Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickMatit replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
LEGO could prove me wrong, of course, but Great Hall is a so iconic that LEGO producing it indicated in the past the beginning of something new (an era ago in 2001 when Harry Potter theme come for the first time and in 2010 when the theme returned after a 3 year stop; recently in 2018, with the new appearance of the theme, and in 2021 with the change of style and first soft reboot of the theme). Of course, this is not a rigid scheme, LEGO could do anyrything else, but the arriving of a new Great Hall on the shelves would probably indicate a new reboot. More concretely I won't expect a remake of the Great Hall while the actual Great Hall, in the Chamber of Secrets set, is still in production (and I've read that the end of life for this set is 2024). -

Who knows, maybe they're keeping them for the next sort of reboot with the Great Hall . Thanks @sebastian666 for the list. -

This would be such a great set, particularly with the unicorn, that I don't even dare hope for it. But I I wouldn't complain if lego wanted to surprise us with this set -

This would be a nice set, I believe: PS Hagrid's Hut with Hagrid, Harry, Ron and Hermione, Draco Malfoy, Fang and Norbert. A potential Hagrid's Hut remake with Fang could also be based on CoS: with Hagrid, Harry, Ron, Dumbledore, Fudge and Lucius Malfoy. Or an OoP set with Hagrid, Harry, Ron and Hermione, and Umbridge plus Fang. -

Rest in peace, Robbie! Hagrid will always be at Hogwarts to welcome any Harry Potter fan home. And talking about Hagrid and LEGO, new wave hasn't seen Hagrid minifigure yet (apart for the golden one, but I don't consider it a proper minifigure). In order to have Hagrid from LEGO someone that begun with the new wave has to buy the expensive 2020 Diagon Alley set. I think it's very likely that with an evergreen Harry Potter theme we will see Hagrid again (in a DH Forest set?) and, who knows, even a remake of his hut. -
Just out of comparison, 75978_Diagon Alley original price was 399,99€, while now is 449,99€. Considering the same increase rate, 12,5%, a 2023 499,99€ set should be more or less comparable with a pre-increase-prices 440 set.

Obviously not I mean, even if is it true that main scenes happens in the dungeons, my favourite option would be an add-on to the Diagon Alley set (Gringott paired with Leaky Cauldron and Borgin and Burkes, with scenes from the first and the sixth movie - Hagrid, Harry, Tom the Innkeeper, professor Quirrell, 2 or 3 goblins, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Narcissa, Draco, Greyback, 1 or 2 death eaters ). Dragon and vaults in a different and more affordable set. While I would buy two sets like these, I won't buy a 500$ or more collector Gringotts out of scale with respect Diagon Alley; if it would be the case I will complete Diagon Alley on my own. But, of course, that's just me . -

Oh, well, there would be also the set that anyone in this thread want to see . Thousands of smelly bricks and a big quote: Master has given Dobby a sock. Master has presented Dobby with clothes. Dobby is free. -
@ZeLuiz08 I find your custom Hogwarts really well done! This is really interesting, even if I'm not going to remove my Great Hall from the 2021 layout.

Even if I'm not interested in LEGO DOTS (nor in a few other type of sets) it's nice to see a theme I appreciate so vital. -

If this will be the case, and I think it's really likely considering price tag (the same of Hospital Wing and Sirius's Rescue sets), I would bet on Harry, Hermione, Malfoy and Zabini. -

Considering a lot of people is waiting for Gringotts and after Bessa's words, this would be a master troll set! -

For me, Gringott shoul be obviously wider and higher than a single Diagon Alley section, but with comparable dimensions and style, so that you can put it near Diagon Alley and say: "Hey, it looks like this is a single set". -

Totally agree. Criticism are legit, and anyone can consider any of them more or less valid and argue on them, politeness should be the minimum in a conversation. -

I'm sorry, but if this is the real reason... well, it's similar to the "too dark" statement against Deathly Hallows sets. Really, in a so expensive and iconic set you have to put two random Hogwarts students to populate the station with recognazible and iconic outfit and to don't ruin the balance? I will not buy this set cause I'm not interested in, but I would really want to know the person that prefers random Hogwarts minifigures to exclusive Ron and Hermione. -

When dreaming about Gringott, I wish it would be to scale with the rest of Diagon Alley. A set bigger and higher than a single Diagon Alley part, but with comparable dimensions and style. -

My two cent on Hogwarts Express set. [Short version] Not my cup of tea: easy pass for me and 500€ saved for future sets . [Long version] This set is truly impressive and I am sure it will look great on a shelf or in a display case. But that's not what I look for into LEGO! My philosophy, speaking of LEGO, is to buy sets, minifigures or pieces with which building and playing and staging improvised stories (even while I assemble a set, alternating with my brother, we invent stories with characters and pieces gradually coming out of the bags ). Of course, my sets, Harry Potter ones, are also on display (and I will continue to do so at least as long as I have space ), but the reason why I buy LEGO is never just that. For this reason, for example, I bought Diagon Alley, but I didn't buy the microfigure castle (although I bought the four founders) and I didn't buy last year's icon set. At this point, it should become clear why, even if I appreciate the set (but I'm not totally pleased by the yellow-red colour combination), I will not purchase it. This set, in fact, is for adult collectors, everything is favor of the scenic impact (a strong scenic impact), but for me playing component doesn't exist. Minifigure are simply ok (I was never too fond of the 19 years later scene ): I really like Train Conductor, Remus Lupin and Ron (3rd year); I appreciate Ron (1st year), Harry (adult), Ginny and Malfoy; all the rest, in my opinion, is nothing special (have I already said that I'm not too fond of the 19 years later scene? ).
