  1. Anyone have experience running metal gears in their locomotives? It is something I have under consideration
  2. I got a few updates to share in the coming weeks , however I wanted to bring up a subject I’ve not seen! Everyone knows about circuit cubes but CaDa makes their own micro motors with almost the same foot print ( they have a little axle connector that sticks out about a stud ) so I’ve gone ahead and ordered two to attempt powering both driver sets on the project. I was wondering if anyone’s had experience with them as they fit a perfect solution where I want a small motor to run with the larger motor in the tender but off of a power functions connection.
  3. Its not quite there but this is my third or forth pass so far.
  4. Oh wow this is lovely! Bluebixx feels like they are the only company really doing train stuff funnily enough, quality bricks to!
  5. Oh now that is something I will have to try…
  6. Awesome work, love seeing folks designs slowly come to fruition in real life!
  7. This is still a major issue I run into sometimes especially with reddish brown ( the most cursed color ) wich is a shame as you know it’s a collie that’s in a lot of rolling stock… best thing I’d recommend doing is always buy a bit more then you need, some of them function just fine if you put a facing the other way but the crack will always be there.
  8. Oh it’s on the docket but maybe not quite 100!
  9. Agh I see that is rather unfortunate!
  10. ah good to know! just need to find out if R120 are made still, i get the feeling maybe they weren't selling as well...
  11. Well i was going to post asking what happened to all the R120 track but i see the thread had died a little? is Bricktracks still.... producing products?
  12. Well it’s been a while! Lots of stuff in love got all funky but I’ve recently done a minor external and major internal rebuild of the AC-9! I’ll be uploading more photos soon (maybe) but for now here’s her on display.
  13. Oh this is delightful! One idea is you could solder a wire or contacts in some way? So that when the tracks come down they make contact.
  14. Oh this helps out a lot! I was messing with flexi tube and didn’t look near as simple as this.
  15. Ahh I made this post when I was heavily sleep deprived, I more needed lego build references for the slanted supports
  16. I’ve been scouring for days on any Lego references for the B-50-15 style boxcars with the slanted supports on the side but can’t turn much up… I’m trying to keep most of the stock for my SP stuff around the 40’s-50’s but I can’t work out a design that works, much harder then then B-50-18’s so if anyone can point me in a good direction I’d appreciate it!!
  17. Wonderful work glenn, Always love seeing the accurate running gear in place.
  18. so far there isn't, but the tender has its own motor wich pushes into the locomotive itself.... so i have yet to see what will happen under load but have a few solutions if it comes to it!
  19. Oh thats a shame, there might be a long time before the smart motors with all the chip shortage issues, took me a bit to get my PFx brick cause of it! its a shame, a DCC system in lego would be wonderful, imagine PFx bricks becoming the lionel of lego trains hahaha!
  20. Thanks for your service! might just stick to the double straights then, its not to bad though as the real things are only about 40 cents more then the pretty good knock offs from amazon.
  21. haha thank you! turns out i uploaded a smaller video before! so now you can see it even bigger-er this time o/
  22. AC-9 test ( reupload) by R0P3-F15H, on Flickr Finally got a test loop and well she runs so well i was surprised, I did apparently forget some traction o rings but i also need some oil to put on the driving gear and axles as its super squeaky, i also feel ( though i muted the audio ) that the audio blends with the XL motor in the tender a bit well... speaking of switching the tenders L to an XL gave it torque needed which resolved some tests i ran where the tender was moving faster then the locomotive! overall im really happy it runs, i can't seem to get the IR to work at the moment but i need to dig around in the firmware probably. Edit: well the video insert isn't working so ill just leave it as a plain link i guess?
  23. Such a crazy connection for the brick built pattern!
