    Angel looks cute but agree that they could have done better. Not really a fan of all these buildables. Are they selling well?

    People generally don't. But you see it quite ubiquitous in a lot of European traditions - easter cakes/ breads, egghunt, etc. You could also argue that CNY is only celebrated in Asia and not so much in Europe but corresponding Lego sets have become mainstream.

    Wasn't there a rumored Dreamzzz set that was canceled? Supposedly, it will have some elements for making a Light Bright blue spaceman, and the description also mentioned a dark blue space suit, which may mean the missing helmet and air tanks for a dark blue spaceman. Anyway, I'm hoping that those pop up on some future set, Dreamzzz or otherwise.

    Oh yes, one from the CMF and one from the market set. But what I meant was to recolor it another time, like perhaps into reddish brown and perhaps add some black moonspots.

    Seeing that they did a dedicated Christmas/ Holidays CMF, I wonder if Lego might do an Easter-themed one some day? To make it less religious, and less geography-specific, they could make it "Spring theme." I do recognize that Series 23 only had 6 characters specific to the Autumn/ Winter holidays. I wonder what other special-theme CMF they could do in the future? They've already done Monsters/ Horror, Birthday celebration, then that Holidays one.

    In general, I was just wanting more SW animal figs - even remakes.

    In the past years, Lego has remade many Tatooine-based sets and even remaking the sail barge. They have so far not re-made the Rancor.

    Does Lego have to retool the moulds after just about a year or two of production of a particular animal type? How come we get these 'breaks' when some animals that they just introduced somewhat disappear from sets? They should recolor the goat, after all, it has been the GOAT for quite a while.

    I am not really a fan of the buildables as well. On the one hand, I keep thinking it would have also been an opportunity for Lego to offer a minifig, a la Star Wars UCS. They could have made a 'minifig' similar to Pluto from the Mickey and Friends line, or Simba from that anniversary set. On the other hand, since they don't include minifigs, then I can just save my money. LOL

    Looks good! I think someone posted a MOC on RB but it was a micro build, although in similar colors to yours.

    Or better anticipation of positive response and the restock response is much quicker and more robust?

    Not sure when this set will be on promo - probably not for several more months down the line. There is an Easter Sale ongoing but it only includes the Magic of Disney set.

    No, I think they might have just either been underage at the time of the photo, or their faces are protected health information. I would tolerate brick-built horses in this case if the part for the said horses are essential to a good alternate build, and since horses are still available on PAB. The foal is awkward with the Cupid wings. Well, some Zelda parts gotta show up somewhere else for Lego to recoup their mould investment. Hoping they make more minifigs out of the new torsos from this set.

    Well, yes! But it was the exact same minifig. Whereas from the Rat onwards, the two series had been mutually exclusive... Actually just realized it now that the dragon appeared in both the CMF and CNY series and with different designs.

    Yes!!! But also the minifig creations and possibilities!!! Come to think of it, the Frightening Knight/ Bear faction (CMF Series 15), and Tournament Knight/ Raven faction (CMF Series 20) both did not get follow up minifigs or PAB equivalents.

    Wow, we're getting four new factions??? Horse, and Snake with the Creator set; and Griffin, and Kraken with the gumboil Ideas set!

    Didn't they say before Rivendell came out that 'more' sets will come if it were successful... and it was! So perhaps their strategy keeps evolving. They only planned for Rivendell, but had the back-up plan of Barad-dur if the former sold well. Maybe The Shire was just the 'last' part of their original idea or back-up plan.

    As for animal costume minifigs, it just occurred to me that majority of those left in the Chinese zodiac have not been made into any animal costume. Perhaps Lego will not make them for the regular series and save these designs for the CNY sets??? ...horse, goat, monkey, (rooster - new design?), dog, and (pig - new design as well???)...

    4. Perplexed. My main question would be, "Why?" Did the sets not sell as well as Lego anticipated? Did the license run out? Did they run out of ideas? What would be the future of the theme?

    I wonder how these sellers get a hold of that many sets???

    Now I could not get over the fact that we could have had that bright light blue spaceman! Also it seemed that the Game island Tower included some navy blue space suit - so it could have contained the missing helmet and air tanks for a dark blue spaceman!!! Bummer!!!

    They have already so far made 7 animals, if you include that naked pig. LOL Not sure if they could redo the existing ones. Ditto! They seem to have realized that they ought to make sets for several different categories like display/ decorative items, and minifig sets. Perhaps we will get a modular on one of these years. I feel that Chinese restaurant last year was somewhat of a blockbuster!

    Perhaps Lego should recolor the wolf into white... to celebrate the 'de-extinction' of the Dire Wolf. LOL
