Jaboni built the 42009 and shortly afterwards Jurgens Ultimate 42009, I must say they don't come even close to your Liebherr. I love the pneumatics which give realistic mount points for the boom. My first question to TLG would be why has the 42009 only one driven axle?

[WIP] American Muscle

Looks like a Stingray Corvette. -
Nice MOD/MOC. I like the trailer. The only thing is that the front axle looks to bulky with the dual wheel setup. The trucks crane folding mechanism is great but it would be to high in real life. Most bridges have a clearance of 4 meters (12 ft).

I just did a whois.net search. The domain is registered to a woman with a PO Box in Sunnyvale, CA. It doesn't seem trustworthy.

The boom extension can be done by a M-motor. I had the chance to beta test the instructions last week. Being short of a second L-motor (I didn't want to dismantle my 9398), I used another spare M-Motor. Mounting and reinforcing it is a bit different, two gears need to be changed as well. There is plenty of torque for the extension process, in fact the white clutch gear kicks in when the load is to high.

Regarding the PF Parts, additionally to the parts of the 42009 and besides the parts listed in Jurgens 2nd post, you will need: another 8881 battery box, a short extension cord and 1 pair of LED lights. A second L-motor is not required, 1 sucessfully tested a M-motor for the boom extension. I don't know if Jurgen will included the "M-Motor for boom extension version" in his instructions as well. If not, however, i could provide a workaround picture on how to mount the M-motor once the instruction package has been published.

Track problem Zorex
TinkerBrick replied to legomania94's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think his problem is that the tracks are not moving at the same speed. So the excavator won't drive in a straight line. I found the same problem in the Ultimate 8043. I haven't figured out a solution yet, but I think it's caused by the fact that the drivetrain to one of the tracks is significantly longer than the other. Rebuilding it will be my next project for September. -
In case TLG makes a Kwik-E-Mart i'd like to see Snake robbing Apu.

Really cool! I love it! -
I widened the mud guards as well, but i used yellow liftarms to pick up the dominant colour of the cab and upper structure. Additionally i tried to give the rear of the carriage a more finished look. The rear guard is 19 studs wide (same as wider mud guards) and covers the outriggers as well. http://www.flickr.co...N04/9454107074/ The problem is that the super structure appears to be to narrow.

@ maxxens Having played with the crane a bit i think the problem is not the clutch of the mini-LAs. The outriggers double gear racks are not sturdy enough to carry the weight. They tend to bend a lot. I put 1 stud high "cushion plates" under them being extended to the max and the crane's wheels would barely leave the ground.

Apron Feeder
TinkerBrick replied to youngwing's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi Emre! Congrats for your unusual moc. You see these kind of feeders mostly in GBCs. I like it so far. I would suggest reducing the size of the motor housing. Have you thought about using a worm gear driving a 12 tooth gear for the belt? This could cut the size of the housing by half. Anyway, great idea for playing with an excavator and a dump truck.
