[MOC] RC Telehandler
pow replied to legomarat's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I totally ignored the telehandler. And now clicked on the link by accident and realized it is motorized - AT THAT SCALE! I had this dafuuq feeling in my tummy, you know what i mean! What i wanted to say is: could be useful to add the motorization to the title! Great MOC, i like it a lot. -
Yup i now understand what you were thinking about! Would be clever of TLG to put some special and uncommon parts into such gift packages, to motivate customers to visit their stores ;-). And it could be clever to develop mini sets that fit to the larger sets in scale and thematically. Like something that could be lifted with the crane it comes with. Or tuning parts for a car. So customers get some unique benefit. But a 200 pieces set? I can't imagine TLG doing that as a Technic-GWP.

german based company alternate.de (unfortunately not in australia) has zero shipping charges - at least today. Maybe you'll find a similar offer if you go on the lookout. Hehe thank you! Someone at rebrickable wrote that it is realistic enough that it (and i'm quoting) "had to be hidden from the cat"!

Interesting for german based Lego fans (maybe D-A-CH - Austria and Switzerland too): At least today (2023-11-12) Alternate (https://www.alternate.de/Spielzeug/LEGO) doesn't charge you on shipment and has overall relatively low prices for Lego sets. There will be more sales in the coming days, called Black November and Lego Deal Days (at 14th, 17th, 21st and 24th of November).

I just realized today that TLG has added only ONE small (100-200 parts) Technic set to the list. And it looks like it will be a tracked vehicle as it counts 195 parts. So maybe 60 track links and the rest is beef?! That makes two tracked Vehicles (snow groomer and heavy duty bulldozer) for the small-sets-lineup. No ship, no helicopter, no more plane as the 42117 went(?) out of production. Something with articulated steering would have been nice and useful. And would fit just perfectly into the current lineup. The Offroad Racebuggy, TLG has added to the list sounds interesting to me. But compared to the 176 parts of the 42147 Dump Truck, you get for 10€ (12$?), the 219 parts of the Buggy(16€) look expensive to me. Can anyone provide more information on the sets? Especially for the parts of the Bulldozer? Does the Offroader get shock absorber(one or two)?

Let me introduce you to my latest creation - a Transformer. The construction was very time consuming. But I think the effort was worth it. The cabin looks a little bit wild. But everything at tire height has become very elegant. There are also some funny solutions to look at. For example, the antennas on the Transformers head. They poke into the legs when folded into a truck. This prevents the wheels from spreading out when driving around. _DSC4294ready by Pow, Flickr xtraGif by Pow, Flickr

[MOC] 42148 Tractor
pow replied to ilyabuilder724's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice tractor, as I already wrote on reb.li. ;) I agree with you, the set is very "bulky" to moc. And from a design standpoint, the set also only has 122 parts + 2 tracks. What really is a pity is that TLG did not include 3x1 Plates with the set. Since a chain link fits perfectly inside a 3x1 plate, that would expand the design possibilities. Or alternatively a few more bars to stretch the tracks on and create organic shapes. -
Hehe, why not using it to your advantage? If you just really wanna build this particular Model you could do something like that: Develop it in monochrome style (pure white/black/grey) and in a "fantasy" livery that every one would love and that grabs a lot of attention (maybe the Gulf livery for example or colors that really shine, like "80's Malboro-white-and-neon-red"). And then tell that story(that you had to go for that color scemes) so the audience understands your decision and can choose what they want. If you are very lucky people start a discussion about/on(?) your decisions and you get a lot of traffic on your model.

Zero's workshop
pow replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Don't the motors, as they are lined up on one side, affect stability? So the car tends to role over to the side of the motors? The packaging of the buggy motors plus rear axle is super tight! Very nice! How is the weight distribution of the drifter? That is awful. -

Sorry, this question is a bit out of context: Do you have a second rebrickable account? Cause i noticed that your design can be found on the page of NARP from Chile (and only there)? Nice plane, by the way! https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-137750/NARP/propeller-plane/#details
