also, it's nice to have civil discussions about Star Wars. Thank you all for your thoughts and opinions and for being open to those of others. -

As much as I love the Sequels (at least the first two), the lack of distinction in the vehicles is somewhat disappointing. I would say that Rey’s Speeder and Kylo’s shuttle have interesting and recognizable silhouettes, and there are other more different style ships, like the First Order Transporter and Resistance transports, but those are less visually striking. (Speaking of the Resistance transport pod, does anyone remember ForceGhostSolo?) I’m happy to hear about Kylo’s helmet. I wonder if it will be TFA or TRoS based. If it’s the latter, the red lines will probably just be stickers. Still, getting more sets based on the Sequels is nice. Hopefully this will lead to more. -

Apparently Ruth’s head is not new; it was used for Pansy Parkinson from the Harry Potter Slytherin House Banner set. That’s the only set it’s been used in so far, so it’s still nice to get, but it is not new. -

I cannot speak to other countries, but in the U.S., it’s widely available starting on the fourth, but available to LEGO Insiders starting on the first. I don’t see why it would be different elsewhere. The minifigure-scale Captain America set is definitely a mixed bag. The build itself looks like a $20 build, not a $55 dollar build. Even the grey stand for Ahsoka seems more substantial. The minifigures and big-fig are, of course, the main draw, and they are better than I expected. Red Hulk looks good, as does Torres. I’m pleasantly surprised that Sam gets dual-molded legs, and I like the helmet printing. Hopefully he has a double-sided head. The minifigure for Ruth is better than I had anticipated, not only getting a new torso and (albeit reused) printed legs, but she also gets a new head! This set technically gets nine new prints, not counting the dual-molded legs, which is really cool. The price is less cool. The buildable Captain America figure looks decent. The buildable figures are not really my thing, but I am disappointed to see that the wings are fabric and not brick-built. -
The rancor comparison I can see, but also that’s because they’re both big brown humanoid creatures hunched over. Something as simple as changing the eyes to yellow studs could perhaps provide more of a distinction. I agree that it looks good. The shaping and proportions are nice, even though it’s changed it the two images. Honestly, I like them both, and if you used different pieces, you could just change him as he changes his shape, i.e. sometimes he has regular hands and other times, when fighting, he’s bigger and has a hammer hand. Also, thank you. I always like it when I’m inspired to build, and seeing your Clayface makes me want to make one of my own. I’m currently just using the old Rock Raiders rock monster as Clayface right now.

Given LEGO’s love for mechs, I’m surprised they haven’t done Peni and SP//DR yet. The Prowler is my biggest want, though. A film-accurate Kingpin would be amazing, too. -

I am both very excited that we’re finally getting TRoS Palpatine after five years… but also disappointed that this seems to suggest that there’s no plans for Exegol anytime soon. -

The amount of money I would lose if these were real… These are great. It looks like you’ve put a lot of work into these, and it paid off. There’s so much to love here: all of the different characters, the themed waves, the fact that you included an advent calendar and GWPs, all of the different animals Beast Boy appears as, etc. The builds are detailed and well done, though my favorites have to be the ComiCity ones. The idea of smaller modular-type buildings that connect is wonderful, and it would work great for all of the comicbook locations, as you’ve demonstrated. Luigi’s Pizzeria must be next in the line. (I hope it’s okay I’ve commented on them. I’m never quite sure when it’s threads of people’s MOCs).
