  1. I’ll just say that I don’t know why people would want Commander Cody to be locked behind a $350 set. I’m sure he’ll come eventually but why do it in a set that’s prohibitively expensive to a lot of people? If they had included him, people would be complaining just as much. If anything, I find the exclusion of clone pilots far more egregious.
  2. I’d imagine a new continuity, whatever one the Universal Lego Movies take place in. I think the smart approach would be to make one of the Ninjago characters a major or supporting role in an ensemble Lego film before spinning them off. That way the general public has more familiarity with Lego Ninjago by the time their next attempt at a blockbuster comes out. (I got that idea from a post I read a few years ago saying that they should have released TLM2 first, more prominently introduce Lloyd in that, and then come out with The Lego Ninjago Movie.) Plus we’re already seeing kids who grew up with the original Ninjago grow up and starting to develop nostalgia for the brand. Imagine where that nostalgia will be years from now when they have kids of their own who might take an interest. But that’s a whole other tangent. Universal, hire me.
  3. I mean an MCU series would do well next to all these new MCU sets coming out around the same time. They can include the Endgame versions of Ronin Hawkeye and Black Widow and then do versions of the other four core Avengers based off the other films. Throw in Spider-Man’s Homemade Suit and fill the rest of the series with the prominent characters/variants we’re still missing and we’re good to go. (I.e. some of the missing Endgame figures from the Final Battle along with some missing characters from the other movies like Ego or a more accurate Loki). I’m really hoping Lego gives Marvel a bigger series than some of the last few CMFs, so a bigger series improves the chances of getting some of these figures.
  4. Imagine if we got a set with Giant Man, the Leviathan, and Valkyrie’s pegasus with some of those last missing Endgame figures that @doclord mentioned. Probably not very likely I know, maybe if it were two separate sets. If the CMF is indeed solely based off the MCU, maybe we can hope that those figures will be thrown in there.
  5. I could definitely see them giving another Ninjago movie a try under Universal. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend them to lead with that, but if Universal finds success with their Lego franchise, why not give Ninjago another try? (Other than that fact that Warner Bros’ Ninjago movie wasn’t very well received critically or financially...) If the theme is still going strong in maybe another ten years, then we could see another go at it. Side note, but I think that it’s funny that everyone is talking about The Island, meanwhile I’m still at the start of Possession for my Ninjago rewatch. I have a loooot of catching up to do haha. Hopefully I make some progress on the show whenever I find time to build Ninjago City Gardens.
  6. These are interesting times. Another Marvel Legacy set? Jeez, my Lego Marvel collection is going to double if not triple after this year. I only started collecting within the last year and only have like eight or nine sets, most of which are smaller ones, and some miscellaneous figures. I guess I picked a good time to really dive into the theme! Like I said for the other sets, I’m excited to see how figures turn out.
  7. This sounds great! My dream is to one day have a line-up of each version of Batman with a minifigure-scale of their Batmobile, so the 60’s one would be a good one to go with my 2019 Batmobile and the one from The Lego Batman Movie. I just hope that the set comes with Robin in addition to Batman and Joker. It’s not a huge loss if it doesn’t though, as I don’t think the figures from the 60’s Batcave go for too much since the set didn’t perform super well.
  8. I’ve been binge watching all of the Batman movies recently (never seen any of them). I have to say that I’d really love it if Lego did “Legacy” sets for those older movies, similar to what Marvel is doing this summer. We’ve got the two ‘89 D2Cs, but I’d love it if they did nostalgic throwback sets at a lower price range, especially for more casual fans such as myself. I just watched Batman Begins tonight and thought that it was a very good movie. I can think of a few cool sets we could get from it as well as the Burton/Schumacher films.
  9. I picked up the new Tauntaun vs AT-AT Microfighters on a whim. They’ll look nice on my new desk.
  10. I miss going to conventions. I had gone to Brickworld Indy, Chicago, and Fort Wayne all in the same year before COVID came and wrecked everything. Going to these conventions again this year were one of the things I looked forward to most. ): Edit: Apparently Indy is just getting pushed to October rather than being cancelled outright. That’s some good news at least!
  11. Any bricks with the clips on the side. I’ve actually cut myself on them before. https://img.bricklink.com/ItemImage/PL/30237.png
  12. I mean it’s not really an “argument”. The ANH Vader helmet’s eyes just happen to look more red than they do in the other films. It’s an easy way to differentiate Vader’s appearance in each movie, especially since his look changes so little. Anyway, the Lego Vader helmet is too blurry for me to have a stance on, but the Scout Trooper actually looks pretty good. Not sure if I’ll get it, since I sorta have buyer’s remorse for getting the Stormtrooper one from last year.
  13. My unpopular opinion is the opposite. I think the hate for stud shooters is overblown. Stud shooters may be lame to collectors like us, but kids have fun playing with them and they don’t look that bad. If anything, I appreciate them giving more of a “Lego look” to minifigures or builds using them. Of course, being a stud myself, I’m not sure how I feel about the name though.
  14. Tile pieces feel smooth and are more likely to get stuck to my feet, rather than cause them any pain. Stepping on minifigure capes and cloth accessories doesn’t hurt too bad either haha.
  15. I mean Star Wars is also getting a great, fan-service wave this summer too so I don’t know what you mean by it “not looking so great this year”. If anything, the two lines are going to be neck and neck because they’re both really catering to fan desires and coming out with a lot of great stuff. That being said, I’m planning on buying as much of the Marvel and Star Wars summer waves as I can to show Lego that these are the kind of sets I want. The new Rocket figure looks great. I can’t wait to see more of the figures from these sets. While we’re talking about Marvel Legacy sets we want, I would love to get the London Bridge Battle from Far From Home. I guess that the rumored 4+ set will essentially be recreating that scene anyway. I also second wanting a Civil War Airport Battle remake.
  16. Wow, this sounds like an amazing wave for Lego Marvel! Talking about the sets from smallest to biggest: -I’m not expecting too much from the 4+ Captain America set. The Hydra goon will be nice to have, but I expect Cap to be a reuse from either his recent mech or the preferably new figure that comes with the Final Battle set. I’ll definitely get it though. -The Sanctuary II news is very... interesting. I’m not sure how they’ll be able to capture the set at a $30 size, but I look forward to seeing it. Interesting that it comes with what is presumably a new minifigure version of Thanos. It’ll be nice to get Mark 85 Iron Man in another set and I’m hoping the Captain Marvel minifig is based off of her look in Endgame. -The Dragon Flyer set sounds cool. I may end up getting two of it to create a really cool Endgame display. I look forward to seeing the new Black Panther and Shuri minifigures. -I’m a lot more interested in the Marvel Advent Calendar if the minifigures are MCU based like the rest of the wave. I’m hoping the “college” jacket Spider-Man is the yellow jacket he wore in Homecoming. If the figures are decent, then this will be the first year I pick up two Advent Calendars! -The Iron Monger battle sounds great. I’m excited to get a Mark 3 Iron Man minifigure and I’m interested to see how the rest of the set turns out. -Interested to see how the Infinity Gauntlet turns out. I can see myself picking it up if it turns out well. -The Endgame Final Battle sounds like an amazing set. Now I am a little disappointed because I must have misread the list I was looking at earlier, because I thought it was saying the build was going to be the giant Ant-Man, rather than just the van (which I also wanted anyway), and that we’d be getting a new Ant-Man minifigure, but it’s no biggie. I also wish we could have gotten another character in place of a Black Panther repeat, but the set is so amazing that I can’t be bothered by these minor qualms. Getting new versions of the big three in one set is amazing enough, but we’re also finally getting a bald Thanos bigfig!? And on top of that, we’re also getting a new Scarlet Witch figure!? Absolutely fantastic. -The Benatar also sounds amazing to me! I’ve been very close to buying the Infinity War version the last few months, but I’m glad I held off! This set sounds like a wide-release Marvel UCS set and I’m 110% down for that. The figure selection is pretty good, but I’m disappointed by the lack of Nebula and Drax, assuming that the last figure is indeed just a Chitauri grunt. I can understand not including Gamora, but not really the other two. Again though, this set sounds so amazing that it doesn’t bother me too much! I’ll probably end up Bricklinking past versions of any missing characters anyway. Anywho, there’s a small list of characters that I’d still like to see: -Black Widow -Ronin Hawkeye -Iron Patriot -Valkyrie (and her Pegasus if I’m really dreaming) -Nebula -Slightly different versions of the Bricktober Bucky and Wong minifigures. -Wasp -Ant-Man minifigure as well as a brick built Giant Man. -Another Hulk big fig. Still, I’m still very grateful for what we’re getting as it is! I fully take back all the pessimism I had when I assumed that these were just going to be more mediocre Square Enix based sets. I can’t wait to see pictures of them and I hope to see or hear details about the CMF series and any remaining sets here soon!
  17. There’s at least two Red Hood figures that I know of: one from 2016 and one from the first TLBM CMF series. Still, I too would like to see more stuff with the Robins and extended Bat Family. And while we’re talking about things we want from Lego DC, I as a casual fan want more stuff from the DCAU. There are so many great character designs there that would make for awesome Lego minifigures.
  18. Doesn’t sound particularly interesting to me personally, but I’ll reserve judgement until we see final pictures. It’ll probably be something I pass on, but kudos to the comic fans who have been craving a D2C.
  19. I still can’t decide whether or not I want to get the Corner Garage. It’s easily one of my least favorite Modular Buildings, but it’s still a Modular Building so it’s assuredly a quality set. Besides, I’d like to own most of, if not all of, the Modular Buildings someday so it would be wiser to get it now rather than pay reseller prices. Speaking of Assembly Square, I hope we eventually get a Modular Building with a similar footprint someday. I really love how it’s set up with the fountain in the center and would love to see Lego do an outdoor mall or something at a similar size. Maybe in 2027 for the Modular Buildings’ 20th anniversary?
  20. Now this is 18+ Lego. Seriously though, great job. I like the intricacy you put into this MOC.
  21. I’m cheating here, because I’m talking about themes rather than individual sets but here are my picks. The entire Lego Ninjago Movie line exceeded my expectations. Ninjago sets have always been really good in my opinion, but the Movie line took the theme to the next level. All of the mechs, vehicles, and playsets were stellar, and we got plenty of great minifigures from that line. None of the sets felt overpriced and I felt like I got a good value out of each of them. Some specific sets that stand out to me were the Fire Mech (I believe that was the first set we saw from the theme), the Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon, Ninjago City Chase, and my two favorite sets: the Destiny’s Bounty and Ninjago City. To this day, I still believe that TLNM theme is the greatest line of sets Lego has ever produced. Conversely, the following Lego Movie (The Second Part) somewhat disappointed me in retrospect. I enjoyed the movie itself, though that enjoyment has waned a little bit, but the sets have lost their luster for me. Outside of a few cool sets, Apocalypseburg, and the amazing Minifigures series, the rest of the line isn’t as appealing to me and doesn’t stand up to the previous Lego Movie lineups. Most of the sets don’t feel like they have as good of a value or offer as diverse of selections as the original Lego Movie or the Ninjago one.
  22. I guess this was technically yesterday since I’m posting this at 1:30 am, but whateves. I finally got my hands on Ninjago City Gardens and also bought the Overlord Dragon at the Lego Store today! I was able to get the Amelia Earhart promo and a leftover Lloyd Quad polybag for free.
  23. Man, this is a great Lego day for me! I just picked up Ninjago City Gardens at the Lego Store and we’re getting all this Marvel news!? Another FFH set is awesome, the Iron Monger set sounds great, the Black Panther set seems cool, and I’m dying to see what figures are in the Endgame Final Battle set. Kudos to the Lego Marvel team for turning things around!
  24. That’s exactly what I was thinking too lol. This is great news for Lego Marvel fans! More MCU sets is exactly what me and a lot of us have been wanting. I really appreciate that details of this wave are trickling out instead of coming out all at once. I’m really excited for the Star Wars summer wave, but all that info dropped and now there’s not much hype or speculation around it. The way the Marvel leaks have been coming really builds up the anticipation. However the Endgame set(s) turn out, I just hope we get builds for Giant Man and Luis’s van. The minifigures are definitely the main draw for us, but I’d appreciate more interesting builds for Lego Marvel.
  25. I watched both of the Michael Keaton Batman movies for the first time this week and I definitely wouldn’t be mad if the unknown D2C was the Batboat. It could come with a slightly updated Batman and new figures of Catwoman and Penguin. I know that this is an unpopular sentiment around here though.
