  1. Fernando Correia just posted his review on his TechnicBricks Blog.
  2. The bucket is a regular Lego part. You should be able to find it on BrickLink. It fits the better in terms of size, in fact I used it on my version of Jurgens Ultimate 8043.
  3. That would be Jurgen Krooshoop: http://www.jurgenstechniccorner.com
  4. Personally, i'd start with the 42008 just to get into Technic. Lots of useful parts for later. Continue with the helicopter. After building those two you should have a feeling for the building. Than you should go for the Unimog as it is likely to be discontinued after xmas. The parts of the 42008 and 9397 should enable you to make your own mods to the Unimog. As for the crane 42009, although having finished it last week, i haven't made my mind up yet.
  5. Nice piece of work. Clever design, nothing left to take away in order to simplify it more. Unfortunately it is to late for TLG to get this to shops in time for Christmas. This would have been a great set in the 20-25€ range.
  6. I finished building the crane last night. Works great so far. It lifted two unimog wheels/tires easily. But there is room for some improvement.
  7. I haven't had a chance to test it yet, since i'm not done building it. So far the boom is still missing. Perhaps i'll find the time later this evening. However when i grabed the string and activated the winch, the rear end of the crane kind of lifted itself up.
  8. I started building mine an hour ago. I had ordered it on Monday (S@H) and it has been delivered today.
  9. Update on my 42009 order: Lego S@H just send a Shipping notification with DHL Tracking number. It's on its way!
  10. I was able to grab a Lego Racers RC Buggy on eBay for less than 19€ + shipping. Although a few parts are missing, the motors and the remote are working perfectly. Also I got a 8466 for about 80€ and a 8455 for 55€.
  11. Tanks for Sharing your GBC with us. I like the accelerator. It seems as ist could handle a much longer distance/height. I also liked the way of of presentation: cool music and nicely edited footage.
  12. For myself, i must admit: way too much... I came out of my dark ages 2 years ago. Over the time i blew about 1800€ or so. Mostly on the flagships - 2 x 8258, 2x 8043, 2x 8110, 1 x 9398, .... I really have to slow down now - the 42009 is on the horizon... BTW, anybody going to visit the Nuremberg Toy Fair next week? There should be a fair chance to get a closer look on the 2/2013 sets.
  13. @ Lost_In_Noise Thanks for this great review. I read quite a few of those now and although i'm trying to get into studless building for about 2 years now (exit dark ages) my finger begin to itch to get those boxes out of my basement storage and rediscover my old sets. I'd really love to take them apart (8868, 8880, etc.) take them apart, rebuild them and set them up for display.
  14. I got this set the year it came out for christmas. As being only 8 years of age back than, it took me about a week to complete it. Great set, only topped by the 8880.
  15. Nice little MOC. However, to make it look more like a real biplane, I recommend reversing the wings, so the longer edge is up front. also the upper wing should be overlap the lower towards to front of the plane. Anyway, I like the color scheme.
  16. @ grum64 Your solution is not to bad after all. The battery box looks like an integrated tool box.
  17. @ dokludi Thanks for reposting the video. Great work on the trailer and this really complex lifting mechanism. I wonder if this would work with pneumatics as well?
  18. Update from Erfurt, Germany: I got my copy with today's mail. I ordered mine about 3 weeks ago directly at NoStarch. The Book looks beautiful and worthy, an excellent price for a fully colored print edition.
  19. @dokludi Would it be possible to repost the video without the music since it is not accessible in Germany due to music licensing issues?
  20. I remember a weight brick: 6x2, 2or3 Stuss high. It came with a police boat city set in the late eighties I guess. It was used for trimming. BrickLink number is 73090b.
  21. I cancelled my Amazon preorder (est. shipping date Dec. 5th.) and placed an order at NoStarch with the free eBook offer. Downloaded the eBook right away and now waiting anxiously for the print edition. Price after discounts with shipping round about 27€. I hope i'll find some time this weekend to read a bit...
  22. Holy macaroni - i mean wow. This is quite impressive in terms of its size.
