  1. I think that it has a decent likelihood of happening. May the 4th will be prime time to make Star Wars announcements, especially without Star Wars Celebration for the second year in a row. I could definitely see Lego revealing the Bad Batch set and putting it for pre-order, similar to what they did with the Razor Crest in 2020. And maybe, just maybe, we’ll get some gameplay, or at the very least just positive news, about The Skywalker Saga as well.
  2. I’m very excited to finally hear the roster of our first Marvel CMF series! I’m going to get my gripes out of the way. First off, I think everybody agrees that the inclusion of Captain Carter is a very bad one. She’s already coming in a relatively inexpensive set ($35) and wastes a slot in an already smaller minifig series. Second, the overabundance of Cap figures, while not necessarily a big problem for me, is another odd decision in my eyes. And lastly, the exclusion of some very desired characters is a bit of a bummer. I would have gladly traded Carter and Monica (since she has a good chance of appearing in a CM2 set) for Zemo and Agatha, as those were two of the figures I wanted the most. Still, while that all of that sounds very negative and like a lot nitpicking, I’m overall still very excited for this series. The figures we are getting all sound great, even though I’m disappointed about what will seemingly be a Captain Carter repeat, even if they may not have all been my top choices. While I think the abundance of Cap figures is a minor flaw here, I’m honestly cool with it since I currently only have one Captain America/Steve Rogers figure. By the end of this summer, I’ll have at least octupled that collection! (And hopefully one of them have leg printing that can work for Endgame Cap at least.) Spidey Cap in particular is a very pleasant surprise, as I did not think they would be able to include Spidey in this series since it’s Disney+ based. I’m excited that I’ll be getting my first versions of a lot of these iconic characters in here and in the Infinity Saga sets coming out this summer. Right now, Scarlet Witch is the figure I’m looking forward to most in the CMF. Her finale outfit is one of my favorite live-action superhero costumes ever. Hopefully she comes with a Darkhold accessory. I’m hyped for this series, now let’s bring on the sets!
  3. Not to be over-negative, but the lack of Zemo is quite disappointing for me. I think he’s been the standout character from the Marvel shows so far. (The memes surrounding him certainly help...) I have mixed feelings on What If? seemingly taking five slots here. It’s one of the D+ shows I’m looking forward to least (I’m still excited about it, just not as much as the others) and it’s already getting an entire set. On the other hand, though, we’ll be be getting a lot of cool and unique takes on different characters that are highly unlikely to show up elsewhere. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m still very excited for this series! Who knows: I could end up enjoying Loki and What If? more than Wandavision and FATWS and will be glad that there are more CMFs of those. And like a lot of others have pointed out, some of these characters are likely to appear elsewhere and with the birth of MCU “Legacy” sets, we could always get some of them down the line anyway.
  4. Hmmm, the IW Strange figure has been out of print for a couple years so I’m not sure if Lego would reuse that one. I suppose it also depends on if Strange has a new costume in this movie. I’m 50/50 on it tbh. Come to think of it, another reason why Strange is a likely inclusion is so that Lego can have most/all of the major MCU heroes available this year: between these sets, the Infinity Saga wave and CMF series.
  5. I have a gut feeling that we’ll have seen these new Marvel sets by this time next week. Hopefully my instincts are right! For these NWH sets, the only Multiverse figures I see being possible this year are Electro and Doctor Octopus since those are the ones that are the most “confirmed” to return. I predict black and red suit Spidey, Ned, MJ, and possibly Aunt May and Doctor Strange too.
  6. I’m actually surprised that that’s not what the Disney+ set for Marvel ended up being! That was honestly the only scene from Wandavision or FATWS that was plausible set material for me.
  7. Hey, it’s good to have a “nervous guy” around! I’ve filled that role myself many times. You helped spark an interesting discussion!
  8. Groot with Christmas lights sounds very plausible for next year with the Guardians Holiday Special coming out. I have a couple MCU sets on my wishlist that I will now ramble on about. Since the Endgame Hall of Armor is retiring soon, I’d love it if Lego replaced it with the Malibu Mansion one from 2013. It could be a remake of 76007 but without that helicopter taking up part of the piece count. I’m not too familiar with the different Iron Man suits, so I don’t know what specific ones they should include, but I’d love it if this set just filled in some of the gaps we’re missing. This would also be a good chance to get a proper Happy Hogan figure. The set could come with Tony, three Iron Man suits, Happy, and Aldrich Killian. Additionally, I’d love a remake of 76051 based off the fight scene in Civil War. The original set goes for a lot now, and I’m missing a lot of the characters included here. Basically, if they improved on the airport section and I say to either get rid of the Quinjet or replace it with a tanker similar to the one found in 76067. The Giant Man would be taken out and could be found in another set here on my wishlist. My ideal set would have eight figures so you can equally split them into two teams. On Tony’s team, you’d have Iron Man (obviously), War Machine, Black Widow and Spider-Man, and on Steve’s team, you’d have Captain America, Bucky, Falcon, and Scarlet Witch. From Endgame, I can think of three more sets that would give us the majority of the major figures we want. The first one being a Necrocraft with an Outrider, Ronin Hawkeye and an updated Black Widow. This set would be a reference to the alternate version of the Vormir scene where Thanos’s forces attack Clint and Natasha when they try to get the Soul Stone. The next set would be comprised of an improved version of Giant Man and some portal builds, similar to CM4Sci’s MOC. Additionally, Doctor Strange and Valkyrie would be included with her pegasus, which could be a normal horse piece with Buckbeak’s wings. Lastly would be a large Leviathan. The set would go very well with the aforementioned Giant Man set. The figures would include an accurate Endgame Hulk, new War Machine/Iron Patriot, Drax the Destroyer, and three Chitauri. All of these sets would make for another amazing MCU “Legacy” wave in my eyes!
  9. There is no way that’s true lol. We just had the Ninjago City Gardens, there’s no way Lego would come out with another Ninjago D2C so soon afterwards. If Lego ever does actually make a Borg Tower, I’m still not sure if I’d believe it with all the fake rumors we’ve had for it.
  10. I think a Star Wars Disney+ CMF series is plausible, but personally, I don’t think the concept works as well as it does for the Marvel series. There isn’t a lot of potential builds to adapt from the Marvel Disney+ shows that would make for interesting sets and every week the Marvel shows have been coming out, people have been scratching their heads at what could possibly be made. A CMF series was the best solution to adapt these relevant shows, and in my opinion, a very smart move to do it at a cheap blind bag price. (A lot of my friends that are Marvel fans but not huge Lego fans will likely enjoy these as much as me.) A D+ Star Wars CMF series would also do really well, but isn’t really necessary because Lego has a lot more options for sets they can make off these shows. There are simply a lot more “cool” vehicles and striking environments that can be adapted into sets compared to Marvel, so far anyway. That’s why the majority of this summer’s Star Wars sets make up what is practically a Disney+ wave, with most of the sets being based off The Mandalorian, TCW Season 7 and Bad Batch, and why Marvel is only getting one D+ set, the What If? mech. There’s also the problem that we’re due for Disney and Harry Potter Series 3 next year, assuming Lego keeps following the patterns for those respective themes. There wouldn’t be room for a Star Wars CMF, D+ or not. I’d love to be wrong though! Believe me, I’d love a Star Wars minifig series as much as the next guy. Random side note here, but I’m very curious to see how this Vader Meditation Chamber set pans out. I think most of the other sets are fairly predictable as to how they will be executed, but I’m wondering how the Meditation Chamber will look. Unless the price is wrong, which it very well could be, it’s supposedly $70? I just don’t know what they could do to make the build $70 size. Maybe they’re doing the whole room that the Chamber itself is in?
  11. That’s a nice looking MOC! It’s an immediately recognizable representation of the Legoland Hotel, and I always appreciate a good hotel MOC in general.
  12. I don’t think Lego necessarily needs to worry about the competition, as in other legitimate building toy brands like Mega Construx, because each brand has their own identity. They exist in their own little bubbles and do their own things that distinguish them from another. It’s not like you can go buy a Mega Bloks Star Wars or a Lego Halo set or anything, so they’re not exactly substitutes for one another. Lego just needs to continue focusing on doing their own thing, as they’re already on a whole different level than these other building brands. They are arguably the most iconic toy brand ever and are still very relevant in pop culture. Collecting Lego as an adult is becoming more and more mainstream, and you don’t see that with these other brands. While brands like Mega Construx may be improving in quality and uniqueness, you don’t see people going to the Mega Construx Store or Kreo-land or anything like that. I’m not saying Lego should rest on their laurels and start being lazy because of their brand recognition, but I don’t think worrying about one of these other brands draining sales away from them is or should be a big worry for them. But that’s just my two cents.
  13. Believe me, I’ve been tempted by some of those types of sets, but I generally prefer vehicles that are to scale (or as close as you can get) with Lego minifigures. That’s the reason why I also don’t collect most of the Star Wars UCS sets. These sets definitely look nice though! A lack of space is another reason why lol.
  14. If this rumor pans out, then it most likely will not include any figures since last year’s Ghostbusters set and the James Bond Aston Martin didn’t include any, which is unfortunate as I really want those variants of Marty and Doc as well. Personally, I usually only care about minifigure-scaled stuff so a giant Delorean doesn’t do much for me personally. Maybe if it looks really gorgeous I’ll consider it; I just think it’s funny that this new set will reportedly cost less than what I paid for the original Ideas set on eBay last year. Still, while I probably will skip on this set, I am very glad that Lego is doing more with Back to the Future. I hope that they do a couple more minifigure scaled playsets one day!
  15. I’m late to the discussion, as I usually am, but wanted to share my thoughts on the new sets! For starters, I’m a very casual Harry Potter fan and while I own a decent amount of the sets since the relaunch of the theme, I’m not a huge collector. I love the sets they’ve been putting out though, even if I do have trouble justifying buying them sometimes because I’m not as into Harry Potter as I am Superheroes or Star Wars for example. (I’v only seen the movies in fact!) This wave looks really good though, which is making me want to expand my collection more! As to my thoughts on the actual sets: -76386 Polyjuice Potion Mistake: I love this set! It’s such a great little vignette for a $20 set with three fantastic new figures, plus the Anniversary Harry. I do think it’s weird that Anniversary Harry is included in a set with regular Harry, but I guess it was somewhat inevitable since Harry Potter is obviously going to be included in just about every Harry Potter set. -76387 Fluffy Encounter: It’s an okay set. It’s a basic chunk of Hogwarts Castle with a decent representation of Fluffy, though the faces for the heads really was an odd decision. The interior is really lacking here unfortunately. And like with the previous set, I think it’s weird that they have an Anniversary figure next to a regular version of that same character in a set. It’s more understandable with Harry because he’s the eponymous protagonist and putting the Anniversary figure of him in the smallest set is a wise move. With Hermione though, I feel like they definitely could have shifted the distribution of Anniversary figs around so that she wasn’t in this one twice. It’s just weird that they avoided this for the Star Wars and Ninjago anniversary figures, but it happened twice for Harry Potter’s. -76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit: A very nice, cozy looking set. I’m not too familiar with the location though, so this one doesn’t excite me as much. The builds do look very nice though and the interiors really remind me of last year’s Diagon Alley. I’ll be sure to get it at some point! -76389 Chamber of Secrets: A good looking set and a nice throwback to the earlier Harry Potter sets. The interior’s nice, though a bit too shallow for my liking and I feel like these Anniversary Hogwarts segments are more “simplified” than the 2018-2020 ones. (Probably intensionally so.) I really like how the Chamber itself looks and the big snake looks amazing. Plus this set comes with a fantastic minifigure selection, which works in it’s favor! -76392 Wizard Chess: Meh, it’s not really a set for me. The figures are nice, but I’m not really looking for a Lego chessboard personally. Plus the pieces look ridiculously scaled next to the figures, which is another knock against the set. An easy pass personally. -76393 Harry Potter and Hermione Granher: The weirdest Lego set I’ve seen in a long time. The builds are technically good, though oddly inconsistent with their actual minifig counterparts, but I think the faces look strange. I don’t know why these sets exist, but I’m curious to see if this is just a one-off or if Lego will continue these? No interest for me personally. -76394 Fawkes, Dumbledore’s Phoenix: The build looks really good but isn’t one for me personally. -76395 First Flying Class: I adore this set! I appreciate how it can be attached to either of the modern Hogwarts castles and the figures are really nice here. Overall, I really like this wave, though not as much as last year’s. I’m split on the new Hogwarts style (love the new modular method though!) but I think that besides the sand green roofing, these sets work decently well with the previous ones from recent years. Depending on if I get the whole wave or not, I’ll probably display the interiors of these new sets like other users have suggested. Overall, I’m really impressed with the Lego Wizarding World yet again!
  16. The new Cap figure looks pretty good! It’ll only be my second Captain America figure, the first being from Infinity War, so it’ll be nice to have a fully suited Cap figure in my collection. I might replace his legs with the dual molded police officer legs from TLBM though. And even though I’m not familiar with the Punisher character, that new figure looks great as well! Man, set images feel so close. It feels like we could be seeing leaks or a reveal any day now.
  17. This is a bit of an odd one: there are too many colons in Lego set names these days. Names like: 75958 Beauxbaton’s Carriage: Arrival at Hogwarts 75947 Hagrid’s Hut: Buckbeak’s Rescue 76180 Batman vs the Joker: Batmobile Pursuit It’s very prevalent in Harry Potter but I’ve seen it in other themes too. They don’t roll off the tongue and are usually absurdly long.
  18. First off, stellar review! I love the humorous crossovers you injected into it. Second, I really like this series and I’m someone who was never really a Looney Tunes fan. I am still unsure if I’ll try to get a complete series (if I do, it’ll be the first time I will have completed all three CMF series in one year). I’ll certainly try to get the more iconic characters though! I love how many colorful licensed figures Lego has been doing recently with this series, the Disney line, and the Sesame Street set.
  19. We got the Summer 2020 sets revealed late April last year, so we could possibly be seeing official images within the next few weeks. No guarantees though. While we’re talking about what we want to see from Ninjago, I’d love to see a full season similar to Day of the Departed where we have older villains return to exact their vengeance on the Ninja. We have Garmadon, Pythor and the Time Twins still on the loose, plus the potential for Nadakhan to appear “again” as well as any loose threads from the newer seasons that I’m not caught up on. I’d also love a season to utilize an unused concept from The Lego Ninjago Movie where the ninja go back in time to see Garmadon and Wu in their prime. The ninja interacting with young Wu was one of my favorite aspects of Hunted; it was a very interesting dynamic. We could see something similar here. That could be a chance to get a more traditional Ninjago wave.
  20. I ordered two of The Mandalorian keychain, which is on backorder, and didn’t get double VIP Points for them.
  21. “Damn, I’m late for school!” *Power of Love intensifies.* This is a great MOC and a great representation of Doc’s garage!
  22. I’ve been delving into the DCEU recently. I’d previously only seen Justice League (2017), which was obviously not great and a large part of the reason why I waited until recently to try other DC content. I’m not too impressed so far honestly. Man of Steel was mediocre, BvS was a mixed bag, and Suicide Squad was really bad. What I want is for a live-action DC series that follows a similar approach to the MCU or even the DCAU where it takes time to build up the characters. More than anything, I want to see a live-action Bat Family develop. I want to see a good live-action Dick Grayson grow from Robin to Nightwing for example. I’m hoping Matt Reeves’ The Batman will be a launching point.
  23. I really enjoyed building the set, so I definitely wouldn’t be disappointed with more follow-ups!
  24. Living up to your username I see.
  25. I would be okay with that! I never got the 2019 figure, so an updated version with arm printing would be great for me. I’m conflicted if I want an undamaged or damaged figure. Like I said, I never got the 2019 figure so I’d like to have a clean one to add to the second Hall of Armor set I plan on buying. But if they released the damaged suit from his snap scene, that would be a great addition to the Endgame display I’m going to have with the new wave of sets.
