LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

^^ Yeah agreed capes look great until they get dusty or if they get lodged in one spot too long. You can't really have a caped minifig piloting a starfighter on display without getting the old "box butt" syndrome when they stand up. Batman is also very guilty of this. Thanks for the correction. I missed that. "Wolf" is written on many pieces of Rebels concept art and also Dave Filoni is said to be fond of wolves (?) so I just assumed there would be another wave. Star Wars: Rebels season one broke several ratings records for Disney XD and is a critical and commercial success. I'm sure for years to come (beyond the series' run, probably) we'll be getting more Rebels sets. All we have to do is sit here and wait. Since it is almost certain that the new episode 7 X-Wing is part of September's bonanza, can we speculate as to which piece will comprise the now half-circular twin engines? I don't see that TLG currently has a piece that works in that particular instance... where they would usually use an Engine 3X3X6 piece. I'm really very pleased with the Gozinti ("Imperial Assualt Carrier") 75016. It's something new and frankly with all these repeats and remakes we get I'm grateful for anything that's new and has a decent piece count. The strong presence throughout Rebels plus the figs makes it an absolute must buy for me. There does appear to be an interior of some substance. I'm dying for better pics of the interior, does anyone know where there are better up-close pics? -

I am to understand that we have a number of sets codenamed "Wolf" for later this year... which are all Rebels sets. There are seven of them. Wolf is Dave Filoni's code name (it's cool to have a code name). I'm hoping for a spread of both season 1 and 2 elements in said wave. Anyone catch the Lego panel from Celebration? They showed some clips from the upcoming Droid Tales series. Not too bad... and you have to wonder if there any future sets or elements in them... Cloud (cough) City. It's here at or around the 7:20:00 mark. -

Glorious find that Lars homestead. Looks like we have some clusters of moisture vaporators. Let's hold out hope we'll see a proper system scale of this someday. Here's the sales copy: "Micro-scale LEGO replica of an iconic scene on Tatooine from Star Wars: Episode IV, builders can assemble Aunt Beru’s and Uncle Owen’s house, complete with a moisture collection machine. Next to the house is the Landspeeder that Luke Skywalker™ will use to begin his adventures. Also included in the mini landscape are micro versions of C-3PO and R2-D2, who are sold to Luke and Uncle Owen by the Jawas™ alongside of their micro-scale Sandcrawler™. The set also includes a C-3PO minifigure." (source: http://starwars15.ma...E2FC47EBBCA2996) -

Looking at the throne room set 75093 there's no way that's a modular set designed to integrate into a future set. I also highly doubt another Death Star will be produced anytime soon - unless its smaller. 10188 had a whopper of a price point. I tend to believe, also, that the size/number of rooms was perfect for the set. Yes - maybe a smaller Death Star maybe with fewer rooms (three floors rather than one) and I can totally see them going with outer coverings but at least keep in mind that if it increases in piece count it's going to be really freakin' difficult to move around. I don't know about ya'll but when I go to lift my 10188 for display, play or cleaning I need all my concentration to lift and settle it down gently... also it helps to clear a walking path and destination table space first. It is gargantuan. Not going to be easy to move a larger Death Star around. Just my two bits. I also believe that TLG may be more interested in getting more Death Stars sold to more people... so if they can pull one off at a $350USD price point, doesn't it stand to reason they'll sell more of them than if they produce a $550-$600USD Death Star? I was always hoping some Star Wars MOC genius would put out instructions on how to cover up 10188's to look like Death Star I. Has anyone ever seen etcknight's MOC of a cross between 10188 / 10143? It's a beaut. You can see the encouraging results here and here. On the topic of the Sith Infiltrator 75096 I understand we aren't allowed to post images or links to "confidential images" content. There was a link to a German Star Wars Lego page a few posts up... try poking about over there under Collector's Guide / Lego Star Wars / Sets / 2015. FYI - they just show the figures, not the ship / full box image. -

It's TLG's way of saying, "We are never going to make a Watto's Junkyard again, so here's Watto. Build a junkyard with your own pieces." -

Did anyone else who saw Fire Across The Galaxy think this? I think the season finale also explains a bit why we get Sabine with that Imperial Troop Carrier set. -
Slow clap.... rising... standing ovation! Brilliant. A number of times I tried making bounty hunter ships from The Clone Wars... nothing I didn't junk afterwards. These are really terrific.

Overall great news, on the long term brand partnership with Lego and Star Wars... and appropriate for Valentines Day they are going to be together forever. I just hope it doesn't take "forever" for TLG group to give us all what we want and need, a proper Cloud City. Every time I visit this thread I hope to see news about it and I know I'm not the only one. If it shows up one day looking like that Final Duel set for this summer, I think I'm sticking with 10123. There's no excuse if the the final build includes that blue lightsaber. Return of the Jedi has been out since 1984 so that is a few decades that we've seen Luke and his green saber.... but TLG seems color blind in certain areas, e.g. the latest flick fire missles. TIE fighters have never fired any color than green and yet... red flick fires. We get green flick fires in the Ghost set, but there's the Ghost in Star Wars Rebels firing red lasers. Is this a ploy for us to buy both kits and switch them? (ahem... guilty as charged.) Sorry for the rant but if you are in the business of making Star Wars toys out of Lego, get the colors right. Unbelieveable awesomeness here, look at this incredible version of Cloud City. It's huge! It should be huge. It's a city. TLG better be bringing us something along these lines, with terrific interiors before too long. Having tried to pull off something that does the exterior justice many, many times in MOCs - hats off to this brilliance. -

Probably the polybags are the perfect scale - but they would squash like pancakes under the weight of the cruiser! Unless you mean to swoosh, and not display, rollermonkey. -
Microfig-scale interior? That's a dealbreaker. Sorry TLG, really great try, but no way. Especially at that price point. For that price, I expect Sam Jackson and Scarlett Johanssen to show up help me build it. My Avengers are goin' in the upcoming tower instead.

Came across the new Rebels kits the other day and I was checking out the box of 75082 (TIE advanced prototype) and there is an "Imperial Officer" named so, but looking at his face printing (light flesh, gaunt face and bags under his eyes) closely I could have sworn that he was supposed to be Cumberlayne Arseko. Has anyone else noticed this? I thought we would see figures of him, Taskmaster Grint and Minister Maketh Tua in the summer wave. -

So the Gizinti-class imperial cruiser confirmed but the TIEs are mini-scale. That's kind of too bad... although at real System-scale for minifigs the carrier would be gigantic, so it's not really all that surprising. Just great to have a new Imperial capital ship! -

Ahem, well in the spirit of plot theories being off-base... a few observations and crazy theories: First off - are we one hundred percent about the USC TIE being a OT TIE? Because what if... that USC TIE is the giant red one from upcoming Episode 7? See it makes a bit more sense (to me, anyway) that System-scale TIE kits like the Inquisitor's are coming out because if we are also getting the Gizinti carrier from Star Wars: Rebels, would it not be in their interest to make TIES at that scale to dock with the underside? If true, who wants a full load of 4 TIE underneath the Gizinti? That would be a striking display of Star Wars Lego. There are rumors of a "crazy" looking, multiple-legged walker to appear in The Force Awakens. Does this mean it may be one of those sets? Lego loves making walkers. Oh yes. Finally, agreed to those Rebels fans to think "Wolf" is a code name for Rebels. Some of the recent production art for Rebels has a large WOLF label on each of them. Dave Fioni. If there is any remainder of a glimpse of hope Cloud City this year it would be one of these Rebels sets - I can only provide 2 bits of evidence to support this argument: An upcoming episode features Lando. Though it may all take place on Lothal (as usual) it puts forth a LOT of hope that we will be visiting everyone's favorite Tibanna gas mine in this series... I'm hoping this season. Doesn't anyone think Tseebo's grey/white outfit somewhat resembles Lobot's, not to mention he's wearing the exact same style computer interface on his head? It just makes you think there's an intentional connection somehow. When TLG issued The Death Star 10188 they cleverly included interior locations of Death Star I and II. A large or modular Cloud City could have the same approach - carbonite pit, elevators to hotel rooms, etc. while the 'Rebels' facing interiors may feature casinos, etc. Would anyone appreciate a set based on Lothal somewhere in the mix? Call me crazy but I want to build some of those purple mounds... that and grassy plains are all the scenery Lothal appears to offer. Speculative first full Rebels Wave (heavily influenced by Rebels S1 storylines): 75107 £14.99 - Tseebo's Escape - Tseebo, Sabine *with pink helmet, Stormtrooper x2 75108 £14.99 - Training Mission - Zare, Ezra, Camberlayne Arsko and Taskmaster Grint 75109 £19.99 - Ambush on Fort Anaxes - Hera, Sabine *with pink helmet, 2x Fyrnocks 75110 £19.99 - Sabotage on Empire Day - Minister Maketh Tua, Valen Rudor, Zeb, Stormtrooper 75111 £24.99 - Duel on Fort Anaxes - Ezra, Kanan, Inquisitor, Alpha Frynock 75112 £29.99 - Gamble at Cloud City - Modular casino location, Zeb, Hera, Lando, Chikatro Vizago I was also thinking "Arrival on Fort Anaxes" could be that large imperial shuttle that the Inquisitor takes to Fort Anaxes when tracking The Phantom. You know... the cockpit is raised above the assembly area where the troopers are loaded, leaving room for the ramp in front. Probably way easier to play with than the design of the Tydirium. -
Thanks for the review and pics. This is a really nice looking walker. One question - how snug are the AT-DP drivers sitting in their seats? The cockpit looks good. Actually I'm not crazy about the AT-DP helmets on the show but I dig the minifigs! Good stuff. Awesome facial hair for Kallus!

Thanks for the review and great photos! This one's an absolute mess. Since it's neither System nor Microfighter scale it fails to work at either level. I know it's "System scale" with air quotes but I want to see this next to the 7155 just to be sure how wrong this build got. I really hope this is the last time TLG slips up in such a major way. But the proportional errors here are astronomical. The turret is Bugs-Bunny cartoonish, compared to the advent calendar one I actually think the calendar version is much closer to resembling an AAT. I'm guessing with the kit it may be possible to "fix" it just be rebuilding some of it but... nah. Time to Bricklink another 7155. Luckily the rest of this Star Wars wave looks dandy.

About the rumored large-scaleness of the Hoth base - maybe we are finally getting some of those fancy shield generators. We all know that the best Hoth MOCs feature them, and TLG must be aware they are part of the iconic landscape there. Nice to see Yularen's career advancing. High ranking Imperials in white uniforms? Yes please! TheBrickHitHouse is spot-on: I just reserved a seat for him in the conference room of the mighty 10188. -

Perhaps the problem with those two OT locations are that TLG likes to put flick fire missles on everything, everywhere. Since there are no appreciable spots to place flick fires on the shores of swampy Degobah and the curved hallways of Cloud City they will continue to be overlooked. I'm super surprised we aren't even getting a 'duel above the wind vane' set (there was such an excellent photo of that in the recent Dark Side Lego DK book). Such critical pieces of the saga and they are being left out! Hopefully with new(er) stories taking place on Degobah (Clone Wars Lost Missions) and Bespin (upcoming Rebels) there may be a chance TLG will tackle them. Perhaps the Rebels will also visit Degobah - it's not impossible. Until then, the best way to deal with these continued disappointments is simple - build your own MOCs! The 4502 X-Wing Fighter from ten years ago has a great Yoda's hut - it's a good start. As for Cloud City, 10123 has flaws but for the only official option I'd say it's pretty good - and not super expensive to Bricklink if you ignore the large landing platform. I hope that Naboo fighter has't gone chibi-style like the AAT did. A couple of N1 fighters next to each other would be a striking display. -

Really great pix, thanks! Sabine's hair is not orange enough. And what is going on with that lightsaber-hilt / blaster? It looks like neither with the binoculars piece. Despite these two gripes, this will be bought on sight. Are Sabine's blaster pistols new? I haven't seen them anywhere else. Only in Star Wars sets? The flickie blasters will work much better on vehicles, they are ugly in minifig hands. This set provides a few Rebels spoilers it seems. A Rebel-painted speederbike (room to park on The Ghost?) and Ezra gets a lightsaber with blaster function, which I guess we already knew from other toy images. I'm encouraged, these bikes are a major improvement on previous multiple versions of speederbikes. They look much bulkier and sturdy. -

For something that size/price, they would do well to include both. Kinda like the DeLorean had all the parts to make any of the 3 variants from the 3 BTTF films. -

Okay then... I don't think Cloud City is happening, also I'm starting to think TLG can't pull it off because they can't figure out how to do it... how to design and release it at an acceptable price point(s) and include all the functions AND possibly invoke the shape/look of the structure overall. MOC from scratch or Bricklinking 10123 is the only way for Cloud City to represent on your shelves for the foreseeable future. They can't seem to figure out how to do TIEs either... they keep getting larger and more expensive instead of smaller and cheaper. TIES are supposed to be cheap, lightweight and plentiful. Ask The Empire. Granted, after all that scorn (sorry TLG) I must say the 2015 wave of Rebels stuff does look promising. This next year across all Lego themes are going to strafe and fire proton torpedoes right into the ol' wallet. -

Overall it seems as though the piece-count erosion for the waves of kits continues apace. It's the 75080 AAT that really proves it this time, as it appears to be in limbo between system scale and microfighters. Ultimately, it doesn't matter to me for the continual piece-count erosion simply means more modding and that's fine. This is Lego, after all, use your spare pieces. With a few tan 2x4's you could elongate the saucer bit from the new 75080 AAT from the middle to display next to the old (first) AAT, 7155. I just built the 75052 over the weekend and it should be called, "The Mos Eisley Cantina Starter Kit." It shows you how to start building the cantina but you'll need spare bits or another 75052 to complete it. That would be frustrating if you didn't have a lot of extra tan bits lying around. Anyway, great to see the high-res versions at last (don't care to comment much on the prelims) and I can see getting at least 75% of this fun wave. 75079, 75088 and 75089 look fun but seem to be thinly veiled attempts to recycle old molds in new colors... learning from Hasbro's Transformers playbook, eh TLG? ;) Would love to know what the Inquisitor's face looks like. On the fence over the new Tuskins but they are sorely overdue. -

You mean 10198? It's already pretty small, to make it any smaller they'd have to ditch the interior spaces. Not sure if you have it but it's a fantastic kit... but a tight squeeze for a little rebel army! Judging from where Rebels looks to be headed, I imagine they will do Tantive IV again and finally a Bail. The newest Rebels trailers (SDCC) have quite a few potential sets in them if you freeze frame.
