[MOC] Winter in the Raven's Wharf - Medieval City
LegoAUT replied to Kozikyo86's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That ship and also the fisherman‘s boat look so great. Can‘t wait for the instructions as I am dying for a more realistic medieval ship! -
Scallywag Pirate appreciation thread - best Lego pirate ever (?)
LegoAUT replied to zinnn's topic in LEGO Pirates
I am not a hardcore pirates expert so I wasn‘t aware of that fig at all, so thank you! I agree that it is an amazing pirate fig and I will surely try to get it on BL (if the price is reasonable). -
See, I for instance would have loved to see more details. I think it looks a bit bare. I also would have absolutely hated if they brought back the original wall panels or raised baseplate.
-
Hmm.. I guess it‘s a matter of preference. I believe combining bricks with plates and rounded plates makes for a more realistic looking wall in older/ historical buildings. I would not use it for modern buildings though, unless I would want a withered effect. I agree!
-
I just saw this - wow!
-
It would be cool if they would include some piraty-style minifigs in the BAM-towers as of July!
-
Well, it‘s not the same effect though, is it? The one TLG opted for here looks much more refined than stacking brick on brick. They apparently took some inspiration from MOC builders and other companies who try to create more realistic walls.

After a first glance: I am also slightly disappointed. I expected a somewhat more modern version and I am not a fan of the all black dock and crane and they could have subsituted the yellow with something more realistic lice pastel yellow. Generally it is a nice set though and the price is rather fair. The little ship seems to be almost identical to the one from the Trading Post. It‘s great, just wish it was sliiiightly bigger. Still, will get this probably day one. edit: seems indeed almost like a 2 in 1 of trading post and eldorado fortress. I like that!

At some point probably, however, if compared to 10305 the „real availability“ (meaning not being sold out constantly) will probqbly be around 8-9 months after release.
-
I think that remains to be seen but is the assumption of some people.

I would absolutely hate that haha -
I think the hull pieces are not that expensive on BL.

I assume they will just use different plumes or helmets.. -
For me this issue is very simpe: the patent of Lego has long run out, therefore knock-offs are legitimate and competition is good for the customer.

[OFFICIAL] NEW Skeleton Pirate BAM (Build A Minifigure)
LegoAUT replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thanks mate! -
I know ;) still, if you buy directly from them every now and then you could almost treat it like a discount.
-
Did anyone really expect anything else? They even said that they will analyse the sales of Rivendell to assess whether further LOTR sets will actually be produced. I am a big LOTR-fan but currently I just cannot justify spending 500€ (or 450 if you take double VIP into account) on this set. I can easily afford it, I just think the price is crazy.. I will get it at some point for sure, but I don‘t feel the urgency anymore. It is really beautiful, however, I must admit that I expected a little more..
-
I agree with you here. I also like Bluebrixx and especially in the niches TLG does currently not serve they have some amazing sets for adults (esp castle/ medieval and western), still, sometimes I miss the „Lego Style“ of things, like the little fun details that you for instance see at the PoBB or new 10305 castle.
-
I agree! This is why I could not care less about any MOC on rebrickable in this sense. I want exclusive minifigs and parts I can‘t get anywhere else (plus, Lego setdesign still often is special compared to what most MOC builders deliver). Don‘t get me wrong, I build my own MOCs (bricksaut on Insta) and I love a good MOC from others, but what I need to populate the MOCs with are minifigs, animals, cloth/ fabric parts etc.

[OFFICIAL] NEW Skeleton Pirate BAM (Build A Minifigure)
LegoAUT replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Wait a minute, is this hat/ hairpiece available at the BAM towers?? -
That makes absolute sense and (sadly) it works! I just bought the two small Indiana Jones sets yesterday because I craved a new Lego set and Eldorado is still not confirmed/ revealed haha. But wanted these Indy sets anyway and was getting them sooner or later. I try not to impulse buy Lego. This will be great! I loved PoBB :)
-
That‘s the spirit haha
-
I agree. I personally would actually prefer the trading post haha. Either way, both of these sets would be amazing as modern remakes.
-
You are right, but they build the hype around a confirmed new game, while the existence of this remake is still not confirmed in any way, this is where I struggle to understand the policy. I don‘t think TLG can reasonably expect to build a hype based on a months old rumor and on a hand full of people discussing this rumor in some forum..
-
I just don‘t understand Lego‘s marketing policy.. why not release a teaser some time before an actual release to build excitement? Why do they sometimes reveal pics of new products months in advance and sometimes they try to do it as close to release as possible? This makes no sense to me.
