Disney Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
karrit replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I may need to order a few more Squirrels, Rabbits & Birds. Can't wait to see better pictures. Curious about those timber beam ends. Looks like it may be a new printed 1x1 tile. -

New Elementary seems to have removed the article they had posted about the new elements that were supposed to have been added to the online PAB at some point in January. I've been checking PAB several times daily and there have only been a very few elements added so far this month. Guess LEGO isn't going to get them added this month although they still have about two & a half days to do so. Was really looking forward to ordering some of the hot cocoa mugs that were introduced in the wintery Friends sets from last year as well as a few other bits. -
I like the Owl build the best.

[REVIEW] 71045 Collectible Minifigure Series 25
karrit replied to MKJoshA's topic in Special LEGO Themes
@MKJoshA Nice review. I love the sword & body parts from the Barbarian so I picked up a couple of extras of that one which I hadn't originally planned on. My favorites are the Goatherd & Vampire Knight. I have two full sets coming through a bulk order one of my LUG members placed so I was only searching for extras of certain ones. I'm good with just 2 of the Triceratops & Gamer and the ones really had no interest in the Harpy, Fitness Instructor & Sprinter. Was fortunate enough to find a few back at the end of December by scanning the large codes with my android phone & comparing the numbers with the originally published list of the big long number codes. That first attempt yielded 2 Goatherds & 1 Train Kid. I was leary of the apps that started appearing to scan the codes but ended up downloading the Brick Search app. It's the only one I can get to work on my phone so far. Figscanner didn't work for me and neither did the FalconBricks one. I have had 100% success rate with the Brick Search app when I can get the codes to scan. I've found that the blurry ones or ones that aren't dark enough won't scan for me. I found here in the US that the boxes that have a code that has 447R3 are mostly unscannable due to blurry and/or pale print. The Goatherd, Harpy & one or two others (I think it's the Fitness Instructor & one other) seem to have this poorly printed code on boes from that batch. So I'm done searching thanks to the app and managed to buy 14 Vampire Knights, 10 Goatherds, 4 Mushroom Sprites, 2 Detectives, 2 Barbarians, 1 Train Kid & 1 Pet Groomer in addition to the two full sets I purchased. @BardDandelion The Titanic part was recolored in red for the BAM stations in the LEGO stores. So it's possible the Train might be in the future although the two sets of wheels needed would be a problem since you are officially only allowed 1 accessory per figure.- 12 replies

I saw a bunch of them sitting on a shelf in two different Walmarts last week for a mere 10% off so still $90. Yes Walmarts are weird. I've occassionally found some deals that I thought were really good only to see others report finding the same sets for a lot less than what I paid.

Yes it's Dark Red. In a few of the pictures it almost looks red but when you look at the pictures that have minifigures with Reddish Brown & Dk Brown it definitely looks Dark Red.

I think there is a dark red owl in the upcoming Harry Potter Owlery set. Some of the Friends animals did come in unnatural colors when they had the cubes with mystery animals a few years back.

I was planning to go to my store some time this week to get some of the January figs. Now I'm wondering if I should wait a week or so to see if they get the newer ones in. But then again the parts I want from the January wave might be gone if I wait for the February ones.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Both of my replacement part orders for parts missing from my November orders that I called about on January 3 have arrived on US soil. One has already made it to the nearest DHL distribution center. Waiting for the 2x Insider Points promo coming this weekend before I place my first PAB order for 2024. -

I always like some of the BDP sets but the prices are off-putting. There are so many expensive official LEGO sets I'm interested in getting that I much rather spend my money on those. I can always download the instructions for the BDP sets I'm interested in and then see if I have the parts to make them work. -
Definitely. I know I've been purchasing multiples of them. I figure I get the animals & some spare parts for a little more than just buying the animals from PAB.

@Lion King some of the missing parts from my November orders that I called about on January 3 where showing as out of stock so it took a while for them to ship. As of yesterday they finally show as having been shipped so now I have to wait for them to cross the Atlantic. No notification on USPS Informed Delivery yet so until I see that I can't track them. The 11 days customer service told me it would take are up tomorrow and Monday is a holiday so hopefully by the end of next week I'll have them. I did already get the one replacement part that was listed as a bestseller. Still trying to decide what parts to actually order for my first PAB order of 2024. -
Not being a fan of buildable animals, the 2 dimensional Parrot Art set does absolutely nothing for me. I think they did a nice job on the Kingfisher set but it isn't something I would buy. I wasn't wowed by the Tiger 3-in-1 and I'm quite surprised at the amount of people who think the Giraffe set is so great. Obviously I'm not the target audience for these type sets. Just give me molded animals in my Pirate, City & Castle sets & I'm a happy camper. I kind of ignore the brick build ones in the 3-in-1 sets that I do buy which are mostly the summer wave of buildings and such.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
karrit replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I wasn't able to get figscanner to work on my android phone. I have downloaded the Brick Search app and that does work on my phone. Only works on the larger codes, not the small ones. Had 100% success with the boxes I scanned today. Will be interesting to see what they do with future series. I really don't want to have to invest in one of those tiny camera things if they plan to continue to somehow allow us to figure out which figure is in each package.- 574 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
karrit replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I've had mixed results with the scanning. I have an android phone. I think if the code isn't dark enough it's difficult for the camera to scan it properly. Also seems like it takes a long time for it to actually decipher the code when it does work. I got the scanner app referenced in a Brick Fanatics article to work but another site mentioned by one of my LUG members called figscanner did not work at all for me. I haven't tried either out in the wild, just on my empty boxes at home. Any figures I've bought were found using just my phone camera to scan & comparing the numbers to the lists.- 574 replies

I've only experienced one of the fountain style in a newly opened store. All the others I've experience were the tower style. My favorite store used to do a decent job of keeping the parts separated properly in their tower. Unfortunately the last time I was there it was becoming a jumbled mess like all the others I've experienced in other stores. My one experience with the fountain type one wasn't that great as there were way too many people crowded around it and it was difficult to see what was in the trays which had too many different parts in each one. I do like the idea of the newer style Pick-a-brick wall but again in that new store it was not very big so quite limited in what parts were available. And I could see it being difficult to access if more than two or three people were trying to pick parts at the same time.

Looks like I need to check out a few Best Buy stores tomorrow. Wish I had known when I went to Barnes & Noble yesterday because there's a Best Buy at the other end of that shopping center. Good luck with Walmart. Most of the ones around here have the hanging display boxes with the smaller codes unfortunately.- 574 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
karrit replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
All the stores I checked today that had the CMF's in stock all had the smaller code that doesn't give the numbers we need to know which figure it is. The Barnes & Noble I checked had 3 figures, one had the smaller code the other two scanned as the Fitness Instructor & the Gamer. Target had nothing, Walmart had the hanging display box, Scheels had all small QR codes on their boxes.- 574 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
karrit replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
@RichardGoring sorry hit the wrong button. Looks like a lot of parts are still out of stock. Also seems they haven't removed the "retired" parts either although they are mostly out of stock. Would have been nice if they had bothered to add pictures of the parts that still have none. Going to be a pain to rebuild my list that got obliterated when they paused the service. -

Yeah, I knew I needed to get them to send replacements from the other orders but I held off calling waiting for this last package to arrive in case anything else was missing. I don't always open the packages right away but I never wait too long to check each shipment in case of problems. Since a lot of what I had ordered were supposedly retiring parts I really didn't want to wait this long to call. -

My last 2023 standard parts order finally arrived today. Two parts were missing, 14 of the Bow Windows in Flame Yellow Orange and 2 of the Marine Life Pre-pack accessories. The Marine Life part number on my order doesn't match the part number that is currently listed online. There were 4 random odd parts in the package that I definitely did not order, left & right giant hands in white, a red cape and a torso that I think is probably Ninjago. Called customer service. Was on hold for about 45 minutes with that annoying hold music. Requested replacements for the missing items as well as two that were missing from other orders. They said it should take about 11 days for me to receive the replacements. -
