Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Justsomebrix replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
If you look closely you'll see I made the lower ones larger then the two upper decks. However as I wanted to have them all brickbuilt I understand it can be hard to notice. I can definetly make a third even smaller canon for the upper deck though -

Thank you I will take a look! But I didn't quite understand your criticism regarding the cannons, could you explain ? I don't mind changing them. (Ps : just a small correction, the cannons on the upper and middle deck are the same) -

Hey guys, thought I'd share my progress on my current WIP This past week I've been working on this ship of the line inspired mainly by Hms Vanguard and Hms Leopard. I still have to figure out how I'll make the front and back, but as for now the main section of the ship is pretty much finished (minus the masts). I was wondering if anyone could help me find good references for what equipment the ship would have inside ( I imagine there would be a furnace/kitchen, smaller cabins, armory, etc) and where that would have been placed on the ship. All and any feedback is very much welcome -
The Return of the King! I really like the monastery and the story was very fitting as well

Welcome, great intro! -
You're such an inspiration when it comes to ship building, I'm currently working on my first two decker, some of these ships have really helped a lot. Even though I try to find my own style of course. Looking forward to the ships you'll bring us in the future

Thank you, would of course be preferable to have ceveral of them defending the harbour, as NOD said they're quit ineffective alone, but I'm not sure what the procedure is. (Do I write it in on the post ? Do the leaders just licence ceveral? Do you as mayor decide?) Indeed hahah, going to try and get some more of them in the harbour before long Thanks!

After a few weeks in the designing room, Spudkirk's first Gun Sloop was ready for construction. With materials provided by the town’s very own wood logging camp, the boat was built and ready for action in just over a week. She is armed with a menacing 24 pounder cannon manned by two men capable of breaching any Lotii Junk. Furthermore she holds a total of 10 rowers, but where the boat distinguishes herself is the addition of a Lateen sail which massively increases both its speed and maneuverability (which is currently missing as I just realised I forgot to make the sail… but you get the idea). Upon completion, two experienced sailors of the Royal Navy took her out to sea to make sure she was up for the task, she was indeed. One of the goals with this Gun Sloop was to use exclusively materials coming directly from Spudkirk, that way if circumstances demands it, she could be replicated in a short time and in great numbers. Without further due, she is ready to be licenced by the Crown. --- I'm about 4 years too late to the Gunboat party, but after I scrapped an old ship wip I couldn't resist trying to make a gunboat with the pieces. (I might repost an updated version with a sail and maybe some rigging in the future)
