[COR-FB] Captain Scarver at Port Woodhouse
Justsomebrix replied to Justsomebrix's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I try to have a realistic feel to my builds so glad to hear so! Thanks! I will for sure keep using them on future builds I've been trying to find a flesh head for Dirk myself as I've recreated some yellow sigfigs in flesh for potential future mocs. Closest thing I found is Bard Bue's head from the hobbit, but even that one dosen't give off the same vibe as Dirk's face. As for the use of torso's, if I end up in charge of a new settlement one day I'll most definetly put them to use ! Your palm trees are great and I would've recreated them if not for a lack of pieces, I sadly admit my one palm tree used all my palm leaves. I'll order enough pieces to make a couple of your palms in the near future- 15 replies

Here's my last update before I order the pieces, very happy with how it turned out. There are still some small changes that will be made (especially with the back) but I'll do it when I have the pieces as I find it way easier -

Thank you! You didn't miss a single colour although I just noticed you can't really see it from the angle, but the 4 reddish brown stick out of the building by half a stud. I'm not gonna lie I do love the fleshies haha you'll be sure to see even more skin variations on my future mocs. As for the officer torso's, funnily enough they're the red coats I have the most of. Thank you very much, I love black flag (and Black sails for that matter) so they'll be plenty more in the future! @Brickwolf Glad to be here @Kai NRGthank you- 15 replies

[COR-FB] Captain Scarver at Port Woodhouse
Justsomebrix posted a topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Overseeing transaction of goods --- As a privateer, in times of peace, Captain Scarver spends most of his time hunting sea rats. After his latest hunt around the southern coast of Celestia, Captain Scarver returned to Port Woodhouse with the captured pirate ships and their stolen goods. After most voyages Scarver donates the stolen cargo and ships to the local militias of Corrington settlements, except for certain goods that may prove useful to his endeavours. However on this voyage they fell upon a state of the art Oleon Cutter, flying the black. It is rare to see pirates sailing Royal Navy ships, so Edward and his crew were careful not to sink her. The battle was long and hard as both opponents fought like hell, but eventually Scarver and his crew managed to capture her. Upon returning to Port Woodhouse, Scarver and his crew voted to keep the ship and add her to the fleet. Thus, he handed her to his Quartermaster who is to see her be repaired and riffited with 4 additional guns. In the meanwhile, as per usual, Scarver went to oversee their donation to the garrison in Port Woodhouse. --- I made this little scene while waiting for parts to arrive for my Cutter ship. I wanted to try out @Ayrlego's architecture for Port Woodhouse, while I also thought it could be a good idea to make a little teaser for the ship. The scene is supposed to take place in the courtyard of a fortified warehouse (kind of like something you would see in the game Assassin's Creed Black Flag).- 15 replies

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Justsomebrix replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Hey guys! Quick question, I've seen characters using this uniform on ceveral occasions, including on a Governor (can't remember his name sorry) I was wondering what their role is? When they're to be used? (A little teaser for my first moc as well) -

@kuriganthank you very much! And I'll look into it. However one quick question, the tumblehome you're talking about is the use of hinge bricks right? If yes, there's nothing to worry about as I won't be able to use them in the front anyway because of the shape (there won't be space to lean them inwards) -

So here is my current progress on my Cutter I ended up using stud.io because of my lack of pieces (I hope to buy the pieces once it's completed). I copied the french Cutter le Cerf as my main reference as I really liked her looks and there are a ton of pictures online. I would like some advice on how I could make a rounder shape on the lower white part of the hull but most importantly how I could make the rear part of the hull /the back -

@Thomas Waagenaar I really love this, there is no misunderstanding what she is (which would be a badass frigate bred for war ) The colours are great too Good luck with the rigging -

@Bregir Thank you! will definetly strengthen the structure once I settle down on the final shape. @kurigan You're totally right man, I should've specified what I was trying to accomplish. As for references I definetly have a few (not for my first/old attempt). So it was always my intention to build a one mast sloop. I hadn't yet managed to decide on a clear goal for the ship, but since I posted the las WIP I've decided to replicate an open deck sloop using the image bellow as my main referance (I will of course be making some personel changes along the way) So as you can see I've removed the cabin and widend the rear. As stated earlier I completely removed the lower hull as I didn't like the look of it and it didn't seem necessary to keep it. I also think I have found the overall shape I'll use (I'd specifically like some feedback on that if you have any). The ship is still in the very early stages, as until now I've mainly been trying out different things. So I'm not excpecting many tips, but I still wanted to show what I'm working on. -

Thank you! The plan was to replace all the red with dark green not just the front haha, just missing the pieces. I'm most likely going to replace the tan gunports with black ones as well, but that'l be the last thing I do so that I can properly compare the look. I also removed the lowest part of the hull as I felt the ship stood too high above the water -

(sorry for the picture quality in advance) I started on this sloop a little over a year ago now and was planning on finishing it as my first ship moc, but after watching it on my shelf for so long I started to dislike it so today I decided to do a complete redesign. Old sloop WIP : New sloop WIP : (inspired by Jens Fishers sloop Revenant) After testing out colours I decided that I'll switch the dark red with dark green (gonna have to order some parts) I know it's still in the very early stages but if you have any feedback I'll gladly read them -

Yes I'm planning on it, but I just left on vacation so I won't be able to build anything these next 2 weeks. I was wondering how travel works in the game? I'm a bit confused on the importance of the place you start your story -
