  1. Hm... The interior looks very nice, but I feel that the ground floor has a serious lack of candy. The roof looks better now, but the space between it and the sign (which also looks better) still seems too empty. Perhaps you could add another window there? I'm also not so sure about the corner above the door. Sorry, but I think I liked it better the way it was before. There's still something off about the steps too. That last step just looks like an after thought. Maybe it would integrate it better if you added some snow tiles underneath it. I'm also sorry to say that the trap door is a bit disappointing. For one thing, I think it's inaccurate. If memory serves me right, the trap door is located in the cellar of the shop which is accessed through a door behind the counter. Therefore, I would swap the trapdoor with a regular plate, move the counter back, and add a large table with candy in the center of the room. Then you can do as I suggested and build a subterranean level for the basement with the trapdoor. You can have it filled with some large crates and barrels. Maybe you can even leave a hole in the floor next to the counter and have some steps leading down to the basement, but that's just optional since you can also just imagine that the stairs are in the part of the shop that is cut off, just like the stairs to the second floor. Other than that, great work so far! I hope I'm not being too nit-picky. I'm just trying to help you make your entry as awesome as possible.
  2. There already is a topic about useless pieces. I'm sure those gearshift pieces can be used somewhere, if only as greeble on a spaceship. I'm stumped on the Hockey Puck myself though. Just turn it over, and voila - U has a bucket!
  3. Holy Cow! Talk about great minds! Three Broomsticks, Honeydukes, and St. Mungos were the exact same things I was thinking of building for the contest! Good thing I decided to do something else instead. Anyhow, very nice entry. It does indeed look more detailed than your Broomsticks entry, The only things I can think of improving have already been mentioned. The only other idea I can give is what I would have done if I would have built Honeydukes and still had room for a couple of pieces: Put some BURPs under it and make the cellar with the trap door! Looking forward to the interior! PS: I wouldn't have emptied your Broomsticks thread. The mods could have just renamed it so that it could stay as a regular MOC. Now you'll have to make the thread all over again if you still want to share it here.
  4. I don't think it will be just a montage. Based on this new clip, I think "There is no try, only do," anyone?
  5. Oky

    OK, thanks.

  6. Hm, yes, I guess it would. The rules only say "character", so I guess you're right. That opens up a whole lot of possibilities. The question now is: What's the limit? Does a dragon count as a character?

    Oops, I meant avatar.

Oh noez! The Smiths have invaded your sig! :)

Does this mean your project is coming to an end?

I'm still interested in that trade. ;-)

  9. No, Ninjago apparently takes place in modern times. Still quite bizare though.
  10. Great entries so far, everyone, keep it up! I'll enter when I get the time too. By the way, The Lantern Rouge's entry looks very nice, but doesn't your minifig have to be a wizard?
  11. @ Gregorovich & hoiharry: You don't upload the pic to EB; you upload them to Brickshelf or Flickr or something and then deeplink them here. Click here to see how to do that.
  12. Wow, so simple, yet so effective! Great work! I have a lot of those jumper plates too, so I might try this one day myself if you don't mind. I bet this would work great with those SW/Indy/HP Nintendo DS case cover tiles!
  13. Yeah, imagine all those Senate episodes would have been an hour long!
  14. Very nice stuff again, The Penguin. The first few figs feel like simple variations on already existing figs, but they certainly would fit into the Batverse. It gets better with that hilarious stylist, and then we get to the really good stuff. Man Bat sure looks great, but my favorite would have to be Hush. He just looks amazingly accurate! Clayface is good too, very similar to his videogame counterpart, but I think his head is a tad too big. And no, I didn't like him in the videogame either. He didn't look much like himself and his personality was just too silly. Joker looks good too, although I'm beginning to fail to see the difference between your many Joker customs. The crowbar was a nice touch! Very reminiscent of Under the Red Hood. Keep it up! I hope you don't thumb me down for commenting.
  15. Well, you may have seen the movie yourself by now, but since you asked, I thought I'd come back to this. Here's the only instance where you see Jay in non-ninja clothes: Sorry for the blurriness, I hope it helps. On a side note, one of the many logical flaws of the movie that bugged me was: If this takes place in modern times, how is a hang glider considered a "new invention"? What do you mean "through legal means"? Well, an actual bamboo-looking staff would probably be hard for a minifig to hold, but yeah, they could have at least made his staff tan. Then again, we already got so many new molds with this theme that we really shouldn't complain. Uhm, yeah, but technically it's called Skull Motorbike.
  16. You should take off those HP glasses; it says "Contest Winner". No need to be modest.
  17. I know, that's why it was so disappointing to see her portrayed as one in the movie. Well, as we already know, there will be a Wave 2, but all the sets from Wave 2 are based on the first movie, so the earliest that we can espect a sequel is with a third wave. No problem. You have some valid points, but this theme, like so many others, is clearly geared at boys. If you would like to continue this discussion, I'd suggest you start a topic for it in the General Discussions forum. I don't think there is one yet, at least not a current one. Well, it was shown in two separate episodes, "Way of the Ninja" and "King of Shadows", and the story was open-ended, so it did seem like a pilot for a larger series, but there has been no word of a planned series so far. I think it's possible though. And no, there wasn't really anything new in the movie that we don't already have a set of except the dragons and the sail ship that we saw in the trailers, and some Ewok-style gliders and a lame horse carriage. Cool, thanks! That looks like a neat promo. I wonder if they have the other ninjas like that too and where you can get these. This looks like a much better way of acquiring ninjas than the spinner packs. I think I saw it at the Lego Store, but I'm not completely sure. Didn't we already have this conversation? Yes, but it also seems to have less pieces. If you look at the shrine, it's somewhat <insert that tiresome argument>. As for the Lightning Dragon, I think Mrlegoninja has a point in saying that if it's true that the set title includes the word "Battle" it's likely that it will be bundled with a skeleton vehicle, making it more than $20. And don't worry, we all have those buying urges when we see new sets. That's one of the terrible things about seeing early pics.
  18. Or you could just order it from Amazon. They have it on sale right now.
  19. Ugh, I'm so tired of these ever-changing release dates! But if it helps making the game even more awesome than it already seems to be, so be it. Yeah, and this is only the Wii version. Just imagine how amazing the PS3 version is gonna be! This game sure looks like it will make up for the lack of a Battlefront 3 quite nicely. It's strange, though, that the BARC speeder is the same as the one in the new Battle pack and Jango looks like one of the Mandalorians, but other 2011 things such as the proton cannon or Ki Adi Mundi don't look like their real-life counterparts. Perhaps those last-minute changes they are undertaking includes updating those models?
  20. It doesn't have a DVD of its own as far as I know, but it's included in the Hero Factory DVD "Rise of the Rookies".
  21. True, but then again, a lot of episodes in this series suffer from "immortal" characters, so if you can see past that, the episodes are pretty good. However, that's bugging me in this plot arc too. Whenever Assajj or her mother says that she will kill Dooku, I can't help but say "Uh, no she wont" in my head, which takes the dramatic right out of those scenes. But like General Magma said, at least we don't know what exactly will happen to Assajj and Savage. Maybe you haven't noticed, but we have already been getting it. In the last two episodes, for example, we have gotten a bunch of backstory on Assajj and Maul. Are you being sarcastic? It's not just the episode guide, it's the subtitle and theme of the whole season, just like Season 2 was called "Rise of the Bounty Hunters". It's pretty weird, yes, but I didn't think it was that bad. And I think the Lego set looks better than the real thing.
  22. This episode was actually quite good! Aside from the awesome part where Savage single handedly wins the Battle of Devaron, it had some very nicely choreographed hand-to-hand fights. The whole thing about Ventress doing the same thing to Savage as Dooku did to her was portrayed very well too. Nothing to complain about. But shouldn't Zabraks be able to see well in the darkness with those glowing eyes?
  23. Well, I just saw the movie... and I feel kinda dizzy. Even the freakin dragons were spinning! Other than that, it was actually kinda fun. The skeletons were even more anoying than the battle droids from The Clone Wars, but Sensei Wu was hilarious. I totally want his minifig now. They left it open-ended, so maybe there will be a sequel. I liked how the skull vehicles utilized a flux capacitor to cross over to the Underworld. What I didn't like were the countless plot holes, but I guess those were to be expected from a movie that is solely made to sell sets (and trading cards, and a boardgame, and a videogame, and books, and watches, and...). It was also pretty lame that Nya's sole purpose was to give Kai a reason to join the ninjas. If we do get a sequel, I hope she'll join them too and start taking care of herself. No, he is talking about 2506 Skull Truck. Yes, it was in the movie, as were all the other summer sets.
  24. I think the winners were already announced because one of our members reported winning second place: Link. And I don't have the rules, sorry.
  25. Very good. It does have that certain dieselpunk feel to it. I like the use of the backpacks and that divers piece in the back. However, I don't see how this is inspired by Sky Captain. It's too colorful and greebly for that.
