  1. I've seen these games for quite a few years now, and I've decided to jump in. Let's see, I'll mix my wishlist with some guesses... 1. Napoleon Bonaparte 2. Teacher 3. Invisible Man 4. Robotics Engineer 5. Generic Superhero (or a parody of one) 6. Psychologist/therapist 7. Albert Einstein / Wacky Physics professor 8. Lego fan 9. New male swimmer 10. Someone in an Orca suit 11. Inca Warrior 12. Leonardo Da Vinci (with self-portrait in a 2x2 tile) 13. Robby the Robot / 50s classic sci fi robot 14. The Phantom of the Opera 15. A cast away 16. Band player with a tuba (we got the football player, the cheerleaders, this is what's missing!)
  2. Lego has now announced these on Facebook and Twitter. It says "coming soon".
  3. Can anyone take a picture of the Banana dude next to its soulmate, the Hot Dog Suit guy?
  4. Unfortunately the sources themselves are classified, but you can find a discussion of that here.
  5. Can't wait for someone to take a picture of all 16 CMF regular series minifigs. My OCD self is very satisfied that the figures can all be placed in a perfect square.
  6. Ahhh, that is true... Guess we might get purple bags around series 90 then.
  7. Oooof, thought I'd never find the pic, but I finally did. So happy to see that we're getting a Bane bigfig, although I do hope that the final version looks more like the figure in the trailer than the one used in the prelim pic. Not keen on the set minus the figures at all, but I am a sucker for cheap sets with great figures.
  8. What happened to the link to the thread? Anyways, really hope this means purple bags are finally coming, although I'd rather see it on series 17 than Batman. How did the source mention January?
  9. Thanks! This morning I noticed the figures on TRU's website, so I noticed they said the figures were available in all the TRUs in my area (including the one I previously visited ). I called a different TRU and they had them. I got there this afternoon, and they had just put the box out today. Apparently the box was untouched! My wife and I got everything we wanted. We also took 4 of the 5 banana guys in the box (going to give some away to some people we know that want them), and the other banana guy we gave to a TRU worker that really wanted one.
  10. Thanks for the input. What exactly does "run them through the scanner" mean? As in using the little machine they usually carry around?
  11. Went to my local TRU in MD. They weren't out. I then asked for the figs using the item number. The dude in the store went to the back and found a box but said he couldn't put it out because it had a sticker saying "Do not put out until September 1st". He wouldn't budge, even when I showed him the Brickset sightings and explained to him why the date was moved up, and how even Lego stores have it. He looked into the store messages trying to find if there was a communication from TRU to release the figs before but found none. He even contacted his supervisor, who apparently told him not to put it out yet... A very frustrating experience. Seems to be bad communication within TRU. Anyone with better luck finding these have any tips? I did call a TRU that told me that there were "none in the area", which seems not to be true after my experience.
  12. Someone might've said this already, but where exactly were these released? Is this a catalog of some sort, or is it a comic book?
  13. Thanks for the info! Just out of curiosity, what were those prototypes? Although I am not into spending hundreds of dollars into something that does not look better than the finished product, I do think it's nice to know what prototypes have been around.
  14. Here's another take. Ares from the animated series is Mars in Roman mythology. Gustav Holst's "Mars, the bringer of war" from "The planets" gave inspiration to John Williams' Imperial March from The Empire Strikes Back.
  15. Piece of cake. Disney :D
  16. Just wanted to add that in Back to the Future Marty says he is "Darth Vader". In Back to the Future, Doc is skeptic that "Ronald Reagan, the actor" is the president of the US in 1985.
  17. Not the best series in my opinion, but still a decent selection for what has become the standard of CMFs (which I would say is pretty high). It's getting harder to get impressed, I guess. Still, I hope to be adding each of these to my collection.
  18. Guys, could you please consider ceasing to express the fact that you're against themed series, those of you who are? Those concerns have been expressed before, and there's always the people who like themed series, and those who don't. None of us have control of Lego. That conversation gets a little repetitive. Just a suggestion.
  19. Actually, look again. The logo is read and surrounded by a square. Too bad we don't have a pic of the other side. If this is a legit prototype, it must be extremely hard to come by. Possibly unique.
  20. So over at minifigpriceguide I saw this picture of a prototype Cloud City Boba Fett. According to the website owner, it belongs to a collector in France. Now, I can imagine that if the regular Cloud City Boba Fett sells for hundreds of dollars, then this prototype would be insanely expensive, and must be even rarer. I was simply curious as to whether or not anyone here knows more info about this figure or has more pics. It is certainly interesting how it differs from the regular Cloud City Fett.
  21. Those designs are really impressive! They look official. Also, I liked your choice of purple. I really think you should put some of these in the wishlist thread. I'm sure Lego would like to draw inspiration from at least one of these. Great job! Really like the gymnast, robotics engineer, troll, galactic traveler, lifesaver guy, and giraffe suit guy. Would love to see some of these designs in a future CMF someday!
  22. "Monochromatic colors are all the colors (tints, tones, and shades) of a single hue."
