  1. Adventurers hit the shelves in 1998 when i was 15 and got into my very long and deep dark ages. If the theme would have released just a few years earlier i would have loved it like pirates and knights. The theme has grown on me ever since i learned about it and there is much more to learn. Just recently i found the german audio play on YT. Indiana Jones is the theme of the year for me and to me it is a licensed version of adventurers. Or is it the other way round?! Anyway, this contest was fun and we saw many fantastic creations. Thank for everyone for bringing adventurers to life with your magnificent mocs and stories And thanks to @Peppermint_M for hosting the contest
  2. I always imagine a corniche with some docks/jettys and behind that a row a prestigious/representative buildings as the start of an pirate or imperial coastal town. Maybe i draw my ideas to much of buildings like the ones that surround Plaza Vieja in Havana (There are even some buildings in the classic color sheme of white and yellow!) or buildings from the city of Recife and others. But i don't know when these houses were built. But even the historic paintings of the aforementioned Plaza show some nice buildings of the same architecture that could be models for mocs. But i guess all of that is for an other topic (But i am thinking about it a lot haha).
  3. Wow, thanks a lot! One shall always place a in mocs!
  4. I am dreaming of a pirate town myself. We see many modern towns and layouts, much thanks to the modular buildings and concept. It is much easier to get started and the layout is kind of predefined and roads connect everything. Still, people come up with unique and original ideas and mix sets and mocs or have mocs only. Just recently i found someone who builds a italian town with lots of mediterranean flair. But hardly anyone is working on such a city layout in an century other than the 20th century. I'd like to see and explore a modular pirate town or western town or medieval town or (adventurers) town in an early 1920s/30s setting. Maybe in some years i feel i have enough bricks to start such a pirate city myself Can't wait to see the results of your experiments! Btw do you plan to build your Lagoon Lock-Up with real bricks?
  5. Yeah, the guy on the phone said i can keep the 10 extra parts It would to expensive for them to get them back anyway because they send them to me voluntarily and a international return package would cost them much more.
  6. Why is it so important for you who wins and if you are on the winning side? I'd think most people just want to see a good contest with fun entries, no? Same with sports. Maybe that's just me, but i don't care who wins an NFL game i watch, i just want to see a good game. I don't care who wins the board game when i play with family or friends. It is completely unimportant who wins. Just have fun! Maybe i am just a good sportsman haha
  7. I didn't know that it is an exlusive. I just checked availability at brickset and there it says: retail. So the set will not show up in other stores like Smyths later? Like it is exlusive in the first 3 months only?
  8. It's beautiful! Guess i will wait a couple of weeks/months and see if i can find a good deal
  9. Haha yeah, i was aboard the hype train for the Ghost and my hype got bigger as the Ahsoka show continues and i really love the minifigs but the more i think about the price, the less i can justify to myself buying it. Hope Hera will show up in a cheaper set.
  10. The good old days i guess At that time i was deep in my dark ages which i only left at the end of 2018/beginning of 2019.
  11. Nice little island and raft! I like that rugged jetty. The pirate on the raft looks great It is also nice to see that wooden leg in real life. I was unsure if i should order the grey version or wait for the brown one, which is currently not on PAB online (hope it comes back soon).
  12. Certainly there was a hugh spark in activity in the pirates forum and 2 or 3 thousand or so comments were written (or something like that) but we will see if the growth is substantial and people will generally comment more on general Lego pirat topics, regular mocs or the pirate RPG mocs. I'd like to see some people join the RPG. Anyone? ...
  13. So i contacted Lego and they will send me the missing torsos. Actually i feel bad about the fact that another letter has to be transported from country to country. I told the person from customer service about my observations with my orders and he said that humans were working in the warehouse and count the orders, so errors are only natural. I know that but come to think that this job is more stressful than it has to be...
  14. In my latest PAB online order which i received Saturday the only two minifig torsos i ordered were missing. But i got 10 additional small parts of various kind. Like 1x1 plates and tiles or 5 plant leaves of 3 different colors. I did not count every order i received in the last 2 years but when i counted there was always something wrong. So when i counted there were always missing or additional pieces but i felt like it evens out and never contacted customer service. Once i even got blue technic pins which i never ordered Only two though. Now i have to contact customer service over the two torsos. Does you guys have missing or additional pieces in your orders too?
  15. Btw, how often are there pirate contests in this forum?
  16. Yep, i support that
  17. Interesting to see that Islanders sets doing well in the voting so far! Hope Lego takes notes
  18. My initial question was if there's really people who think these "gifts" are free. I got the answer. Also in other places (newsblog) when i read someone is happy about a gift from the Lego company.
  19. Great pictures! Love that Jack torso! He looks determined to hunt down the shark with bare hands Or is he going for a leisurely swim?
  20. The train rides looked fantastic! Especially the one from the front of the train looking back
  21. No. I don't want to believe this badmouthing of Ms. Sevenfish. This can not be true!
  22. Would it look like the Dreamzzz ship?
  23. Best method is to create a excel table where you list both, every entry and every voter as x/y. Then add the votes into the table. Should be rock solid
  24. Thank you! Hehe yes, a bonfire, or maybe a barbecue when i need to cook some food in the Blizzard Thanks a lot I am very happy that i kept the monkey. One of the very few parts of my childhood Lego i still have today. I also have 1.5 of the classic sharks
