Yeah, very nice new banner! I like it better since it has more of a HP-feel, plus it fits the winter season nicely as Matn already said. Are there still more HP-themed activities to come?
-
Well... okay. I understand, so Imma give you that extra week, but after that, it's whacking time!

Yay! More sets! Hopefully Battle of Hogwarts will be as epic as it sounds! I'm not expecting anything too crazy though as it is a regular set, not an exclusive. And since these sets will come out around the same time as the second movie, I'm pretty sure the Forest set will be based on the scene where Harry confronts Voldemort toward the end. So, here's hoping for a cheap way to get Voldemort and some Death Eaters.

After a few Lego-less Xmases, I finally got some Lego this year! I got the Pharaoh's Quest sets Flying Mummy Attack and Cursed Cobra Statue from my parents, and the Atlantis 2011 sets Seabed strider and Angler Attack from my sister! Unfortunately I didn't get the the Hogwarts I was hoping for, but instead I got Playstation Move and a new Wacom tablet. Besides, there's always my birthday. Happy Holidays everyone!

You're still wrong though; those pics aren't better. In fact, they're just blurry close-ups of the pics we had before. Thanks anyway.

Of course not! Those are definitely not what we've been discussing for the last few pages!

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Oky replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
The sets look pretty good, even if still very preliminary. Nothing too exciting though. I was hoping for a better design on the bone cage - as it is, it looks more like a cube than a ball. And is it just me or does the mill tower look almost as <insert that tiresome argument> as the Megabloks version? Oh, and by the way: I don't mean to brag, but I told you so! Actually, according to the set description, the skeleton is Barbossa. By the way, it would be very helpful if a mod could put those set descriptions into the first post. -
I think it's safe to say that the third fig in the Geonosian Starfighter set is a Geonosian. And I'm pretty sure one of the figs in the Frigate is Quinlan Vos.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Oky replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
So, they're gonna show the whole trilogy in one night? Sweet. That should make up for the lack of CW lately. -
Okay, here are my first entries into this fine thread! Ever since my successful Toy Wars and Hog Wars License Mash-Ups, I have been constantly thinking about parallels between themes. This is one of the things I have come up with: Who's the Super-'soka? They all starred in terrible movies, but they haven't lost their spirit. Asoka, Ahsoka, and Sokka debate who the best "soka" is. Asoka: "I am Princess Tamina's most trusted warrior and was entrusted with the dagger of time!" Ahsoka: "I am a Jedi knight - or at least I'm going to be - and I got a cool lightsaber!" Sokka: "I'm friends with the Avatar and... uh... I got a boomerang! Oh, and did I mention I used to date the moon?" The next one is a scene of Toy Story characters celebrating the holidays. Woody: "Look, Jessie, I found the perfect ornament to put on the tree!" Buzz: "Very funny, Woody." Happy holidays, everyone!

I think I finally figured out what the little image in the lower left corner of the Blacksmith Shop is supposed to show: It looks like the roof of the shop tilts up to reveal a weapons rack.

Figures. I sit down an hour trying to enhance blurry photos and then some hotshot like you comes along with hi-res pics. Just kidding. Thanks a lot! Do my eyes deceive me? Is it possible? Could it be? TLG are finally releasing a Padme again!!! These sets look great! A dream come true for PT fans, especially those who missed out on the first Ep.I sets! Looks like we're finally getting a Zabrak head mold and not only for Savage Oppress, but also for Darth Maul and Eeth Koth / Agen Kolar (if that's who the other Jedi in the frigate is) as well! However, what I find even more exciting is that we get a printed Watto, an overhauled Sebulba, and an improved podrace-helmet Anakin with the podrace set. Looks like they used a rebel pilot head for Anakin, but I'm sure he'll have a new head with his goggles printed on it, possibly even a double sided one with a non-goggle version on the other side. Ki Adi is also a sight for sore eyes, but I hope the other figs in that set will change in the final version. It would be pretty weird if it came with Cody and a green Geonosian. As for the sets themselves, they look very good! Geo-fighter, Frigate, Infiltrator, and both podracers all seem like huge improvements over their predecessors! The Power Miners wheels work surprisingly well on Sebulba's pod, Anakins yellow break flaps are at the right angle, and Sith Infiltrator actually looks decent for once! I think we can even hope for interior since the front of it looks like that of the Venator. I just wonder how the podracers will hold together this time around. I couldn't care less about the OT sets. There are no new minifigs, the Millenium Falcon looks nearly exactly like the last version (which I already have) and the Ewok Attack just looks lame. The Speederbike doesn't even look accurate with that piece they used in front of the handlebars. Either way, looking at what you get, I hope the prices in the first post are wrong because they seem too high. But then again, this wouldn't be the first time the prices for SW sets don't seem suitable.

Wow! Thanks for those pics! Looks like there are Brain Slugs which are head gear that you can put onto minifigs!
-
Just like with all the new pics, I tried enhancing these as much as I could, but only with limited success due to the blurryness of these pics: 7964 and 7965 The Other Sets From what I can make out, the podracers do seem to be slight improvements over the first versions, especially Sebulba's, and the set seems to come with a new Watto and young Greedo. The Sith Infiltrator also looks better. It looks like the Danthomir Speeder comes with Assajj, Anakin, and what I believe to be Savage Oppress. The frigate also looks good, but the MF looks like just a slight update from the last minifig-scale version.

Here are some improved versions of the pics: 6918 Blacksmith Attack 7188 Kings Carriage Ambush 7189 Village Raid These sets look pretty good. Lots of useful figs and parts in affordable-looking sets.

I tried enhancing some of the pics as much as I could. Enjoy! 2254 Mountain Shrine Other sets Too bad the temple is bundled with the fire dragon. I might have considered getting it if it were on its own, but I'm not going to now. It's good, though, that Sensei and Garmadon get their own spinner packs. By the way, I saw a Ninjago commercial on TV yesterday. Apparently "Ninjago" is the name of the land the ninjas live in and is pronounced "Ninjaaago".

I tried to enhance the pics: 8200 & 8201 8486 & 8487 It's great that they sell Lightning and Mater separately.

Cool. I like the B-Movie vibe of them. The alien sets are certainly more interesting than the human sets which look like slightly recolored Agents sets. Don't hate me for saying this, but I have never been a big fan of the Classic Space color scheme. It's great that these sets come with civilians for the aliens to terrorize. None of these sets seem to be the battle pack described in the first post though. I tried to enhance the pics as much as I could. Enjoy! Page 1 Page 2

Great job, Sandy! I never realized how well that head would work for a Myrtle!

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club

Congrats, KDM! One more win and you'll finally be a naturally talented Death Eater! May I suggest Walter as your next opponent? Whoever it is, I can adj if you like. Oh, and congrats on becoming a Grand Duke as well, even if it doesn't mean anything. -
It's Dr. Cyber's laboratory and serves as a base for the Time Cruisers. It's where all the time machines and historic hats are stored and where they pick up time-space disturbances. As for having multiple time machines, each time machine was meant different time travel missions. When they needed to travel across land, they used one of the cars. When they needed to travel through water or air, they used one of the boats. I agree that having one iconic time machine equipped for any mission would have made more sense, but it was a nice excuse for producing more sets. Besides, if that's how you wanted to play, you could just pick your favorite time machine and just buy that. No other purchase required. Sorry if I'm taking this a bit too seriously; I'm just tired of hearing how crappy one of my favorite childhood themes was.

Sweet, thanks again Grogall. The tactical droid looks good indeed; very detailed! But it looks like his head wont come off, or be able to turn for that matter. Oh well. On the first box art that we saw, he was sort of standing in the speeder, with his butt leaning against the headrest. Didn't look very good if you ask me; it would probably look better if you remove his legs before seating him.

Well, the theme is fourteen years old, so it's obviously harder to get information on it now than it was when it was new. Back then, there were comics and audiobooks that told the story of this theme in addition to any set descriptions in catalogs and S@H. Obviously you're not getting the point of this theme. The idea was it to combine these sets with any other Lego sets you already had. In the audiobook stories, the Time Cruisers visited already established Lego eras such as Town (present), Pirates, Cowboys, Castle, Aquanauts, Space, etc. The compatibility of TimeCruisers with other Lego themes is what made it so playable and great! Which themes can NinjaGo be combined with? The old ninja theme or Fantasy-era Castle at best.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

January 7, and it's called "Nightsisters". Try checking Wookieepedia next time. -
Yeah, I too feel like this is just gonna be an upgrade of SP3, based on the looks of the figs and the speculated name of the theme. I'm guessing now the aliens aren't just mere criminals, but full-blown galactic conquerors, and this "ADF" team are sort of Starship Troopers defending the earth against them. So, basically it's SP3 but with a slightly more military vibe to it. At least that's what I imagine it will be at this point. Either way, I hope that the aliens get a bit more focus this time around, kinda like they did in Mars Mission. SP3 was rather biased toward the humans.
