[MOC] The Skull Island - Remake of 70411: Treasure Island
zinnn replied to zinnn's topic in Pirate MOCs
FYI - I had to put this project on hold (as well the Islanders one) but it's back on! I'm reworking the base of the Skull Island (mostly stuff "behind the scenes") to make it more secure, and more official Lego-like. The three bamboo leaves pieces that were around the palm trees were quite loose, their grip is not the best so I decided to get rid of them and instead add some rocks - that also helped to secure the palm trees better. More/new photos coming soon :) -
Have you all seen the new Deadpool vs Wolverine movie trailer? It looks so good, I'm genuinely hyped for this.

[OFFICIAL] Bricklink Designer Program - Series 4 - Finalists Announced
zinnn replied to Yperio_Bricks's topic in LEGO Pirates
Don't worry, I was just being picky - I already voted for your design :) I've also voted for Trading post by KingCreations and both ships by BrickPerfection The rest is a pass for me tbh. -
Found it the other day, for fans of drone, dark ambient, dungeon synth Download/buy https://omegadrakkoniis.bandcamp.com/album/spectral-starguiding FYI this is not my project, I found it the other day on a music forum and found it amusing, especially seeing the UFO mask on the front cover :D The album is surprisingly good, if you're into darker corners of the electronic music. I think it sort of fits the ominous vibe of the UFO sets as well as the first wave of Blacktron. PS> I feel like each song title could be a set name :)

Thank you! I must admit, seeing your studio file made me realise how INCREDIBLE your set is. For how small it is, it's packed with details. Amazing job!!!

Which Pirates sets have (or may have) problem with brittle brown bricks?
zinnn replied to zinnn's topic in LEGO Pirates
I bought a couple of small POTC sets on Ebay a couple of years ago, and a few pieces snapped while I was building them. I put them up for sale the next day and decided it's best to forget that theme existed ;) -

[OFFICIAL] Bricklink Designer Program - Series 4 - Finalists Announced

Most of those are a pass for me tbh. Imperial Sloop 'Neptune' is great but I dislike the brick built sails. It could go well with the Eldorado set though. The Trading Fort is my fav entry of them all overall. The Hug island looks COOL, but wouldn't work for me in a larger Pirates set-up. It looks more like a Lego City carnival attraction. -
No one's doing that, it's a non-issue that's probably raised only by online trolls and fragile rightwingers. Enjoy your Lego folks.

Hi folks, I don't have this set (yet), but I've created a fix for the Gov's office - its now closed and includes a ladder to the top floor. More photos: -

Bumping this thread - does anyone know when will the next 2x points event happen? Also, when ordering from Pick a Brick - do you also get double points?
-
@Aanchir just had a second look at your build, and it made me wonder - how did you build those tan chairs? what's the piece used for the legs? are they "just" sitting on top of the black plate or are they attached somehow? also you mentioned before that you may share the Studio file - is that still possible?

Definitely yellow

Hey folks, I'm looking for inspirations and ideas for minifig scale historic busts and/or sculptures (including animal statues) The one in Pirates of Barracuda Bay blew my mind, so I'd love to see some more designs (either yours or some that you found online). Also suggestions which hair pieces and "torso"-like pieces would work, besides the ones below... Ideally in white, tan or light bluish gray.

Those builds are not meant to be for ships ONLY. I'm thinking about gov's office, a pirate pub or a local port chapel...

In the old thread about the previous edition, there's a post where they announced the winners down at the bottom somewhere:

Have you ever come across some amazing small build ideas on Instagram, FB or even google search and think that's so cool, maybe I'll add it to my setup one day. And you never do :P Or would like to add something, but don't know where to search. Well I thought we can have a thread to share small builds you come across on the net, ideally with instructions if available (+ make sure you credit the author too). I'm open to see some photos without instructions too, just to appreciate some interesting techniques. Here are some bits I found that are really neat: Lego weapon rack by itnael Free instructions here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-160029/itnael/lego-weapon-rack/#details Cartography Table by marinbrickdesign (I do recommend following him on IG, as he has a lot of tutorials: https://www.instagram.com/marinbrickdesign) Free instructions: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-126676/marinbrickdesign/cartography-table-lego-pirates-moc/ IG user brickolaskotzi has a ton of great small builds for the office, one of my favs is his clock: Free instructions: https://www.instagram.com/p/CjSMliXK8eK/ Pirate furniture by Massenzio Free instructions: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-131006/Massenzio/pirate-furniture/

That's cool if you're into old Pirates style (not my cup of tea personally). But seeing this design it made me think it's some old church/chapel rather than a fortress, left behind by colonizers and run down by time and weather. I like the single door piece remaining.

This is cool, but tbh I actually prefer the Lego's remake, this Ideas set looks too clean and polished, almost like something made out of basic bricks like the original yellow castle

I had a look at their previous edition, I really love this Space Outpost:
