Yeah this makes sense as well, it all depends on how the new sets will be executed (if Lego really restarts the theme). I now need to check if my Star Wars childhood sets (with the yellow heads) are worth anything haha

Same, there is no rush (for me), this set will be available for some time. I agree, this will be very interesting and I would assume they will actually lose much value if Lego actually re-release the previous sets in one form or another.

Well then he should have declined, but to blame it all on the studio is absurd. Jackson loved the outcome and during the play there were making-ofs where he was super excited etc. It‘s an okay movie but nothing more. Also I believe CGI is more expensive and takes longer than prostetics.. plus, they HAD prostetics, just not for the main villain characters.

After the Hobbit Trilogy, I am not sure if this is a good or a bad thing..

There is literally just one LOTR set in 2023 and we don‘t know if we‘ll ever get more..

Thanks for the explanation amd the link, @Triceron! Makes sense, however, it seems also Lego has gotten worse quality wise since the „sprue-points“ are often visible nowadays which I don‘t think was the case back then, however, this is rather a problem of the plastic/ colour and not of the mould.

A 10 years old set that many were not able to get back then does not help anyone ;) Please just accept that many were not able to buy the initial LOTR or Hobbit wave back when it was first released.

Agreed, however, the acting of Galadriel in almost all scenes was bad in my view, she just was not able to show any facial expressions whatsoever, compared to e.g. Elrond, Arondir or Durin. So yes, the writing has flaws, but to the same extent the acting was rather bad.

I think the acting was so very poor.. and the whole character acted more liked a little brat than the Galadriel of the books/ OT. Her behaviour in Numenor was just ridiculous and her whole being does not invoke a bit of sympathy in me.. I think they could have hardly found a less fitting actress for this role.. ofc it‘s not her fault alone but also the one of the writers, but still. True, but the quote made it very obvious imo.

To me RoP is a 6,5 out of 10; in the end, I found it quite enjoyable and was able to disregard most of the megablocks, but I must agree, the cast is to a larger extent very bad. Galadriel being clearly the worst, but followed closely by Bronwyn and Theo. Isildur was also pretty bad and so were Gil Galad and Celebrimbor (even though the actor delivered a good performance in The Crown). I enjoyed Elrond, Elendil and Durin and somehow liked Gandalf haha

I think you all overestimate the investment into a new mould.. it‘s not very expensive to create such a mould, especially not for a company as large as TLG, so like Richard said, if they are unhappy with the sales, there being a new mould will give us nothing.

Maybe they are just scanning the forums for keywords with some (dumb) AI haha - this is what we get. It has been said ever so often that many fans were not able to get the old sets/ figures in time so the argument is kind of invalid.. good for you if you have the old ones, but many don‘t and generally the old sets should not prejudice anything TLG may be doing with that theme going forward.

I personally could not care less about the box tbh, sure, I appreciate a beautiful box? But this one is not horrible, so I am okay with it and honestly, I don‘t have space to keep them for long anyway. I also threw the 10305 box away after a month or so, there is just no use in keeping those forever in my opinion. :)
