I really loved the fact that MK had characters from Chinese legends. I very much preferred it over Dreamzzz. I do wonder how much longer Ninjago will last?

I feel the earlier animal costumes were made to fit in other subthemes and it is only recently that they ‘matured’ to be their own theme. For example, someone pointed out the the gorilla and lizard costumes could be partly be references to King Kong and Godzilla, respectively. The bunny costume could be an Easter reference.

Perhaps just have separate sets... smaller mini fig-based vignettes, separate from a large microscale location-based set. You may have a point. Perhaps Lego and its designers are afraid of how their 'masterpiece' will be received.

It's literally the same animal each time, just recolored. They subbed a generic non-printed crab for Sebastian. Be careful what you wish for. They will include a red 2x2 round tile in the F1 set and say it was the roadkill. Red, magenta, dark red, pink and red.

I feel like it was way ahead of its time!

Did the animal design team get pulled to work on another project?

I'm big fan of animal costume figs as well as classic/ historical/ cultural figs. With the three dino costume figs, the fourth one has got to be a brachiosaurus!!! Or they could modify the old lizard costume fig to become a stegosaurus! I think a hijab-wearing fig makes sense if Lego decides to do a United Nations special! LOL I would like to see more national costumes!

Inspired by the release of the BATB castle, I re-watched the animated movie back-to-back with the live-action remake. - I can't help but think that that particular live-action remake should be how they should do remakes. It should NOT be a controversial social statement. LOL Hence, as I've said before, I'm glad they released the Snow White cottage ahead of that movie. I think there had been enough hype from several years of Ideas proposals that the set went on back order soon after release. - Going back to BATB, I wonder what other scenes in the animated movie could be made into a set? I would really love for some of the castle staff eventually represented in minifig form. And especially Belle in her village dress. - Villain Icons seems to have really been a set of Easter eggs! Evil Witch = Snow White cottage, Maleficent = the stillborn dragon set, Gaston = BATB castle. The only thing missing is an Aladdin set!!! Really hope they reconsider making that Maleficent dragon set! Aurora still does not have a prince!!!

It’s currently double points for purchasing Rivendell and Barad-dur at Lego.com. Are they purging their stocks this early?

Apart from that Cruella set that is *potentially* minifig-based, are we getting any other potential or confirmed minifig sets this year?

Hope that somebody takes note of this and makes MOCs!!! Because I know Lego probably won't follow through with any more sets of this...

Rivendell was such a blockbuster and is really a very tough act to follow. Barad-dur was great, but it mainly appeals only to serious fans. As much as the Shire is a smaller and more “cheerful“ set, I do think the appeal overall will not be as wide as Rivendell. So perhaps Lego is taking a “break“ and maybe they will not release anything next year? And then maybe release one in 2027? There’s obviously a lot of other locations and sceneries that they can do and should do. Maybe priorities now are just going to be a bit different. I do very much hope the line continues.

Web site front page has a link to shop the item. Then i takes you to the item page but it says it is not for sale until 4/5! If you click the GWP link at the top, it does take you to the correct GWP image though. Did their web site just crash?

It says on the Lego web site that it will be up for sales 04/02. In the past, I have noticed that some times, the item itself will go one sale, but the GWP might not pop up on the web site until a couple of minutes later, or even an hour in one case.

I feel like Lego is trying to appeal to kids this time. LOL Cheerful theme with lots of side builds. And can be made in this 'cheaper' price point, as many have asked for. I would rather prefer future LOTR sets be masterpieces as well.

Was just about to say the same thing!!! do these large brick built sets sell really that well? I would think that if mini figures were included, or it were an outright mini figure – based set, it would sell even better!

In the end, any publicity is still publicity. I think this is the whole point of LAN. Love that! I think it is just a matter of time before someone comes up with a MOC base to unify the sidebuilds. Penny-pinching measures... after all, the objective was to deliver a lower-priced set. I would think it would take two sets to make one MOC substantial!

I do agree. Although there are purple chilis out there and they do look a bit more magenta. Majority are just ornamentals and I'm sure they're edible but I have not tasted them.
