  1. On my side, I have been trying to add a gearbox on this model : I managed to have a working small 2-ratio in the middle of the chassis but since induces a 2-stud gap (input and output not on the same axle), I had to use the existing gear column behind de seats... thus losing the steering solution of the model. For now, I have not found any solution to have a HoG anywhere else (holes in the roof are not usable for this, I think). Has anyone else worked on a gearbox for this model yet?
  2. Really impressed — both by the model itself and its presentation. Now THIS is what I call Technic. Kudos!
  3. In my opinion, that could be done, but it is likely to need more time than that is available before BrickShelf: we would have to make enough people aware of the situation so that they can decide to help before the deadline. Crowdfunding operation can sometimes reach their goal in a few days or even hours, but it is not the most frequent situation...
  4. Not necessarily: I guess it should be possible to download BrickShelf user galleries just like aFrInaTi0n (has started doing it) and "translate" it into new user galleries in BrickSafe. I am not an expert, but I cannot se why it would not be possible with a little "coding magic" from a (very?) motivated coder. As for the online storage space it would require, this is another story... if BrickSafe is not allowing new accounts to be created, it is a bad sign indeed... Maybe we could try to establish contact with archive.org managers and tell them about what is going to happen to BrickShelf, and see if they can secure a "definitive" archive of the site before it goes down? Meanwhile, the first thing we could do by ourselves is to alllow users that are interested by keeping specific galleries (their own, or some that they love) in offline archives: this is what I am proposing to all of you right now, so don't be afraid! I have put online 3 of them, but I can also make ZIP archives that, when extracted, can be browsed either with Explorer/Finder or with any browser, just like the official site.
  5. Of course I can share if it is confirmed to work well. I have downloaded 3 galleries as a test : MisaQ, Nabii and Nico71 (I just love his works). They can be reached here : https://www.celeri.net/_public/brickshelf.com/ If someone wants some other galleries to be downloaded, let me know! Another idea, more global, to preserve BrickShelf's assets, would be to have BrickSafe import all the galleries within their own engine... I do not know if this could be done before the March 1st deadline, but who knows, maybe its creator has already thought that this situation could happen? Does someone here know BrickSafe's creator to ask him?
  6. This is sad news indeed. I was not a fan of this site's design, but the data within it is just priceless and should definitely be kept alive somewhere! I am currently testing a way to download whole galleries from the site and it seems to work, but I cannot be sure it will work for each of them... So if you want to help me test it and get full local backups of specific galleries, please send me their URL and I will (try to) get it for you — preferably a gallery that you know quite well, so that you can check that everything is downloaded in the backup!
  7. Very impressive MOC, and excellent presentation: congratulations!
  8. Great MOC! Excellent concept of gearbox with cluch mechanism, and a really good video to present it... And the model is very nice-looking, too. Kudos!
  9. Great build, both faithful to the real car and with very nice performance: I would really like to be able to build it someday! Kudos!
  10. And maybe we should also keep in mind that the marketing department plays a big part in the piece count, too
  11. So cute! The Unimog is definitely becoming an icon in the AFOL world...
  12. A very interesting project, and well documented, thanks for the share! Even if I did not build any MF set yet (I am not really fan of SW in general and have too much Lego already so I cannot afford to let myself dive into SW theme), I can nonetheless see how much thought you put in this MOC and the vision you had in mind, especially in the front part and its very SNOTted design. I am sure many SW fans will be interested in building it!
  13. Wow, I did not know of this car before, and you made me love it ;)
  14. Very nice and thorough document, I am sure many people will find it useful, and I think it should definitlely be promoted somehow on the front page of EB! Thanks a lot for the effort and for sharing its results!
