  1. Looks great! A lot of these details and techniques remind me of the UCS model, but somehow you crammed it all into a ship a fraction of the size!
  2. If you want to combine two castles without exposing the interiors and leaving a hole in the wall for the water wheel you could try this arrangement! (image cred to @Aanchir)
  3. The geometry of the AT-TE legs look perfect for attaching a dropship, but it looks like it uses the same floppy legs as previous models. This makes the foot able to contact the ground for its entire length of travel, but complicates things when you want them to be load bearing. My dropship for the 2013 walker will probably still work with no modification though, if this crazy idea ends up not being practical.
  4. Its such a small change to the front of the cockpit, but it makes it look a lot better. Nice!
  5. It almost seems like they plan the official reveals after when leaks happen... anyway that AT-TE pic still looks suspicious to me because it is mostly blurred horizontally rather than just being blurred in general. Also there is still technically the 4+ AT-ST, but I don't think anyone is really counting on that.
  6. You might want to try a "rock and lock" system to attach the stand (think AK magazine). The back of the stand would have a hook that the defender slots into before resting the beginning of its neck on the edge of the stand, locking it in place. Because the defender's center of gravity is so far forward, this may cause some unfortunate bending, but it should hold.
  7. The gap in the print on the top of the head is a bit wide, but other than that it looks fantastic
  8. Huh, I guess I was surprisingly accurate... I think the Tree of Souls was a better choice as it is much more recognizably "Pandora" rather than just a big tree that happens to be in Pandora
  9. I think the size of the 7163 gunship (the 2002 one) is perfect. It does just barely fit 30 troops in the hold, and the clone helmets just barely fit under the ceiling beam. Not sure if they would make it at the $100 price point, but this is a wishlist thread after all
  10. I think recreating an official set in Studio is a great way to get comfortable with the software, but I haven't done much designing in Studio. I usually build things IRL first, and then rebuild them in the software
  11. Well, the 212th airborne trooper from Grievous's starfighter had hip printing, as well as the 187th airborne to represent the buckle thing below the belt. As @wesker pointed out, the 212th troopers also have details below the belt, so I think it'll be more or less the same as we have been getting.
  12. I just saw the Avatar WOW trailer before Dr. Strange and
  13. The attachment of the wings to the pylons looks overengineered if anything, but I'm a bit worried about the center connection. I generally don't like using jumpers for structural connections, and setting the technic liftarms one stud out from their connection points can be a bit iffy. Id recommend using the brackets to lock the outsides of the hex parts together as well as attach details as long as it stays flush with the strut technic bricks. This is a thousand times better than the original though, and has a pretty good chance of working out fine
  14. IMO the 2013 AT-TE is the best looking and has the best stability by far. I'm ok with the size, but the interior really needs some work. I'm excited to see the build, hope they improve the interior, but the figs alone are gonna make he new one an S tier set.
  15. I don't want to get caught up in the drama of it all, but here's an idea to get that cockpit to stay up. I don't care how well secured that axle is, unless it it made of steel it alone probably isn't enough to hold up the cockpit ball. You need some way to keep tension on the top half of the ball, so I decided to put some tiles on brackets to try to dodge the top strut. Secure that other end and you should be good to go. Hopefully you can see what I'm getting at with this simple mock up. As for the wing attachment, just remember that brackets are your friend, they are very useful at locking things in place.
  16. Dual moulded-threepio may not have existed in the first place without the backlash, I'm not too upset about it. Has there ever been a star wars character with dual-moulded legs that didn't come in a UCS / MBS?
  17. I'm gonna guess that the Banshees and other animals will be built "ninjago style" with a mix of brick building and unique moulds rather than "dinosaur style" 75571 has a very high ppp suggesting no new, large, or complex moulds, so I'm guessing some human thing, maybe a mech? 75573 I'm hoping is a Samson. That's honestly the one thing I really want from this theme 75574 either Hometree with a horse or two or that glowing tree from the third act. There definitely should be at least one location based set These are just my predictions based on the first movie, the avatar 2 editors are probably furiously trying to cut down an 8 hour movie, so who knows what's gonna end up in the final cut. If they do end up making any from 2, I don't want another First Order Snowspeeder or Heavy Scout Walker situation from Star Wars for example.
  18. Wow, this feels like walking through a museum!
  19. Just reread the Promobricks article on the summer 2022 sets, and for the AT-TE the exact wording is "small spider droid", not "dwarf spider droid". I'm no linguist, but he uses the german "kleiner spinnendroide" (small spider droid) instead of the proper name "Zwergspinnendroide" (dwarf spider droid). Maybe I'm reading too far into this, but its just something to keep in mind in the crab droid vs dwarf spider droid debate.
  20. I would like an adaptable helmet so that we could attach more things like Bly's binoculars, but we're probably not going to get much more than just Cody. I don't think that the chin piece or any of his other unique details apart from the visor are enough to warrant a new mould on their own, but if Cody is going to have a unique helmet, they might as well include those details
  21. I guess this summer is the season of Obi Wan, with 2 sets based off of the show, 1 Jedi Starfighter, and 1 Utapau AT-TE...
  22. I'm pretty sure they expected the Nebulon to win, so they had at least a prototype model done. This could be a new model, but its not exactly proof of anything imo.
  23. I finally finished my Invisible Hand MOC! With my models, I like to cram in as many moving parts and minifig interaction as possible, and this is no different. The hangar doors open on gears, there is a working elevator inside the ship, a spring loaded shooter for broadsides, the entire ship splits in half, and of course all of the hull panels can be moved out of the way to access the interior with all the major locations from ROTS. One of the "rules" I set for myself is that all of the hull panels should not need to be removed to access the interior, instead they all hinge smoothly out of the way. This model was a very fun technical challenge, and I am proud to share it with the EB community. Here you can see the whole model, and can clearly see that the proportions are squished quite a bit, and that was done to give me as much interior space as possible Here is the hangar door opened ....and closed. It is operated by the light gray gear sticking out on the top right The engines and their covers The bow of the ship Going inside the ship, we have the Chancellor's cell (with a working elevator to the hangar bay behind Dooku) The empty hangar bay Both Jedi Interceptors (which do fit minifigs) in the hangar bay The front section opened up with the bridge, hallway, and broadside cannon And finally the entire front section removed. It is entirely held on by those hooks, there aren't any stands for the entire front half There are a lot of moving parts on this ship, so if you want to see those in action or just see this model in more detail, check out the YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ao6oHJqjtn8&t=14s
  24. Based off of these past few months I would guess its fake, especially because its suspiciously close to April Fools
