I like those topics, but can we (as in the OP or mods) include photos with each set description?

I didn’t vote as I had a lot going on in my private life during the duration of the contest, so wasn’t around much here. That being said I did log in a few times, and the entries didn’t excite me as much as the previous contest. Some felt forced, ie they looked like “normal” MOCs, but with a brown bearded character thrown in at the end to tick the Steve box. suggestion for the future- maybe we could have a dedicated sub forum for the contest only, where all the rules, entries etc could go so it’s easier to navigate the forum. Once the contest is finished the sub forum could be deleted and threads moved to MOC sub forum. Maybe that’s too much work, but I think it’d help a lot to have everything in one place. also the amount of explainer / rules threads for this contest was way to high imho, at some point I found it overwhelming to navigate the main Pirates forum page to find what I wanted

"Steve Origins: Meeting Redbeard" by Oky -
Ahh thanks for explanation folks. I cannot believe I missed out on voting, been a busy month for me.

Am I dumb? For some reason there’s like 20 threads about this contest right now, but I cannot find one that clearly lists all the winners. Help

I’m planning to get it tomorrow or Monday, I have 2800 points from Lego ready as discount, plus my bank is doing 10% cashback on Lego until Wednesday. I guess all the stars are aligned for this to pull the trigger. Now I just need to convince my lady that I need this 😅

[MOD/MOC] Aanchir's 6267 Lagoon Lock-Up Remake's expansion
zinnn replied to zinnn's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hi folks. So I finally had time to build this set, and boy what a beauty it is in person. Aanchir's original design was good, but with my half it feels complete. Enjoy the photos: -
Wonderful display, but your t-shirt steals the show for me lol haven't seen it before :)

I saw this build on Instagram the other day and fell in love with it straight away. Huge classics vibes but with a modern twist. Brilliant! -

Please share some photos of the stuff you’ve done already! -
I'm excited you're back for this competition, I loved your designs from the previous edition. That being said I'm not 100% sold here, I think it's the colour palette used, it looks too bright (maybe it's the contrast of the photo too?). But I'd suggest replacing the palm tree's leaves, instead of lime green use bright green. Same for the plant that's at the bottom of the tree. There may be a bit too much detail in the yellow wall, I'd prob simplify the design a tiny but, but overall it's a fun set. Not sure if the soldiers would leave the cannon behind though...?

The incredible original is here: I felt like it would be great to expand this set and make it slightly bigger and add more story / playability to it, so I've slightly re-designed Aanchir's original + added a whole section at the back. Hope you like it, the merchant stand at the back belongs to one fellow called Steve (it is manned by his eldest son Sam).

I assume it's this: https://www.lego.com/en-us/minifigure-factory

[OFFICIAL] Bricklink Designer Program - Series 5
zinnn replied to Yperio_Bricks's topic in LEGO Pirates
Can I just add - Coconut Cape is beautiful. Almost too pretty, but the more I look at it the more I like it. Also, I found this image hilarious in the Tortuga set, so simple yet gives me 100% silly Lego vibes: -
This review helped me to get rid of all my last doubts - I will definitely not be getting this set. The review video is way too long, and the reviewer keeps talking about useless stuff on and on, but some of his insights were spot on and something I didn't think of before (like the access to the inside of those caves).

It's from one of the Harry Potter sets, it was recommended in one of the threads on this forum before https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=hp165#T=S&O={"iconly":0}

[OFFICIAL] Bricklink Designer Program - Series 5
zinnn replied to Yperio_Bricks's topic in LEGO Pirates
Trading Post is probably my favourite here, it's small enough to be quite affordable for most folks, but looks interesting and packed. I also like Thieves of Tortuga set, but not the colours - they don't look very "Lego Pirates", more like a realistic MOC. Whenever those Bricklink sets pop up I always try to imagine how well they would tie with the rest of the Pirates sets. This one looks more like a stand-alone set. My main issue with the Bricklink programme, is the torsos - I'm so sick of seeing the same torsos over and over again. They should allow users more freedom with designs.
