[H10 - Jedha - FF] A Bad Time on Jedha's Streets
Stuartn replied to RocketBoy's topic in Factions Archive
Amazing build, I really like the details of the spire and the walls of the house, the light blue at the base of the building is interesting and works really well. The figures are very nicely done as well- 8 replies

[K4 - Muunilist - CS] BAD Night Drop Munnilist
Stuartn replied to Jody Meyer's topic in Factions Archive
That looks great, I like the trooper designs and the shaping of the rockwalls and tree trunks is nicely done -
Thank you, I wanted to use height to be able to add as much detail in just 16x16 studs, and by having different levels I had the ability to give separation between figures and points of interest to add in many contrasting details.

That is a great build, the angle of the vulture droid is very dynamic and the flames work really well to represent blaster impacts

[K4-Muunilist-CS] The Muunilist Campaign Part 7
Stuartn replied to Stuartn's topic in Factions Archive
thank you, it takes inspiration from the Boulton Paul Defiant, a real life WWII interceptor that had a strange but effective configuration -
Thank you, I don't have many sand green bricks, so I wanted to emphasise the architectural shapes and designs to get the Muunilist style. Thank you, the different brick directions were quite fun to build, though very frustrating as they were quite fragile.

[K4-Muunilist-CS] The Muunilist Campaign Part 5
Stuartn replied to Stuartn's topic in Factions Archive
Thank you Thank you, I think that the throne in the room is less pronounced and somewhat smaller than I had originally wanted it to be, however I went for a smaller chair as I couldn't get the design right. Had it been larger it may have given the room more prominence. -
[K4-Muunilist-CS] The Muunilist Campaign Part 6
Stuartn replied to Stuartn's topic in Factions Archive
Thank you, I sort of wanted it to be a fusion of the glossiness of many Clone Wars style facilities and the ramshackle look of the rebel bases Thank you, this was probably my favourite project to build for factions so far as I can add different details here and there without necessitating changing the story too much. -
[M9 - Belnar - TT] Sometimes you have to do bad to do good
Stuartn replied to Darth Bjorn's topic in Factions Archive
Great build, the details on the floor of the platform are exceptional, as is teh technique to create the curvature of the hull. The water technique is also great and the lopsided crate in the water is brilliant attention to detail. The added height in the new MOC adds a lot to the build.- 3 replies

[REVIEW] 40516 - Everyone is Awesome
Stuartn replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It is also an 18+ set (don't know why, it doesn't look to hard to build and its message wouldn't really be necessary for adults who would assumedly already understand the issue and have their own views), it doesn't actually represent a 'toy' at all, nor was its purpose to be a toy, just like all of the other 18+ sets. My main issue with the set is that it looks so plain and a black or grey base would've made such a huge aesthetic difference, and a printed tile or something at the bottom would've actually been great. Displayed on a shelf without a base this set would probably look quite drab when placed on a shelf as a display piece and if it is an 18+ set such details matter. It is not a set I am going to buy but considering the importance of the message and the fact that it is going to cause controversy for whatever reason I think making the set perfect aesthetically is quite important. I do like the composition though, but I agree with other suggestions that had the segments been rearrangeable the set would've been much more useful. -
*Your entry has earned 18 XP* When the special forces squad from the 501st legion where tasked with infiltrating a Separatist facility on Muunilist, going in from the rooftop subtly seemed like a good idea, the team engineer was tasked with descending down a ladder to lay explosives to later detonate, while the rest of the squad provided cover. Unfortunately, security seems a bit tighter than first predicted.

*Your entry has earned 6 XP* The CorSec team now prepare to launch strikes against the insurgent forces on Muunilist, readying their new tandem-seat A-wing fighter-bombers. https://www.flickr.com/photos/191656503@N07/51195722955/in/dateposted/

*Your entry has earned 10 XP* Following the evacuation from Muunilist's capital, the CorSec team now works in tandem with the New Republic, in a hidden facility on Muunilist, to devise an operation to take back control of the planet. Nearby, injured CorSec members, including two familiar soldiers from a previous post and a familiar pilot medevac-ed from Taanab are receiving medical treatment. The CorSec team aim to launch a major aerial offensive to weaken the opposition.

*Your entry has earned 6 XP* Now with support from the Pentastar Alignment and their allies, the Muunilist insurgents have penertrated the capital's government buildings, where the CorSec strike team makes its final stand, however it is sadly a devastating defeat for the CorSec force. https://www.flickr.com/photos/191656503@N07/51169624693/in/dateposted/

Looks good, the colours of the rock represent Jedha well. The Y wing is excellent, it captures the damaged yet functional look very well

I am not fully sure as I don't have that set, but I know newer hulls are just snap locked and come apart easily. Some old pirate set hulls were screwed together but from what I have seen of the part you are referring to those hulls are not screwed. I would suggest getting a red brick from the set and submerging it in hydrogen peroxide first, to see if it does actually impact it and if it does to what extent. If it doesn't impact it too badly, you may be able to submerge the hull. You could use a solution like Maskol to cover the parts of the hull that are visible and will come into contact with hydrogen peroxide to protect it when it is being retrobrighted

Incredible work with all of the details, and the facade is magnificent

Could Lego "partially" melt if not used for a very long time?
Stuartn replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I live in rural Australia where temperatures during a heatwave a couple of years ago exceeded 47 degrees celsius and the air conditioner wasn't working all that well (that was pleasant), but the Lego, some of which was quite old survived (though some old baseplate pieces seem more warped now then when I used them years ago in a more temperate area). But I agree, a thermometer might be a good investment, and I am not sure how humidity would effect bricks? -
Incredible work as always, great work with the smoke effects, and I really like the floor of the carbon freezing chamber, looking forward to the next instalment
