  1. Me too! If I should ever get one, I shall mod it like that. Until then, I totally encourage anyone else to so the same. Nothing to get excited about, but I just thought I'd share this: My own pathetic attempts at enlarging the blurry BP pics. Not much better than what we have seen before, but it's starting to look more and more like a Hoth Rebel BP with a pilot and an Imperial BP with Snowtroopers to me. The trooper on the speederbike kinda looks like he could be a scout trooper, but that's just speculation and wouldn't make much sense.
  2. They had reverse color schemes. See:
  3. But why would it be called Luke's Landspeeder if it really is a snowspeeder? There is no difference between the snowspeeder that Luke flew and the other ones. However, if it really is a Landspeeder, it would make sense to say that it's Luke's, because the landspeeders seen in the movies are different.
  4. Damn. I missed it. Can anyone fill me in on what could be seen in the clip?
  5. Ahem yourself. I quote: Flying Wing (as a type of plane) may be real, but the particular model seen in the movie was fictional. I know Wiki isn't the best place to link to when trying to make a point, but I couldn't think of anything else at the moment. You can check any other source, though, and you will see that the Flying Wing in Raiders was fictional and supposed to be an experimental prototype. I don't see what that's supposed to prove. It still looks like a normal jeep with a gun put on top of it to me. And you can make period-set movies without using actual vehicles from that period by making up vehicles that are based on vehicles from that time. I should know, I go to an art school. I agree with that, but I don't think that the "entire theme" is all about military vehicles. It's about treasures and ancient temples and stuff too. I agree, this discussion is getting tiresome, not to mention way off topic. I can't seem to be able to prove anything; the only ones that could would be members of the TLG and maybe the ambassadors. Nobody here is either right or wrong, so how about we get back on topic?
  6. And had stands glued to our feet? Well, firstly, it's tan, which is the second most common military color, and secondly, it couldn't be used for anything else than war, while a fighter plane wouldn't look too out of place at a City airport, especially with the technic pins removed.
  7. First of all, the discussion is about military sets (meaning vehicles), not minifigs. Secondly, these are modeled after cartoon characters based on toy soldiers (not real soldiers). Just because you can mod them to be real soldiers, doesn't prove that TLC is making military Lego.
  8. This discussion has gone way off topic, and way too heated, but let me just say how I view the whole military vehicle issue: Race for the Stolen Treasure: One vehicle is just a cargo truck, not very military at all. The other is a normal jeep, with something brick-built attached to the top that looks like a gun. River Chase: Again, a normal amphibian vehicle, just with a gun attached to it. Jungle Cutter: Like Omi, I can't see how this could be seen as a military vehicle. Flying Wing: This is a military vehicle, yes, but it's a fictional plane, so it's about as much a modern military vehicle as a Star Wars ship. Fighter Plane Attack: Okay, this is getting pretty close to being military vehicles as they are modelled after real aircraft, but still, they are just normal airplanes with technic pins and telescopes attached to them to look like guns. What I'm trying to say is that TLC has so far only made vehicles that are pretty generic (aside from some small brick-built add-ons that look like weapons) so that they could be used in a peaceful City setting as well. They have not made any vehicles that have a pure military purpose, thus not violating their policies. If they would make a tank, it would be a pure military set, modeled after a real-life warfare vehicle, and this is why I don't think that they will ever make one. (Note that I say "will", not "going to", meaning that it's not set in stone. Anything is possible of course.)
  9. I don't think it said TIE Bomber. I'm pretty sure that it said Hyena Bomber from the start, but OT fans were confused and thought/wished it was a TIE Bomber. This year, it specifically states "Luke's Landspeeder" which is hardly confusable with a snowspeeder IMO. I'm not saying that it's set in stone that it's the landspeeder, considering it's just a rumor for now, but that's what we have to assume at the moment. He meant that they are 6 studs wide, whereas the last Landspeeder was 8 studs wide. So did the windshield piece TLC has used on the last Landspeeder. Except this new curved piece would actually look good on it. So, yes, if the Landspeeder will be minifig scale, I'm sure it'll have that piece. I modified the first Landspeeder (which is 6 studs wide) to have that new piece and it fits perfectly. They don't want it to be USC, they want it to be UCS. Get your acronyms straight.
  10. Oh, my mistake. It looked different on a yellow head. I guess you just popped my dream bubble of a Fairy theme. Sarcastic much? I wish people would stop making such comments. Yes, some people like me have fun speculating, but is that really so bad?
  11. No offense, but are you really that low on parts and creativity that you need TLC to hand mods to you?? I'm just saying, those are some very easily fixable things. You mean Wampas? That makes a lot more sense. Still, I think a small Wampa cave set with a Hoth Luke would be more likely.
  12. Hm... It seems like a little too much trouble for TLC to produce the princess hairpiece in tan and create a new cape-style cloth piece (the wings) just for a keychain. I'm almost convinced that this will be the new girl theme for 2010. Nice find. When this theme comes out, I'll probably buy one or two of the smaller sets for the female minifigs.
  13. I'm sorry, but I must disagree. It can't deserve it that much if it's not even worth spelling it right that it does. I agree, though. It would be nice to have another wave. $10? Being optimistic, eh? The last time I checked, an Indy set with two cars costs $30, so this would cost at least $15. Besides, this would basically be the same as Shanghai Chase, just with Mutt and his bike instead of Willie, Short Round, and his car. A bar? Not very exciting, even if it comes with a few flame pieces. And why a 2 sided wall? I don't recall them ever going behind the bar. There was nothing "action packed" about the airplane. In fact, most of his stay in the plane, Indy was sleeping. Besides, the only difference between this and Peril in Peru is the third propeller and the raft instead of the jeep. A small set with only the raft would make more sense than this IMO. I think we already covered this. Even though it's obvious this would sell well, TLC will never make military sets. The closest they have ever come to making a historic military vehicle was the jeep in Race for the Stolen Treasure with the make-believe gun on top. Conclusion: I don't think these sets are very probable at all. Sorry, again, it's not like I want Indy to end, in the contrary, but I'm being realistic about it. Let's just hope that Etzel is right and that the Adventures theme will return (although I'm not sure what else they can do with it, considering they have already done an Egypt, Mayan, Oriental, and even Dinosaur subtheme ).
  14. Just saw G.I. Joe. It was a mindless, fun, action and CGI-laden popcorn flick. I expected nothing more from a movie that is based on a line of action figures. One thing I will remember about this movie is that it was such a cliche comic book movie that I had the impression I was watching Lego Alpha Team: The Movie! It had everything: . If you think you can enjoy such a movie, by all means, go see it. It was really enjoyable for me. FYI, since I only moved to the US 4 years ago, I had no clue until now what G.I. Joe was. This might have been partly the reason why I was able to enjoy the movie so much. Oh yeah, and Rachel Nichols and Sienna Miller were really hot in this movie! They made Megan Fox look like an average teenage girl.
  15. I was serious about the first two sentences. You're welcome.
  16. Isn't that what the Indy 4 sets and some of the latest SW sets are? I agree, though. Preferably, this should be a steampunk theme with a few silver pieces included as well.
  17. 7626 Jungle Cutter has lots of great parts for building a (dark green) tank. 7625 River Chase also includes some dark green parts for creating a military vehicle. 7622 Race For the Stolen Treasure includes a grey military jeep. Some Space Police sets, like 5973 Hyperspeed Pursuit and 8400 Space Speeder, have interesting parts, particularly for making weapons. That's all I can think of right now. Does that help?
  18. Really? Well, even so, it wouldn't make much of a difference. I would much rather have sets based on "Trespass" to get Talz AND Cold Assault Troopers. Seconded, even if it's just a playset-style collection of rooms. If it would include a Jedi council room with some of the Jedi masters, it would sell sooo well! Speaking of Jedi Masters... This might be a no-brainer, but I want a set based off of the upcoming CW episode with Ki-Adi-Mundi!
  19. Dang! 159 names? I might have been able to come up with a hundred if I could have remembered the names, but this much? Congrats, Mraz!
  20. Well, he's still a teen in the series, so the movie can't connect directly to T5. Remember how John ended up in the future? Maybe when he gets sent back, he ends up before T3, completing the cycle. Or something. I dunno, I don't know the story of the movie, so I can't tell you. Besides, time travel is complicated. Trying to make sense of it is almost impossible.
  21. Chauchilla for sure! Any Indy set is better than any City set! Honestly, the only interesting thing about the camper is the hot chick, but she's not worth getting the whole set. Besides, you have quite a few "chicks" already, if I recall correctly!
  22. Yes, but that's what the stormie BPs are for.
  23. Sorry to burst your bubble, but: 1. Exactly. Indy & PoP are just too similar to co-exist. Don't you think they would have waited with releasing the Cairo set until the PoP molds are ready if they were to continue the line? 3. Talks of a 5th movie are just speculations at the moment. If there is gonna be one, it'll come out in 3 years at best, and the lego line will have long run out of ideas for sets by then to keep the theme alive. 4. Remember Batman? And Harry Potter? All these licensed themes seem to end with a videogame. 5. Perhaps, but not many iconic vehicles (on which the theme is based). I don't think TLC would ever make a tank, and the other stuff is just not interesting enough for them, I think. I could imagine them releasing one more wave at best, but that would be it. Sorry, just being realistic here.
  24. That's great news!... I think. It depends whether they really did learn their lesson and make it a Terminator movie that fits into the franchise or not. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to it. It sucks, though, that it's released so late. But if it's really gonna tie in with T5, I guess it's better this way.
  25. Sweet, thanks! Now they just have to sell 'em for real. It would sooo enhance the Dyna Mite fig and other Lego Ladies!
