Very good. I like the use of the Technic pieces for the Bridge(s). A little too much red, though, and the back wings need to be shorter by a stud each. As for the Acclamator, it might have looked better if you would have something more detailed for the bridge, such as a grill tile or binoculars. Also, this isn't much of a "fleet". Still nice work though.

Warner Brothers planning CGI/live action LEGO film
Oky replied to Whittleberry's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Seriously. What do the Star Wars franchise and Batman 3 have to do with this topic? This is not the place to discuss that. And would you please stop bashing on the 'Wars? You don't like it, we got that the first time you said it. No need to pull it into the mud at every occasion. There are many people on this forum who like it, so please respect that. Back on topic (sorta): On one of the sites linked to in this thread, there was talk about other, previously released, direct-to-DVD Lego movies. Did they mean the Bionicle movies? -
Does the red visor fit on well? Looks like an awesome add-on! Yay! It's me! (the one on the right) What's that? Is that how you open the sliding door?

Thanks for all the kind comments, guys! Thanks. That was the intent. I hope I didn't give you false hope that this is gonna be an actual theme. Not really. Not at the moment at least. I'm not much of a City MOCer and I am kinda busy these days. I do have the feeling that I should give this classic movie scene the high-quality treatment that it deserves though. So, maybe one day, I'll revamp it. As for Doc's head, yeah, it's hard to find a head that fits his wrinkly, excentric face, especially among the fleshies. The best solution would be a decal, but I'm kind of a purist. painting his hair was already a big exception for me. If you have any better purist solution, go ahead and tell me.

Warner Brothers planning CGI/live action LEGO film

... and Megabloks will rule the world! DUN DUN DUN! Seriously, though, I can't see much good coming from this either. I'm not saying nothing, just not much. The only thing that seems to be good about it right now is the fact that it's being produced by a large, successful studio such as WB. They have produced rather good franchise-based movies lately, including Batman and Harry Potter. So, there is still hope for this, but a Indian in the Cupboard style movie with CG minifigs still sounds kinda cheesy. And as Meschepers has pointed out, there is little chance that they will be able to come up with a story that captures Lego's promotion creativity and imagination in an un-corny way. If this is gonna become a big event, it's likely there are gonna be sets from it. It would be funny if the live-action actors from the movie will be minifigs in the sets, and the minifigs from the movie be the new microfigs from the board games. -
There is supposed to be a pen with a chrome Threepio too, but that doesn't mean that they will start giving out chrome Threepios again. Edit: Damn. JCC1004 beat me to it. There's also one with a Tusken, but that doesn't mean we'll get new sets with Tuskens either, even though it's kind of possible, considering the rumors of a Landspeeder set.
-
Yeah, and the upcoming live action movie probably wont help the sales of the sets either, considering how awful the last one was. As for the quality of the sets, I'll try to stay open-minded until I actually see them.
-
If the rumors are true, there wont be any minifigs.
-
Yes. Just like the "a lot", it's a correction. You bet I am! I have no life whatsoever. Accepted. No guaranty that I'll be able to record it, but I'll try. I just have to remember to turn on my computer that evening. Do you guys think this will be made by Treehouse Animation, like Revenge of the Brick, or by the same people who made the online comics? Either way, I'm sure it'll be done quite well, as both studios have done excellent animation up until now. Who made the comics anyway?
-
I think we should add LUG to the list.
-
Waaay too much time. Like me! I'll try to record it and put it up on my channel.

Hello there. Today I recieved an email from S@H with advertisements of some of the new sets. But it also had this ad: Looks like another Lego Star Wars cartoon in the style of Revenge of the Brick is coming our way. Sounds like it'll be the conclusion to the online comics. EDIT: Here it is: name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion
Oky replied to DarthSion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
What? Of course he did! Who do you think arrested Ziro? The info about the Season 1 boxset isn't anything new btw, not to me at least. It was posted on the official SW website shortly after SDCC. Well, I started a general SW discussion topic a while ago, but nobody ever cared to post in it. A subforum would be nice though. I'm still not sure if I should get the blu ray or DVD boxset. blu ray doesn't look like a format that will last long. Also, I don't have a blu ray player in my room, only in the living room downstairs. -
Why Ras of course! No, no, just kidding. But it sure aint me.

I just don't think that many techniques are very theme specific. If you think about hewkii9's examples, you will see that waterfalls and crenelations can be used in almost every theme, and Sci-Fi greebling can be used in the action themes and City as well (for factories and such). There are exceptions like spaceship engines in Sci-Fi or, as suggested, tepees in Western/History, but I don't think it's worth it to create separate topics for these exceptions. I think it would be easier to have the one index of all techniques that we have and that's it. If somebody has several ideas for making a certain type of MOC and want to share them, I'm sure they'll post them in their own thread, and then it will get indexed in the main techniques thread. This is just my opinion of course, and I might be wrong.
-
Yeah. They shoulda gone the extra step and put a screen with a game like Rogue Squadron into it, considering that they seem to be so rich. I also love how everything else in that room looks so futuristic.
-
Lo and behold, such a magical place exists! Simply click here to get to it. Ever bothered to check the General Discussion index? C'mon, Ricecracker, you should know this! One of the topics indexed there was started by you! And since we already have that thread, I don't think a theme specific versions of it are necessary.
-
Not according to this list.
-
They sure do. I would have LOVED to have such beds as a kid! Great find.
-
I think Batbrick is right. Since everyone seems to think this way, TLG would be smart to put the army men into a large set. Obviously. And while you're at it, start learning how to spell "probably" right as well. You seem to have problems with that. I think PoP might be part of the summer wave, considering it's based on a movie coming out in summer.

When Gunray escaped from Geonosis.
-
That's correct. It was featured in all the PT movies, in fact, as well as six CW episodes. In Ep.III, it was the ship that Grievous used to land on Utapau right before telling Sidious about Dooku's defeat. And did you know that Lego's version, Gunray's personal Sheathipede-class shuttle, is called the Lapiz Cutter?
-
Just in case you didn't notice, the Sep Shuttle is in the movies too. It's in Ep.III, but in a different color.
-
Although the Shuttle is a better deal IMO, I guess that's a good reason to get it second. The Solar Sailer came first and is an exclusive, so it may be discontinued even sooner than the other January sets. Then again, I remember a lot of people not liking the Sailer and therefore not getting it, so it may not sell out that fast. In fact, there is a good chance it'll go on sale before it's discontinued. I guess it's up to you.
-
Does what? Use acronyms? Yeah, if you're around the Star Wars forums a lot, you have to deal with many relatively long names, so you get used to using acronyms. It's just easier, and usually everyone knows what it means. Besides, it's not like I/we use leet speak. Thanks for backing me up, daxflame. You never know. The stands could be used in landscaping, and if Bullseye's saddle is removable, we can look forward to a new saddle to use on our regular horses. Well, these are toys based on a cartoon which is all about toys. What did you expect? Yes, yes you should. Just because you don't like them (or the movies) doesn't mean they're dorky. You are forgiven though. For those who think that 7591, 7592, and 7595 are just minifigs in a box, I am sad that you don't have more faith in TLG. I'm sure they will be more than just impulse sets.
