[COR - Sloops for the Navy] HMS Peregrine
Justsomebrix replied to Justsomebrix's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you very much NOD Thank you! Can't have anyone come close enough to board her! They wouldn't work in their current form, but if I reinforce the connection between the mast and sails I think they might work with real bricks- 14 replies

After months of work, the Royal Navy’s newest ship set sail from Quinnsville ! The Cutter was commissioned by the Admiralty Board in order to increase patrols around Corrington shores. Frederick Chapman had worked for several private investors in the past, even some of high standing, but never had he been contacted by agents of the Crown. The day he received the commission was the happiest day of his life, the honor to have been entrusted with the task of creating a ship for the Royal Navy, was beyond measurable. He swore he would not disappoint them, in fact, he convinced himself that he would create the fastest ship the Royal Navy had ever seen ! He spent weeks in his office making dusins of drafts and sketches. He combined ship designs he had learned from both Oleon and Elsandolan designers, even a few interesting elements he had observed on a Sea Rat ship. He wished he knew more about their ships, but Sea Rats are after all not the most common visitors of Corrington… For good reasons. Once his design was done, he was ordered to Queensville where he would oversee her construction. People from around all of Quinsville gathered at the docks to celebrate her launch. The ship was so light and sleek that when the crew opened her sails, she was immediately picked up by the wind and flew right through the waves. The crowd simultaneously reacted in aw, while Frederick, overcome by joy, jumped around and celebrated right there on the docks. The representative who had taken the ship on her maiden voyage, later admitted that she was so fast he feared they would take off and join the birds in the sky. He decided then and there to christen her HMS Peregrine, the fastest ship on the Brick Seas. ------- A new class 4 Cutter for the Navy. She is armed with 12 4-pounders and 6 swivel guns. My recommendations for her stats are : R M G C $ H 3 6 4 2 0 3 The ship being the fastest in brick seas is obviously just for story purposes and can't affect any game outcome, so don't take it too seriously

Frederick Chapman was born to a family of farmers on the outskirts of Belson. For as long as he can remember, his dream was to become an explorer. He would play as a pirate pretending to discover hidden treasures in the wheat fields. Sometimes he was a Corrie researcher discovering exotic new species (mostly ants and bugs alike), he would trap them in jars and later get Knighted for his discoveries. Every so often he was a skilled Oleon musketeer single handedly defending the city from savage invaders. But his favorite fantasy to play was the fearless Eslandolan Conquistador, rowing deep into a foggy uncharted mangrove, haunted by the spirits of an ancient population. But alas, Frederick was born with Asthma, allergies and a horrible eyesight, leaving him blind without his glasses. Suffice to say, the life of exploration was not meant for men like Frederick. Due to his disadvantages, Frederick was rejected from the naval academy and the army. He was heartbroken, but didn’t give up, eventually he managed to get recruited as a cabin boy on an East Terraman, but after a horrible asthma attack at sea, he was dropped off at the nearest friendly port. Having no other choice, he accepted his fate and prepared himself for an uneventful life in Belson. He applied for a job at the Dee Shipyards as it was the closest he could get to leaving the country, without leaving the country. He very quickly fell in love with the building process, but most of all it was the beautiful designs of the ships that caught his interest. He managed to become an apprentice to one of the architects working for the Dee family. It became his passion, he studied every ship plan he could get ahold of and bought naval architecture books from other cultures. Before long he became a professional naval architect himself. But as the years passed he noticed his allergies and asthma had become less recurrent, until eventually he hardly got affected by them. With permission from his doctor, he packed his belongings and bought passage to Jameston, where he would seek adventure and discovery, all the while continue his craft. ----- I originally just wanted to licence an artisan property, but I got a bit carried away with the story. To be licenced as a small artisan in Jameston

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Justsomebrix replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Hello, I have two questions that I can't seem to find answers for : What do I license a ship designers office as ? (I was planning on having his office and residence being the same building) My other question is whether or not there is a wood type that is canonically "better"/ stronger ? ( Purely for lore/story purposes, I realize the ship stats can't be affected by the materials used) -

Thank you all! -
Damn you for bringing ads to the brick seas! Jokes aside, the store looks amazing. The details on both the buildings and furniture are great. I love that you took the time ro add the blue/yellow building to the right of the store as it makes it look like the store is in the city center. The 2 hat stands are probably my favorite builds of the moc

While the troops are awaiting new orders in Spudkirk, the line infantry keeps their minds fresh with daily shooting practice and combat formations. ------ I made a little display for a few of my troops and thought it could work for GoC task 1. It could also work as a troop raising post so make sure to lett me know if we need any more.

One of the most popular options is to find (or make) designs you like and then print them onto your figs however you want (You can print stickers, decals or get them custom printed on torsos). I would recommend printing decals/stickers as it's dirt cheap so you can easily build an army. If you are planning on having the base torso white (like the classic lego red/blue coats) I would suggest that you make waterslide decals rather than stickers as it looks very similar to a custom printed torso. If you want to see how good water slide decals can look you should check out https://avfigures.com/, he makes star wars clone trooper decals. The only downside to water slide decals is that they only work on white torso's sadly. Another great option if you have a bigger budget, is to buy custom figures, some good sellers who makes Napoleonic era figures are https://brickguild.ca/ , https://www.unitedbricks.com/ and https://ktownbricks.com/ . I personnally do not recommend you getting your designs custom printed as people charge insane amounts of money for that service. Hope this helps, the eurobricks thread I linked is where most people here get there sticker designs, there are plenty of great designs. If you find some you like that aren't green you can edit the colours via photoshop. If you do not have access to photoshop, I am sure someone can help you
