Those sets came out during one of my dark ages. If I recall the Helms Deep one was rather expensive at the time. Had I been buying LEGO back then it probably would have been Pirates of the Caribbean sets but those were out of my price range too back then.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
karrit replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I just looked through all the series and there isn't one accessory in the non-licensed ones that I would classify as a fantasy creature. Toys maybe but not fantasy. I would have also said the mushroom but that's a couple of parts rather than a specific piece. -
I have no interest in anything that depicts any of the battles. Give me Castles, Inns, Hobbit houses, anything elvish & I'm good. The orcs creep me out so I don't want any of those. That's why Barad-dur was a pass for me although the tower is awesome looking.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
karrit replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm not into D&D myself. Some of my fellow LUG members are very into it. I tried watching a little of the tournament they had at Brickslopes but I had no clue what they were doing. I also just bought these figures to mix & match for my castle builds. I also bought the big set because it looked really cool for castles. I'd definitely buy future series if they make them though I'm not really a fan of the animal heads & legs like the Aarakocra. As long as the rest of the parts in the figs are usable & interesting they are worth it to me. -
The Dorothy CMF had a scottie. Not sure about the others but I know they are out there. I think one was in the BAM towers at some point in time. Westie was in a CMF so the Scottie seems to have been BAM tower as I can't find a set listed for it other than Duplo & the Dorothy CMF (which was gray).

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
karrit replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm mixed on preference for the CMF's. Licensed series if it isn't something I'm into I won't buy them. I think one of the first series I actually collected was TLM2. I had picked up random ones previously but was put off by the whole blind bag thing. One of the the first ones I ever got I ended up with three of the same figure when I tried feeling bags in Toys R Us years ago and it wasn't even one I liked. As for the older series before I started collecting I've picked up a few but no way I'm spending the prices they are asking for a lot of the ones I'd like to have. As for specific types of figures in the unlicensed series I usually don't care for any of the sports related ones. Costumed ones I'll usually get one of each for the novelty factor. If they come with parts I find interesting I may get more than one. I really liked the Holiday themed ones a few series back and picked up multiples of a lot of those. If its a Knight, Pirate, Classic Space I'll grab a lot if I can find them for army building. The Falconer was a bit specific but I figured I could swap out heads, hair & such for variety. Same with the Pirate ones. City type ones it depends on the figure & accessories if I'll try to get more than one. If there are animals or other interesting new parts I'll get a few. Like the ones with the Koala, Turtle & the Toucan I did get several of each. The one with the Afghan I grabbed an extra just for the dog as the figure was just ok. At the prices they charge for the molded animals & the space babies if they become available through PAB it's worth just getting more of the CMF's & mixing up the minifig parts to me. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
karrit replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I would suspect they are doing quite well. The LAN Ambassador for my LUG always does a bulk order for us for each minifig series. He said this has been by far the most popular one since he started doing it. As for availability in my local stores, so far I have only found them in one Target in the next town, lucked into an almost full box in my nearest Kohls and about a dozen leftovers in my local Barnes & Noble so they are not easily found in the wild by me so far where I live. -
I'm not all that familiar with the names of European species but I'm sure there are a lot that you have similar type animals such as the deer, fox & weasel family. Do you have some sort of wild pig similar to or the same as the Boar?

I only have Polar bears in my collection so I'd be very happy to get a Grizzly, Brown or Black bear along with a bear cub or two or three. I'm sure we'll be seeing a raven at some point since they have the mold now. A racoon, groundhog, ground squirrel or chipmunk would be nice. A Lynx or Bobcat would be really interesting. For the ungulates we need Elk, Moose & normal Deer. I'd love a nice white Mountain Goat & a Bighorn Ram. A few more raptors would be nice. For land mammals I forgot a few. Bison, Beaver, Pronghorn Antelope, Dall Sheep. For more interesting species maybe Muskox, porcupine, armadillo. There's also fox, wolverine, weasels or martens, wild boar & badgers. I won't get into reptiles & amphibians cause I prefer the furry species. But a toad or some lizard varieties could be interesting.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Looking at the picture again I'm not even sure the helmets are the classic space ones. One orange torso looks like it might have the logo but even on the white ones it really isn't too clear. And the orange almost looks close to the Vibrant Coral color on a few. No idea when this might become available. -

Too many cars! Guess I'm safe with City until the Summer wave. Curious about the Spaceship. The only others that sound interesting possibly to me are the Donut Truck, Farm Tractor & Camper Van. -

So in that vein we already have many different birds so why should the Cockatoo count as a new animal since it's really just another bird? -
So I googled and it seems they are having similar issues in Europe.

I don't know what the issue is regarding wolves in Europe, curious to know also. I know here in Colorado there are those who welcome the reintroduction efforts and those who are vehemently opposed. I believe it's the same in other states. I considered getting the special wolf plate when I bought my car last year but was worried some nut job might vandalize my vehicle because of the wolf plate.

I think the Hamster costume is female also but hard to tell due to the blurry picture. So that would make 7 female & 5 male figures. -

I'll probably buy one complete set through my LUG's source if he plans to make an order. But I'll be stalking stores to get an army of Beastmasters and additional quantities of some others like the Harbormaster and maybe the Boogeyman and Steampunk guy, possibly one or two others. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion

Wolf looks big, it's gray and the Beastmaster wears a black hood. I updated my post when I found the picture again. I was able to see a clock type thing with a steampuff with the Steampunk guy. -

Glad to see we will get the Wolfpack shield. The Boogeyman is kind of cute. Recolored cat for the Cat Lady, it's white. The plushies just look like printed modified technic balls. And I lost the picture. It was watermarked from what seemed to be an Asian source, possibly a catalog. Pirate Quartermaster with the cockatoo is female. Cupid wears a toga but is a bit cutesy for Valentines day. Not a good view of the steam punk one or the jetpack one but the jetpack one seemed very busy. Dino costume was hard to see also. Found it again. Looks like the Steampunk one has some sort of steampunk clock device. I'm getting a bit weary of the use of odd colored hair pieces. The Astronomer kid is nice, they did a good job with the telescope & the torso print. Cat Lady has a printed sweater. -

There is a leak of an upcoming GWP or Insider reward that appears to be a Tic-Tac-Toe game using Classic Space minifigs in White & Orange. Five of each Minifig. They have helmets but I can't tell from the picture if they have the air tanks. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

It's still showing but currently out of stock on the US website. If you don't check the "show out of Stock" box on the website you won't see all the parts. -
21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF
karrit replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
So, I was somewhat successful in my quest to get a few more D&D CMF's yesterday. The Kohl's website indicated that my nearest store had the minifigs available so I headed there not expecting to find much of anything. Found the display box on a lower shelf and it appeared to be almost full so I started lining up the boxes to scan to see what was actually available. The scanning worked well on about half the boxes so I was able to weed out the ones I didn't want and grab one of each of the five figures that have both male & female heads. The rest of the boxes had codes that were more lightly printed so way more difficult to scan. I was able to find one Dragonborn among the rest of the boxes. I had a $5 Kohls rewards coupon so was able to save a little off each figure which was a bonus. I then checked the nearby Macys but they only had some leftover Series 26 Space figs. Went next to Barnes & Noble where I found maybe 16 D&D boxes but unfortunately no Dragonborns and most of the codes were difficult for the two scanning apps I use. So I'm still in search of a few more Dragonborns if I can find them eventually. My local Target doesn't seem to be carrying this series & the Walmart app says my 2 local stores have them but I have yet to actually find any in the stores.- 686 replies

21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF
karrit replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I bought a full box through my LUG but I still want at least one more of several of the figures so I can have both versions of the male/female options. While I don't need more Dragonborns for the actual Dragon headed version I would like to get a few more for the torso, legs, armor, shield, staff. In other words every part but the dragon head. I think that is why it is the most popular in demand figure from the series.- 686 replies

The seal does look a bit off to me too like it might have a white belly. It's just so blurry when I zoom in on it.
