Thanks. Me neither. But since I'm at the bottom of the list now, it will probably take a while 'til we see the result.

You want me to use the entire thing? I was just going to use the propellers as means of acceleration at the back of the fortress. Besides, those wings don't look very steampunky to me. Come to think of it, does the fortress even need acceleration? It could just float in the air I suppose, but I think it would be cool if it would be able to move around. In fact, I thought it could be a neat playability feature if it had hidden wheels and a mechanism that would allow the rear propellers to turn when you roll it around.

So let me get this straight - the whole point of this topic is to rant about some minor design flaws, most of which are easily fixable through modding? Kinda unnecessary IMO, but if we're already at it... I absolutely agree! I was very disappointed not to see any leg print on Boba in the new Slave I set. I know it's still prelim, and his new helmet mold almost makes up for that, but still. A lot of SW minifigs would benefit from having leg prints. If they can make leg prints for Buzz Lightyear, why not for Boba and Friends? And I agree on the Hoth helmets too. After seeing them in the reviews, I'm not so sure if I want that set anymore.

You mean make a wheel out of treads like the wheels of the Hailfire droid? I suppose a wheel like that could work, but I would still prefer a one-piece solution. I'll see what works best for me. I want to use the propellers of the Atlantis Typhoon Turbo Sub on this MOC, but I can't decide whether to use them on the fortress or on the Rebel attack flyer that comes with it. If I don't use them on the fortress, I'll use the propellers of the Storm Lasher which are bigger and more gritty-looking. What do you think?
-
I got four of them through the Troll Battle Wagon, but by "bigger" I meant a larger radius, not the width of the wheel. In fact, I feel that one of those wheels is already a bit too think to be the wheel of a steam engine. I wish I had this wheel or this wheel in darker colors, but I only have the first one in white. I don't wanna make a brick-built one either because I want/need to keep the piece count down.
-
What kind of greebly bits should there be on the wall? The barbed wire from Agents? And what do you think I should use as the wheel of the big steam engine? Do you think the wheel from the Dwarves mine would work? I wish there was something bigger I could use, but I don't have anything else steampunky in the right color.

Ahoy me mateys! This is a short brickfilm I made as a final project in my Intermediate Motion Graphics class. I animated it with Adobe After Effects, and I used pictures I found on brickshelf. Credit for those pictures go to Svelte, Guss, and other great reviewers. The song is "The Sailor Song" by Toy Box. Enjoy!

This is pretty nice. Republic vehicles are always the easy way out since they already have a somewhat christmasy color scheme, but I think you made this work pretty well. the decorations are nice, and the addition of the sleigh is a nice original idea. Funny backstory too. Good luck.

Wow, you're a real joker, aren't you. Seriously though, you don't like this theme. We get it. No need to keep coming in here to bash on it. You're just gonna piss people off that way. On-topic: Has anyone seen Construct-A-Zurg anywhere?
-
You can get them in dark bley on PAB, although it's a bit pricey. I'm just concerned that if I use those, the walls will look too bare. Any suggestions? Good ideas. How about I use Exo Force robot feet as holders? They look pretty hi-tech and I've been looking for a use those. And don't worry, I have lots 'o tubes. I wish!
-
I don't get it either. What's the big deal about one tiny white dot in the eyes? I like the new kind because it adds a bit more three dimensionallity to the faces, and I think that's why Lego changed them - simply to make 'em look better.

I made a new avatar using my new sigfig and imediately Xmasified it afterwards: Before After You like? PS: I really think this should be in Community. Any mods reading this?
-
Hi, Hound Knight. You can add me back on the list now if it's not too much trouble as I have now updated my sigfig. Here it is: Just try not to make him look too fat. It would probably help if you draw inspiration from the real Buzz Lightyear. It would be awesome if the yellow name tag over the red button would say "Oky Wan" instead of "Lightyear"! I'm very curious to see what you come up with.
-
Good news everyone! My sigfig got promoted from jet trooper to Space Ranger! Therefore, I present to you, my new sigfig! To Infinity - and beyond!
-
Yeah, but did the back part have to be one piece? And by the way, it actually is minifig scale, whether it's intended or not. The cabin has the same size as all the City construction sets. In other news: Woohoo! My local TRU finally had them! I got all of them except for Woody's Round Up and Build-A-Zurg which weren't there. I didn't even see a space for Zurg, so maybe it's really an exclusive after all. Reviews will come soon. Also, 7590, 7592, and 7593 are now available on Target's website. Haven't seen them in store though. Speaking of 7593, why is it not in the index? Not trying to be pushy, just wondering.

I never said I hate the cannons, I just thought they would be a bit below the standard of the Steam Empire since I had the impression that they are a more advanced type of steampunk because Algernon said that they are very machinery-like whereas the Rebels are more traditional steampunk, plus there is this bit in the first post: But I actually like the idea of cannons. It's simpler than anything I have thought of, so I think I'll just use them. What do you think I should use for the walls of the fortress? I want it to be some kind of easy, <insert that tiresome argument> solution like the kind TLC uses so often. So how about this piece or this piece?
-
Here is another question: Does it really matter? The starfignter, Plo Koon, and probably even the droid look exactly the same in the movies and the TV show, so who cares what kind of stamp TLC puts on this set? Sorry if I'm sounding rude. I'm just starting to get annoyed by these PT/CW discussions. I don't think so, or at least I hope not. That wouldn't make any sense. Good question. I'm guessing it's some sort of little command module, like the one in the RGS. Do you guys think the AT-RT can be stowed away in the tank somehow?
-
Actually, in the movie, these buildings are made out of cardboard, so yeah, be glad that these are at least 3D. Oh, and thanks for the review. Can't wait (literally) to get this set!
-
Okay, that's just disturbing.

SOLD. Each and every one of these sets looks absolutely amazing! Plo Koon's JSF is beautiful, even though it's not dark blue unfortunately, but that just make it easier to mod it into the Azure Angel. Grievous' starfighter looks decent. The cockpit looks a bit strange, but I think I'll get used to it. What really blows me away, though, are the figs in this set. An accurate Grievous, Nahdar Vebb, and The Doctor! Now I wont have to get Ackbar to mod him into Nahdar! The only down-side is that Grievous doesn't have a cape, but I'll get over it, considering this set is based on an episode where he doesn't wear one. Really looking forward to this one. Palpy's shuttle looks very cool and accurate. I hope the Pilot is the new kind. That medical droid will be useful. Burned Vader not so much, but he'll still be a neat fig to have. As for the CTT - Could this set be any better? A cool and accurate Juggernaut and a cute, proportionally correct AT-RT, plus Aayla and Bane! Definite must-buy. Wampa Attack looks like a neat affordable set, but nothing special. I'll probably pass on this one. The Slave I looks better than I thought. A lot more accurate somehow. Han in Carbonite seems to be a new mold, and so do the mudflap-like green things on the Slave I. Boba looks good with that cape thingy, but I'm very disappointed not to see leg prints on him. If this doesn't change in the final version, I wont even consider this set. Overall, it looks like a great year! I can't even imagine how mind-blowing 2011 must be.

From the petition thread: It's always hard to decipher legomilk's posts, but I think what he is saying is that there is some truth in AllanSmith's list. So, what do you guys think? Are these really upcoming sets? They sound an awful lot like sets we have already seen, most of which several times, except for the burrow of course. But then again, they sound like some good sets to revive the line again. Looking at the standard the Emerald Night and the Medieval Market Village have set, I believe TLC can pull off some amazing redos of these old sets!
-
Wow! TS3 prelims already? Awesome! My thoughts: 7596: Wow! This set looks pretty cool! Although a bit <insert that tiresome argument>. But it has a Ham fig! Woohoo! 7597: It's beautiful! Not <insert that tiresome argument> at all and very western-like! And it has Rex! Looks like whoever said that this would become a set was right. It still seems strange to me that they would make a set out of something that is seen in a corner of the screen in a flash back. Looking at that screen cap, it seems that the set is way out of scale too. But maybe that's just TLG trying to make a playable set. We'll see. 7789: This set looks very <insert that tiresome argument> as has been mentioned, but it's still a neat little affordable set with interesting figs. Lotso's facial expression and his position on the trash compactor really do imply that he is the bad guy in this movie. And why not? It's delicious irony that a pink teddy bear is an antagonist. Can't wait for the movie and these sets to come out!
-
Yeah, not much you did/could do there, but it's nice I suppose. I don't really get the point of the lightsabers and why the top turret only has one barrel. As KimT said, could you please explain a little? Btw, it would have been funnier if you would have called it "TXmas-130".
-
Cannons? Do you really think the empire is that low-tech? Well, if you all think it's a good idea, I'll use 'em. As for the tubes, I don't have those, and I think they're way too big anyway, but I'll gladly use some other kinds of tubes. That escape flyer feature is a good idea, CB!
