  1. Someone should contact Internet Archive team at https://archive.org/archive.org to help preserve it
  2. I've been wanting to create a small set for ages, and the idea of including the anchor as a focal point of the set has been on my mind ever since. I've just received all the pieces in the post, built it, and it looks amazing! :) Hope you like it too - I'll add it to Rebrickable soon!
  3. FYI, when talking about the sandy colours, I meant the whole forum look, not only the banner :)
  4. Can you reduce the saturation on the Quartermaster, and increase contrast on Steve? I'm happy to help out with the banner if needed! As for characters, I'd love to see King Kahuka, the updated Redbeard from POBB, and the Scallywag CMF. Also, the previous theme with the leading sand/tan colour was amazing, and gave the Pirates forums distinct "island" identity. I may sound harsh now but I wholeheartedly despise those blues we're using now (not your background, but the forum's banners and icons, it's like the ugliest blue one could find out there).
  5. Just saw your Reddit thread, the back tires look AWFUL, I'd be annoyed as well to be honest. Not sure about the bags used, I think Lego was using various bags at the time, I can be wrong, I was a kid so memory is hazy.
  6. Roboto has had its glory for a good while, basically since google fonts launched. It's overused, often because it's a default on many platforms. Personally I find it too condensed. Inter really flows nicely, is more inviting and open. Just like Lego :D PS. Lego Pirates subforum was using Inter for way over a year, until now, and it looked fantastic:
  7. Can I suggest changing the forum's default font? The current one looks a quite dated. I recommend Inter, it's clean, meant for screens, and looks beautiful: https://rsms.me/inter/
  8. Please, please, please bring back the Pirates theme! The current default forum theme is simply put not pretty, and feels like a step back in time to 2005. It looks outdated, and the banner at the top is poorly designed. Official Lego branding is so colorful and fun, and this forum looks like a place aimed at fans of auto-repairs. I understand that maintaining the site isn't anyone's full-time job and that not everyone is a designer, but I genuinely want this site to look as good as possible. I'm a graphic/web designer and illustrator. I'm happy to help if needed or even share some design links for inspiration to transform this dull blue theme into something more visually appealing.
  9. are they coming back? the default theme looks very dated
  10. When are the custom designs for each theme subforum coming back? I work as a designer - if you need any help with tweaking the colours / layout / icons / badges of the main forum, please reach out :) The current design looks very 2005
  11. 1. The show is not that popular worldwide, so the name means nothing to some people 2. The show has pirate themes, but they don't necessarily align with the style of Lego-style pirates 3. The minifigures for the sets will most likely use flesh-coloured tones, and I dare say most Lego Pirate fans (myself included) are not particularly excited about this
  12. Both colour variants of the bandana look interesting, looking forward to see them on a minifig! I've also seen a post that suggests this new leaf piece could be introduced, would be AMAZING:
  13. Has anyone seen some interesting MOCs using this sail element? I'm looking for something that doesn't look 4+, and more like POBB-adjacent? I'm considering ordering it from Bricklink, but I'm not sure if it will work well with my other sets and MOCs, and also if it's sturdy enough to stay in place with the only 2 holes in the middle...
  14. Looks good! Would love to see the insides of the ship at some point. This also made me wish Lego would produce more sails in different colours.
  15. In my recent renders I’ve noticed the lime colour to be really saturated and bright, any ideas if there’s a way to tone it down without using Photoshop for example?
  16. hey @_R_R_ your photos got deleted :( Could you re-upload them please?
  17. I've just found this article about habitat building for minifigs, and the author created a cute lil scene for our Quartermaster: https://bricknerd.com/home/minifigure-habitats-for-cmf-series-27-1-7-25
  18. Here you go: "Official" designer's render: https://www.flickr.com/photos/marcosbessa/7602484290 Photo I found on Lego Brickpedia: https://i.imgur.com/OsoSWcv.jpeg Link to instructions: https://www.mediafire.com/?82bgvj879n7aiia
  19. It's the old, discontinued element Hinge Plate 1 x 2 with 2 Fingers on End - Hollow Studs https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4276b#T=S&O={"iconly":0}
  20. Wow, love the backstory here, even though I'm not a fan of POTC line. Can a moderator update the first post of this thread please, with the photo of the final alt-built and maybe update the download link so it works? :)
  21. Any new exciting accounts popped up in 2024?
  22. What app are you using for scanning codes? And where do you read them?
  23. Bumping this up. would love too see an old, raggedy “drunk” pirate mini figure
  24. I'm sorry, but this just sounds like a massive waste of time. Each Lego set deserves a separate thread - for sharing reviews, opinions, photos etc. It works perfectly smooth in the Pirates sub as mentioned above. THIS thread is great for latest, forthcoming updates, but once there's an official announcement, there should be an official thread here too.
