By now I've encountered 1 minor issue, the engine just exploded when driving backwards. If the fake engine setup is not properly aligned (the moving piston mechanism) it gets stuck and if you continue to drive it, the red bricks holding the 'pistons' just break apart. It worked fine in the beginning, my guess is that pumping might have misaligned some parts. But not sure if that's the reason. And it's also not the 1st model with this type of fake engine that this exact same issue with this type of fake engine (always only when driving backwards). I wish TLG came out with a more dedicated engine part

/sarcasm on I really like how Lego manages to capture all these shades of red and yellow in their Technic sets. Just when you think you've seen them all, a new shade pops up. It's really amazing considering how difficult it would be to create that all by yourself. I guess that's why they are the biggest toy company in the world. All those years of expertise have finally paid off! /sarcasm off

Nice! Considering a 2nd set for my 2 year old son just to build this. He's been tearing up my Arocs, which I'm not to happy about to say the least. But he loves to move his Duplo with a truck and your design might fit that bill perfectly :D And daddy gets some extra pneumatic parts to play with later on.

It is beyond me how TLG just can't deliver B&P orders within a reasonable timeframe. It is the only company I know that needs weeks to even send it when it is in stock.

Can we just get back on topic and talk about unpopular opinions about Lego. Personally I've had it with people just turning everything they get their hands on into some sort of politically loaded topic. Just give it a rest already and 'stop ruining the mood'. I find that I'm more and more ignoring otherwise interesting topics because they've been 'polluted' with completely unrelated issues. And that's not why I'm reading these forums in the 1st place!

Absolutely love the open and detailed layout and the 'fuller' coconut trees. My compliments on a beautiful creation! PS, since I took apart the original Barracuda bay island last week, I have lots of pieces lying around just screaming to be rebuild into something. And this is just a perfect build for that. Any change of a partslist/instruction/model that I could spend my cold and dark evenings with?

That looks nice! I like how it is more rigid than paper/fabric sails, so you can pose them better imitating that they're flapping around in strong winds.

Really cool how you made this review! And smooth too. Love how the captain was sleeping with the treasure on that tiny island -

Should people buy Fake Chinese PF motors?
Verodin replied to Newest_Tech320's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Here in Sweden they're also temporarily out of stock, but I've been keeping an eye on them and they never become available. Maybe TLG makes them available differently across the globe. But I wonder, can't they just order a bigger supply from the manufacturer? I agree with you saying that posts could get removed, but maybe in this specific case the rules could be interpreted a little bit more flexible. Considering the situation. But I don't make the rules here, so it would be entirely up to the moderators to justify and enforce or not. -
Should people buy Fake Chinese PF motors?
Verodin replied to Newest_Tech320's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's not very realistic anymore. I've been keeping my eye open for M motors and they've been out of stock for months(!!!). So yes I would buy fake motors, simply because that's the only thing you can actually buy (ignoring the official ones from 3rd parties who charge a ridiculous amount for them, also not a real option). And yet there are old official sets and lots of MOCs that use these motors. What you're implying is that you're simply out of luck to talk about it on eurobricks, even if you just want to get an old set back up and running. And when PF is officially discontinued? How will that be handled? What are you going to tell those people? -
Never knew this existed until this weekend. Seen the 1st 10 episodes by now and very much enjoying it. I find it relaxing and engaging and plan to fill some more evenings with it this week. It also brings back some very enjoyable memories from past times. Style wise it just clicks. But then again, I turned 41 this weekend, so like you I still remember a time when these things were more appreciated. It's nice to see these things still exist(ed) in a time when there's too much quick fix and simply uninteresting online 'garbage'. Thank you very much for making this series.

[MOD] 31109 Creator Pirate Ship MOD of Combining 2 Sets
Verodin replied to Wurger49's topic in Pirate MOCs
I've build the MOC your bricks version and found that has the same issue. The long masts are wobbly, especially the main one. Was thinking of using round 2x2 bricks (e.g. Barracuda bay style) instead of the round technic connectors, but that seems to be too think at first glance. Maybe a combination of a big boat mast piece (part 48002a) topped of with the round technic connectors would work better. I don't have the parts available right now, so can't test to see if that works. Just a thought. -
Very very nice and good to see something that combines ship with surroundings (below or above the waterline) Btw, this torso might fit in there somewhere; 4540738

I ran into them in the store yesterday while looking for something to sort pieces. While Bygglek wasn't on my shopping list, I couldn't help to check it out, mainly the biggest box and its potential use as strong baseplate. Long story short, I thought the biggest box was flimsy and lightweight, especially compared to more generic plastic storage solutions. And waaaay overpriced for what you get, half price would already be pushing it. Swedish price is 149 SEK btw. Apart from that, why white? Throw in some colour for crying out loud, Lego is for kids (AFOLs can be considered kids as well on the inside ;)) and should be creative and playful. Not this boring white designer stuff...

Interesting island if real. I've only recently come out of my dark ages when it comes to pirates and Barracuda bay was my entrypoint again. Day 1 purchase, but now I'm looking to expand beyond the ship and island leftover. I've decided not to spend insane amounts on buying old sets, but take it slow and see what comes along. Ninjago has surprisingly been on the radar due to a good pricepoint and possible pirate MOCs. E.g. I took The Skull Magician's Caves (71722) as basis for a skull island. Rip off some parts, replace lava with beach and stick some palmtrees and plants on. Works surprisingly well! Also build the latest Destiny's Bounty, but that requires more extensive work for it to function as let's say an asian pirate ship. But I like the shaping of it more than the creator 3 in 1 set, so I'd like to have a go at it when time permits. PS, apologies for being a little off topic. The post above triggered something that's been in my head for a while.

Still waiting on a customer service response, so I can't say the time that took yet. Auto reply says that it takes a little bit longer due to COVID-19 and that they're working from home. No timeframe giving. Swedish btw, maybe differs from other countries. I did get a shipment notification email concerning bricks and pieces yesterday. Took exactly a month.

LEGO Ninjago 2021
Verodin replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Promobricks updated their post on August 18. It's now 5685 pieces and over 20 minifigs. If true, really looking forward to this set! https://www.promobricks.de/lego-71741-ninjago-city-gardens-2021/106965/ -
[MOC] AZURA LMP2 Racing Car
Verodin replied to dls7223685's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
While I have nothing with racing cars in general, I have to admit I very much like this one and would like to build it someday. Do you have any video of it driving? I'd be very interested to see how it performs with the PU motors.- 14 replies

Please don't turn this into another discussion about that specific set. There's a dedicated topic for it. No. Why would I buy a product from a manufacturer that can't even get their colours correct. Then there's other manufacturers with interesting designs, at similar prices, and actually have their act together. TLG really needs to ask itself what sets them apart from the rest.
