I think with more than 2 of the 2x2 round bricks the stem looks somewhat unnatural.

I have enough of the new pieces to build two palm trees. That's two more than i can build with classic pieces. So i will happily use the new ones
-
Left palm tree is using all three of the aforementioned pieces. The right tree uses just the big piece and one 2x2 round brick at the bottom and three 1x1 round bricks at the top.

Yep, i'll do it later today!

Quite a mysterious case! Will Hallcroft Py and Patricia Sevenfish ever find love? What happened to the greybeards? Why the painting and where did the map go? What will they find in Pontelli? Looking forward to the next chapter -

Nice fountain with fine marble statues! Love the minifig posing! The trees are really impressive. -
A great moc this is! I love the path leading up to the gate. The gate really is the highlight. I also like the tower and house and the mature color palette. Well done all around

Some time ago we were talking about palm trees. Recently i got the 77015 Temple of the golden Idol set and it contains this piece which i found to be very useful: This piece is available in reddish brown since last year and it comes in only 3 sets so far. You can combine it with pieces like these two or regular 2x2 round bricks, etc. So you can create various curved palm trees. Only a straight tree is impossible. After using the new piece for a palm tree, i am quite happy with the result and to me it is the best looking palm tree we can have nowadays (without using the classic palm tree stem pieces).

Speaking about Belloq. I upgradedy him using the legs from the Steve Irwin minifig from the regular CMF that is on shelves right now. But only the legs, not the hips, since two belts would be too much -
From what i've heared, few years ago reddish brown pieces (especially tiles?) were prone to breaking. But since then Lego changed the formula and reddish brown got more robust. Don't know if this is the whole story though. I started bying sets in 2019 and so far i experienced no breaking. But i always fear it will happen In a german forum a guy was reporting that basically 90% of his minifigures are damaged. And it sounded like there were also some rather new ones. I don't know how they play with them and how often they rip out the arms, but when it comes to minifigs my fear is even bigger. Imagine your only copy of a minifigure breaking
