LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Rwbricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Theoretically, if they were fake leaks, how effective would that be if many accounts repost the leaks? They would only really originate from one account, so the others could claim they’re just reposting the information, and only one would be on the hook. Still, FalconFan hasn’t even posted images of the new sets that were officially revealed, which doesn’t seem promising. On the topic of the March wave, I did end up getting R2-D2, having wanted the older ones but never gotten them. I really like the new one. It’s a good size, sturdy, and a bit heavier than I thought it would be. The build was fun, and the final product looks nice, with a size-appropriate amount of details. The Artoo minifigure with back printing is nice to get, as well, and Malak is a plus. One of my favorite things about it, which I’m not sure is intentional, is that if you lift up Artoo (standing straight) by just his head and shake him around a little, he moves almost exactly like he does in The Complete Saga when you lift him with a magnet or crane. -

I think that the only “official” information that has come out is that it has multiple (more than two) eyes, but this could have just been speculation. I don’t remember who the source was, if any was given. If true, this very much limits what it could be, though. -
On a different note, James Gunn just revealed the new Superman logo (as well as a name change: SUPERMAN). https://www.instagram.com/jamesgunn/p/C38mWMeMSn7/ Given that this is meant to be the (theatrical) beginning of the DCU, and thus hopefully a pseudo-revival of DC in the public eye, I am hopeful that we’ll get a least a couple of sets for it.

Now I want a minifigure of Luke with his Landspeeder as his costume, like the train kid and boat captain from the CMFs. -

The leakers have said it’s a Death Star playset, though other details have been iffy, so I think it likely will be Imperial themed. I have seen speculation that it might be made in the style of Betrayal at Cloud City, so maybe that’s where those rumors came from? As someone who missed the MBS one, I would totally be down for another Cloud City sometime. -

I’ll have to check my sources. I had heard that one episode of season four would be “WHAT IF… Madame Web’s mother wasn’t in the Amazon researching spiders right before she died.” -
I totally wish we would have gotten this one instead, too. Despite the reception of the movie itself and the horrible crimes of the main actor (which feels wrong to ignore, but in this context, for the sake of argument), this set seems superior. Not only does this set have three minifigures instead of two (all new instead of one new and one repeat), but it would have been our first Flash since 2019 and first wide-release Supergirl since 2015, two superheroes other than Batman! It also comes with Man! In regards to the minifigures themselves, Batman looks good. Supergirl’s smile doesn’t feel quite right, but LEGO likes to give females lots of smiling faces. Flash’s printing looks really nice, and the Captain America cowl is an interesting choice, but it might have looked better in person.

I must have missed that, thanks. It does seem a bit worrying, though. Maybe the mansion is just on one baseplate, as opposed to the museum’s one-and-a-half? This would be the same footprint as the other Marvel modulars, unless the mansion is not as deep as the museum or just a facade. I guess we’ll have to see. -

Theoretically, the piece count could change, too. Jabba’s Sail Barge is currently rumored to have 3942 pieces, as opposed to the 6500 that was said in the survey. I know the piece count going down isn’t necessary what we’re hoping for with the mansion, but it shows that the original isn’t set in stone. -

If Surtur is the $15 set, the only other way I can think of it being true is if it’s like the Venom Mech with Miles Morales, but a Surtur mech with Thor. I really hope that’s not the case. -

Additionally, the Iron Legion set is 76288 and will be $25, not 76287 for $15. -

See, this is where we differ. If we get Mara Jade before we get someone like Boss Nass or Mara Jade, then I would be disappointed. -

Pictures of the midi-scale ships are out. Overall, I think they look really good. The Tantive looks a bit long to me, but other than that (and the prices), I don’t have any issues with them. The Falcon in particular looks fantastic. -

I totally agree. I find it especially weird since they introduced a brand new female head in a different color for the rebel crew member in the Yavin IV set, and yet they didn’t reuse it here. The chin strap is even the same! Technically, what they did is more screen accurate, but it would have been nice. -
Imagine one of them is a buildable Thing. That would definitely be… interesting. My first thought upon hearing that Buffalo is from Netflix was that it would be ATLA, as well. If it is ATLA, and the sets sell well, there would be enough material for them to keep the theme running for years if they want.

I agree with this. Unless we only get a grand total of three mechs, hopefully we’ll get more than just Batman, Joker, and Harley. For the rest of the sets, I am disappointed that the only regular, system set we’re getting is the Batmobile, and for such a large price hike, too. The buildable figures must be selling well, otherwise why would they keep making them? The Batcave will hopefully include a few cool elements, and the good thing about it being 4+ is that the pieces should be printed. I’m still cautiously optimistic about the quality of the minifigures. Hopefully those are done well.

Perhaps they weren’t all sets for Dial of Destiny, but rather four more Indy sets which were delayed so some could come out both last year and this year? That doesn’t sound likely. As much as I’d love another wave, it seems that Indy sets, much like what he studies, are history. -

That makes a lot of sense. If I recall correctly, the survey was basically asking the question “how much would you pay for this?” They must have listened to their feedback. -

Agreed. The vehicle is commonly referred to as “Jabba’s Sail Barge,” as it has been called in the past two LEGO sets. You can’t call it that with no Jabba. Plus, if the rumors about the Jabba’s throne room diorama last year were true, then why would LEGO be fully ready to include Jabba with his throne but not with his sail barge, especially if they had gotten so far into production as to bring the mold back? We don’t know if they did actually get that far, but if they were willing to, why wouldn’t they do it now? Maybe it’s just optimism, but I’m hoping that Jabba is included. We’ll just have to wait and see. -

I agree that the Grail Temple is probably the most likely next set, should another set be made. I’m not sure how iconic it is and how well it would sell, but I’d always thought that the circus train from the beginning of TLC lends itself perfectly to a set. On a related note, my friend and I were talking the other day about potential buildable objects for Indy, but we didn’t really feel any would fit. The fedora and whip are iconic, but kind-of plain, as are the Sankara Stones and Holy Grail. The head of the Staff of Ra might not be iconic enough, and the crystal Skull, Archimedes’ dial, and the Ark of the Covenant might be too controversial. The most iconic object is probably the fertility idol, but I’m not sure LEGO would want to make a build of a woman giving birth. It was fun to think about, but playsets would likely be the best bet. -

It’s just speculation, as far as I’m aware.
