It doesn't bother me all that much. To me, it doesn't matter if it is studs or these smooth surfaces that show in front of the piece, but since this helps with grip and looks smooth, I actually prefer these. I'm not 100% sure on that either, but they were trans-black on the old ARC. Interesting observation. Perhaps he is supposed to have gloves on, like Plo Koon?

How does this one pic confirm anything? As far as we know, they could have just used a different head in the prelim pic where the one pilot didn't have a visor. However, it would be great if it were that way! Actually, I bet those are stickers. And no, the piece on the nose is the same 1x3 curved piece we have had for years. That would be awesome! I have been waiting for that ever since the R2 fig came out! Yes, if you zoom in, you can see that it is that piece. Is anyone else bummed about the fact that the triangular windows next to the second cockpit are not transparent and just black stickers?

I haven't bought a City set since the 7239 Firetruck, but these impulse sets look pretty darn good! All of them are great parts packs and have cool new minifigs. I'm definitely getting at least one of each.

Well, what do you expect? He is a big blob of lard with some tiny arms attached to it. He is pretty useless in the movies too, so I think TLG did a decent job on him. The only thing I don't like about him is the monotone-ness. I would actually like to have one of him, but I think I'll wait for TLG to release a printed one.

(EDIT: cralegoboy beat to it.) Do speederbikes count? How about Podracers? For the third category, are we allowed to modify the official set or should we just add stuff on to it? If can modify it, to which extend? Do the entries have to be minifig-scale? May the holiday spirit be with you, everyone!

Ah, but there's the rub. We're not talking about impulse sets or advent calendars, but about polybagged minifigs with maybe one or two hand held accessories.

I definitely second the emotions for a Sherlock, artist, legionnaire, and scientist with test tube! The scientist should have the Harry Potter hair in white and look like Professor Voltage from the old Legoland videogame IMO. Also, any redesign of figs from dead themes would be nice to see. Have you even looked at the first wave? Those will already be released. Yes, but if you look at the first wave, you will see that these figs don't come with more than two pieces (all of which are things they can hold in their hands), so accessories like a grill or easel or tool trolley are kinda unrealistic.

Funny. Here we have a set with a big bad monster truck, a cool grappling arm feature, and new minifigs - and the wow-factor of the set is a pan with sausage. I too hope that the next BPs will have Geonosians and CATs. Also, I would very much like to see a re-release of the V-Wing set, but this time with an accurate V-Wing, a complete R4 unit, and one of the new clone pilots. This would not only give us a better V-Wing, but also a cheap way to fill Kit Fisto's seat on the new ARC-170, and maybe even to switch out the pilots on the old ARC-170. And I would give anything for new podracer sets!
