Calm down, Iz. They're good shots IMO. The blue background compliments buckbeak nicely. Some parts of the shots could have been more in focus such as Buckbeak's beak in the first pic, or Harry's face in the second. Perhaps try playing with the depth of field a bit. I don't like the Ron pic too much though. Not only is that my least favorite Ron minifig, but the pic is also too over-flooded with orange. I would try playing around with the color balance a bit, or use a new, more contrasty background all together. Is that enough constructive criticism for ya? @ Burman: That line in the background of your pics is distracting. Try getting rid of it by using one large bent paper as your background. @ Soloscud: Your pics are kinda dark. If you have Photoshop, use Auto Color and Auto Contrast on them. Also, it would have been nice if Dr. Jones was in focus in the first pic. I have been meaning to do some Licensed Photography myself, so I'm glad this thread exists. Someone should make a Flickr pool for this too.

Of course the Fire Dragon isn't Garmadons! That wouldn't make any sense. I do hope that he comes with that set anyway though. That would be a nice and cheap way of getting him.

What's the best Minifigure ever made?
Oky replied to Mr. Elijah Timms's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd say the arm and leg printed Boba Fett. Can't beat that kind of detail IMO. -

Yeah, doesn't really look as sith-like to me as some had claimed earlier. The yellowishness of her eyes (or just the left eye, actually) is probably just because of the lighting. If it was really supposed to be Darth Maul style eyes, they would glow much more. My guess is that she'll be controlled by that evil purple-lightining-guy for a while, and just before she kills Anakin, she'll snap out of it and be back to notmal, and then they'll kick his skinny behind together. You know, the usual cliche good-guy-possessed-by-bad-guy story. -
It doesn't need to be a minifig, but it does have to be Lego related, I believe. Why not build that Hagrid's Hut symbol out of bricks? And yes, your avatars are indeed quite amusing! Do you make them yourself?

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club

Sure! I'd be delighted to let you loose against the first to-be Auror in this game! Who'd like to adj this epic duel? -
Way ahead of you guys! Just one question: If the winners are picked randomly, isn't it technically a raffle, not a contest? No clue. I don't see a difference. Uhm, a Ravenclaw crest?

Maybe you're finally showing mercy? Good will always triumph over evil! I don't know how effective Sectumsempra is since no one has taken it yet (you're welcome to be the first) but Natural Talent has proven to be very useful in the past! Your call. -
I think these deserve to be deeplinked! Fire Dragon Earth Dragon NinjaGo Temple They all look great IMO, except the Fire Dragon which is a bit too much like the Ice Dragon. The Earth Dragon is neat though with all those brown rocky pieces and olive green fins! The temple looks great as well and should be a hit among history nuts!

Ahem. Does anyone think the cars will be motorized in some way? I think it would be neat if they were, and if the grand prix set was like the Multi-Challenge Race Track from seven years ago rather than just another tiny turbos playset. It would also justify all the new molds.

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club

Nooo! I was so close! Good duel, CMP, congrats on being the first to graduate. Once I become an auror, perhaps we can duel again. Now, who would like to be the lucky person to allow me this promotion? -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

Thanks for posting something credible for once that awesome trailer, commanderneyo. That looks pretty good, but then again, anything that has DotF as the score does and anything would be better than the last few episode we got. It's still hard for me to believe that Ahsoka would turn to the dark side just like that, but like someone already said, it would be the most logical way for her to disappear from the scene. My favorite bit: ARC troopers vs. commando droids. The Republic's best versus the CIS' best. This should be good. Uhm... I don't think that's Anakin. -
Yay! A whole panel dedicated to me! And the Blue Avenger wasn't spying, I'm sure he was patrolling, ensuring the safety of his high command. This is looking good! Can't wait for the next part!

Here's the trailer again, deeplinked, and with an introduction by Captain Jack himself! It certainly got me excited. -

Argh! The suspense is killing me! Hurry up, CMP & CF! -
Not really. I would have much prefered a face more like this. This one looks kinda like he is posing for a picture. As for me, I think I'll have to go with Bellatrix. She is just such a perfect representation of her movie self! But the original Harry Potter fig will always have special place in my heart: The Snape fig from the OotP castle deserves special mention as he is pretty spot-on as well, although he looks even better with black Dastan hair.

Yeah, I guess you have a point about PM... I just REALLY want that temple, so I hope you're wrong.

What's so great about tan skellies? I know they look like yellowed versions of the normal white skellies, but without heads, they will not be very useful. Good point, not to mention it comes with a heap of weapons and other good parts for a set of this size. Yes, this set will surely be sought after. Let's hope the price will be good (though I have little hope if it's indeed a TRU exclusive). Yes, but these are Lego sets, not action figures. Look again: The word "exclusive" is separated from the rest with a line, and it says "Dragon Ninja and spinner included" as a new sentence.
-
If by "fab" you mean "fabulous", then yes. Seriously, I think you should be more open minded. I think you're so blinded by your disgust of new molds that you are only seeing the worst in this theme, no matter what the reality is. And like Aanchir said, you shouldn't judge a whole theme by one pic of one character from it. If you can't do that, perhaps you should just stay out of this thread.

Hi, everyone, I have some non-Lego Lego Star Wars news! I found pics of the sticker collection and some other books on Amazon. It has a release date of January 31 and a price of $12. Pics are links to the Amazon pages. I also found these sticker books which only contain 250 stickers, one with heroes, one with villains. If they're the same stickers included in the 1000-sticker collection I do not know. They're slated for release on January 20. Amazon.com doesn't show prices for them, but Amazon.de lists them as EUR 5,99 which is about 60% of the price of the collection book. And this might be even less interesting than the sticker books, but I also found this board book entitled "Lego Star Wars: Save the Galaxy". It's released on February 1st and costs $9.99. It's obviously for children, but it looks kinda cute.
-
Well, I certainly am. I mean, what the heck? Is it supposed to come alive or something? I hope these sets come out soon, if only so that I can read the set descriptions for answers. The cameo appearance of Brains is nice, especially since he's one of my favorite PMs.
-
Second half?! Why would they release it so late? No, I'm pretty sure they'll come out before that. It's a January wave, so it's not all that surprising they aren't out yet. Just be patient.

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club
Oky replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Actually, natural talent had little to do with it this time. Perhaps it's your duel strategy that needs some work. Same here! I suppose we could have an epic winner-takes-all rematch, if you're up for it. -

Diana Fabray VS. Carlos Peerce Round 2 Diana______________________________Carlos High - 0_____________________________Crucio - 1 Mid - 0______________________________Low - 1 Low - 0______________________________High - 1 High - 0 _____________________________Expelliarmus - 0 Crucio - 1____________________________Mid - 0 Health: 0____________________________Health: 4 (3) Carlos hated it when someone else used the Cruciatus curse on him. He shook off the pains, stood up, and yelled "Crucio!" Soon enough, Diana was screaming and twitching on the floor again. Among the agonizing pain, she tried to hit her opponent with curses, but each one missed. Carlos walked up to her and cast one curse at her legs, and one at her head, finishing her off for good. "Thanks," he said as he walked away, "this was amusing." Winner: Carlos Peerce Interesting idea using the same DS twice, KDM, but apparently not a good one. Too bad. Congrats on another easy win, CMP.
