What were they expecting when they hired two of the biggest comedy writers out there right now? I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand it was almost guaranteed that with Lord & Miller directing the movie was at least going to be entertaining and changing directors halfway through tends to not work out very well, but I can see how they might have gotten the character wrong and getting somebody who understands the character better is probably a good idea. It seems like they are currently considering Ron Howard and Joe Johnston. Not sure if either of them would be a good choice or not. Either way, I have very little interest in this movie and now that it doesn't even have the Lego Movie connection anymore I have even less interest.

Located at the heard of Coruscant, this large building houses art pieces from artists from all over the galaxy for the citizens of the Galactic Empire to enjoy (at the cost of a hefty entrance price). Some of them were submitted willingly, while others were taken by force or confiscated from the rebels. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by an imposing statue of Emperor Palpatine as well as some stormtroopers who are standing guard. Nevertheless, he did as the admiral requested and went to the museum at the time that Thrawn told him to be there. As he walked through the large entrance and past the information desk, he could see the blue skinned admiral standing in front of a large abstract sculpture in the center of the room. It was a gaudy structure comprised of several suspended colorful orbs and tubes. Garr approached the admiral and saluted him: "Grand Admiral, sir! You wanted to see me?" Thrawn responded without taking his red eyes off of the sculpture: "Ah, Leutenant Garr. Thank you for joining me. It was brought to my attention by Imperial High Command that you have been having trouble with the insurgents in the K'hali System." "Y-yes," said Garr nervously, looking down like a scolded child, "we have been trying to catch the rebels in that sector for weeks now, but they somehow always manage to get away." The K'hali sculpture by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr Thrawn paused for a moment, then he said: "I have called you here because I would like you to take a look at this sculpture. It was confiscated from a rebel transport leaving the K'hali system. Tell me, lieutenant, what do you make of this sculpture?" Garr was confused at the sudden change of topic, but then he replied: "Well, it just looks like a bunch of random orbs and tubes to me, sir. To be honest, it looks quite ugly." "It may seem that way at first glance, lieutenant," said Thrawn calmly, trying not to loose his temper at Garr's insolent remark about this piece of art, "but there is always more to art than meets the eye. Does the constellation of these orbs look familiar to you?" Garr shook his head: "No sir." "Well, it should, given that you have spent the past few weeks chasing around in it." "Uh... pardon, sir?" Garr asked confused. "The K'halii people are known for being explorers and expert cartographers," explained Thrawn. "When compared to Imperial star maps, the orbs in this sculpture match up perfectly with the planets in that in that system. This sculpture is an abstract representation of the K'hali system." "Wow, you're right," said Garr enlightened, "but what are the tubes all about?" "Excellent question," said Thrawn. "The tubes match all of the known Hyperspace routes in that sector. That is, all except this red one." Thrawn pointed at the red tube. Garr said: "Interesting! What does it mean?" "Is it not obvious?" Thrawn replied. "The K'hali rebels must have found a so far undiscovered Hyperspace route which they are using as a secret escape route. It is my theory that they intended to deliver this sculpture as a secret message to other rebel cells to inform them of this route." "Ingenious!" said Garr amazed. Thrawn finally turned to him and said: "Lieutenant, I want you to take an Interdictor cruiser and set a trap for these rebels along this route." "Yes, sir. Thank you," responded Garr and saluted the Grand Admiral. Then he left the museum as quickly as he could to carry out his orders. Thrawn had returned to his office on the star destroyer Chimaera, and watched from his holo-table as the rebel cruiser was pulled out of hyperspace in the middle of the K'hali system, unable to escape. The trap was sprung, and once again Thrawn's great skills of deduction and knowledge of art have lead the Empire to another win. The rebels' secret hyperspace route ultimately became the Empire's route to victory. Excellent! I've been working hard on my entry, but I could use some more time, so I appreciate the extension as well. One month to complete two large MOCs is simply not enough, at least for me. Looking forward to see what everyone comes up with. By the way, I didn't see anything about scale in the rules, so I assume any scale is allowed?

I don't normally like to complain, but can I just rant for a sec? I could be wrong and I probably shouldn't judge the movie before I see it, but so far everything points to this trilogy turning out to be an uninspired copy of the OT. Again, I don't like being so pessimistic and I want it to be good, but I just don't have much confidence that Disney (who are currently making a business recycling their own movies) will get more creative with these movies. It's yet another sign of Hollywood being unwilling to innovate these days and preying on people's nostalgia instead which I'm getting increasingly frustrated with. Say what you will about the prequels, but at least they tried to do something different and featured some original designs.

Thanks! Keeping Anakin's looking round was indeed a challenge. And no, that's the trans-pink bar that was also used in the latest mini podracers. Thank you JB, I appreciate your criticism. I did take the chibi style of the microfighters into account when I built Sebulba's engine's, but the way chibi designs usually work is that the body is big and round while any appendages such as wings are usually small. Take a look at the TIE Striker or the bumblebee below for example. However that rule might not apply in this case and I may have exaggerated the wrong feature. I like it the way it is, though, and it's too late to change it for the contest anyway.

Hi Everyone! This is my entry for the Micro/Midis Contest on FBTB. I chose to make Anakin and Sebulba's podracers because, well, I just love podracers. Actually, I'm only entering Sebulba's Podracer since you can only enter one Microfighter and it's the more detailed one of the two. It is made out of 109 parts (not counting the stand) which is the same amount of parts as the Microfighters U-Wing has. The side pods of the cockpit double as flick-fire missiles and can be aimed up and down. And because you can't have Sebulba without Anakin, I built a microfighter of Anakin's Podracer to go along with it. Which one do you think turned out better? Cast your vote in the poll above. It's actually kinda ironic how I used the heads from a Marvel couple for Roger and Anita and the body of a Marvel villain for Cruella! @LegoAndDisney Nice figs! I especially like the Queen of Hearts, although I would try Harley Quinn's torso for her and try to use a hairpiece with a tiara.

With Star Wars Celebration going on right now, I thought it would be a good time to make a fun little Star Wars MOC, so I imagined what Star Wars themed mighty micros would look like. I used some of the older, simpler torsos as they are a great fit for the cartoony style of the Mighty Micros. Superman's and Wonder Woman's heads were perfect for Han and Leia, and Aang's head fit surprisingly well for Luke. There wasn't much I could do for Boba and Vader, but I was able to use Hobgoblin's over-exaggerated face for the Emperor. Unfortunately the only white short legs come in the Gremlins set which I don't have, so I had to use gray for Leia, but I think it kind of works. Vader's car resembles his TIE Advanced while Luke is driving a wheeled version of his Landspeeder. How exciting! Not sure how good it will actually be though, considering most shows on CN are garbage now and that flash animation is not very encouraging, but hopefully it will be entertaining.

Yeah, I actually don't mind them remaking some of their older movies as they do feel a bit outdated and the animation is only as good as the budget at the time allowed it, especially movies like Dumbo that also had some offensive racial stereotypes, but anything from the Disney Renaissance does not need an update. The only remake of Mulan I'd be interested to see would be an R-rated martial arts movie version, but that's obviously not going to happen. And yeah, with the amount of CGI in these movies, it's hard to even call them live action. I can't imagine a "live action" Lion King to be anything more than just another animated Lion King, but with more realistic rendering, in which case what's the point? Who cares if the lions look a bit more realistic? It just takes away all the charm and expressiveness of the characters. Oh well, as long as they keep producing great animated films along with these remakes, I'll be alright. Speaking of which, we got our first trailer for Coco in front of this movie and it looks very good! It still feels thematically similar to The Book of Life, but seems to have a lot more of a Ratatouille vibe. That bridge looks friggin gorgeous!

I saw the film too and my feelings towards it have not changed from before either as I still have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it is a fairly well made film with a good cast, good effects, and great production design, but the fact that it is a remake of a virtually flawless film still makes it seem pointless and makes it hard not to compare the two, especially when most of the movie is remade shot-for-shot. I did like most of the changes they made as they do help fill in a few gaps in the story, but they don't really justify this remake. LeFou being gay actually made him a more complex and endearing character. In fact, him and Gaston might be my favorite part of the film. I actually disagree with you about Belle and Maurice. I really like Emma Watson and thought she did a fine job, while Maurice was pretty bland aside from one or two scenes compared to his quirky cartoon counterpart. Making him an artist/toy maker and having Belle be the inventor added nothing to her character and just made Maurice more boring. But yeah, the new songs were pretty forgettable and the dissonance between the CGI and live action was distracting at times, especially the digital effects on Beast's face and voice, which obviously affects the acting of anyone interacting with the CGI and breaks the immersion, just like in most movies that involve extensive CGI. In fact, the visuals were the worst part for me due to the Hollywood trend of sucking every ounce of color out of movies in an attempt to make them "more realistic and edgy", which is a big problem when the visuals are the biggest difference from the original. When compared to the cartoon, the movie looks very lifeless and and not enchanting at all. Some of the characters even looked kinda creepy. The fact that the projector in the theater that I saw it in seemed to be darker than it was supposed to be didn't help. Obviously a cartoon is going to have more color than a live action film, but seriously, just look at how drab some of these scenes look! So yeah, when I want to watch Beauty and the Beast again, I will stick with the original. I only went to see this remake with my parents because the original is my mother's favorite Disney movie, and while I did enjoy it, I think it was mostly because of nostalgia for the superior original. I hate how Disney is treating their classic hand-drawn animation as an obsolete art form and is remaking everything in live action as if there was something wrong with the originals being hand-drawn. In my opinion, the hand-crafted animation only made them better. But despite all the boycotts and all our whining, the movie killed it at the box office, so there is no foreseeable end to these remakes.

Agreed. While Prize D has the most figs so far, I think this raffle in general has gotten better and better every year. It's incredibly generous and I look forward to entering again this year if CopMike decides to keep the tradition going!

Holy Christmas in March, Batman! I just got my Manatee D and couldn't be happier! Like others, I had written off the idea of ever owning any of these figs due to their price, and even though I figured that some of them might show up here, I never expected to get ALL of them! I am so thankful that the words "thank you" spontaneously materialize in the air as the Dynamic Duo take on these nefarious ne'er-do-wells in my studio! To CopMike and anyone else involved in this raffle, thank you old chum!

I really like Harley. She's a highly detailed fig and could be used to make a regular nurse, but since you're already planning on getting the Batwing, you may not want to have two Harleys. My other suggestion would be Pink Power Batgirl. She goes well with Fairy Batman and comes with an exclusive pink batarang, plus that way you will have at least one version of Barbara. The Calculator is pretty cool too for his exclusive white armor and printed keypad tile alone. It's hard to pick a favorite, but I think it might have to be Vacation Batman.

Haha! Very creative MOCs! I especially like the one based on the Doof Warrior's vehicle. You should call that one The Doof Knight Returns!

Those themes were already represented in TLM. There is no timeline in the Lego cinematic universe. All themes coexist with one another as different sections of the Lego world. And seeing as TLM2 is going to be a space musical, we will likely see plenty more Space and Benny.

Thanks! No, the back of that torso is just pink which is too plain and Pink Power Batgirl's torso has the same problems in addition to the wrong shade of pink. I can live with the Batman symbol on her chest. Maybe Minnie is just a huge Batman fan. As @Takanuinuva said, the problem with those heads are the expressions. None of those are smug enough for Kuzco and Kordi's looked too adult/serious for Lilo for my liking. As for Jafar, he definitely needs his evil goatee, so I think the only dark skinned head that comes in question is this one or this, but hair is too bushy on that one. Nizam's is pretty much perfect for him, aside from the skin tone and lack of eyeliner. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Love it! Nice use of the Mighty Micro Robin head. I would have used black legs though. Good idea. I think Rowan Freemaker's head that I used for Lilo would work pretty well for Kuzco, so you could make him dark skinned, although he might end up looking too similar to Lilo. Unfortunately I don't have that headgear, so I won't be able to execute this design. Anyone else wanna take a crack at it? That mop and wizard hat are actually included in the Disney Castle as a Fantasia reference, so yeah, it's an obvious choice to use those for a Fantasia creation. Here is what I came up with. I couldn't use the legs you suggested since I only own the magnet version of the Royal Guard which is kragled.
